There is a mysterious secret hidden in the statue of Guanyin in Mount Putuo.
Look over there.
It's the statue of Guanyin in the South Sea of Mount Putuo.
It's made of 6.5 kg of gold.
Can you believe it?
Guanyin chose this place by himself.
What's more surprising is that
even when it was officially opened in 1997,
there was an incredible shocking scene.
You see, it's on the east coast of our country.
But for many years, it has been known as Guanyin in the South Sea.
90% of the people who come here don't know what's going on inside.
What's going on?
Like and subscribe.
Today, I will reveal the historical legend behind the statue of Guanyin in the South Sea.
We can now see this statue of Guanyin in the South Sea.
We must thank one person.
He is the first chief abbot of Mount Putuo,
Miao Shanda.
Miao Lao, like many great monks,
learned from his father and supported his father-in-law.
He not only founded Mount Putuo Buddhist Academy,
Mount Putuo Buddhist Research Institute and Buddhist Academy,
but also guarded and built here for 50 years.
He built many scenic spots for us to visit Mount Putuo little by little.
Including this huge statue of Mount Putuo in the South Sea.
It is said that because of an incredible thing that happened at that time,
the old monk insisted on building this Guanyin statue at the age of more than 80.
What happened that year?
It is said that people who see this statue are blessed.
Let's call out the blessing first.
On a rainy day in 1994,
the first chief abbot of Mount Putuo,
Miao Shanda,
visited Mount Putuo every day.
He wore straw shoes and walked on a muddy road.
When he came to the Guanyin Temple in front of him,
the Guanyin Temple was a footprint in front of him.
It is said that this footprint is the footprint that Guanyin sold to Mount Putuo
after he built Zhengguo in Lujia Mountain at that time.
Miao Lao walked on this muddy road at that time.
He saw a white Guanyin statue at this corner.
The statue slowly walked towards him from the sea.
Miao Lao looked back at the monk who followed him.
There was no reaction.
He rubbed his eyes,
but the statue was clearer and closer to him.
He knelt down in a hurry.
The disciples thought that their master had fallen down,
so they hurried up to worship.
Miao Lao blamed them.
Why don't you worship when you see Guanyin?
The disciples went face to face.
There is no Guanyin.
Isn't the statue in the temple?
Miao Lao was also very strange.
Ask this disciple, ask that disciple.
They all said they didn't see it.
Unexpectedly, on that night,
Miao Lao dreamed of this white Guanyin again.
The Bodhisattva said to the old monk,
I hope that in your lifetime,
you can build a statue of the sky at the top of this mountain.
First of all, let everyone in this temple see it.
In addition, it can also protect the fishermen who live by the sea here.
It is strange to say that
since the statue of Datong in the South China Sea was built in 1997,
for more than 20 years,
as long as the typhoon approaches Zhejiang,
At that time, after the dream,
Miao Lao, regardless of his own age,
began to run around and raise funds.
It was finally built in 1995.
Two years later,
the statue, weighing more than 70 tons,
was brought back to Mount Putuo.
It is said that this 33-meter-tall statue
consists of 96 Asian gold copper plates all over its body.
The face is made of 6.5 kilograms of gold.
It is said that the face is golden.
So you see,
although for many years,
the typhoon has eaten up a little bit of the body,
but the face has not changed at all.
When the statue was in place,
Miao Lao was waiting for the opening ceremony.
But the rain that lasted for days made it difficult.
In the end, according to the original plan,
it started on September 29, 1997.
At that time, because it was raining in the dark,
the ceremony was delayed for 15 minutes.
Just when everyone was discussing this photo,
Miao Lao stood up and announced that the ceremony was officially opened.
When the word started,
when the sound was just recorded,
there was a gap in the originally gray sky.
From the gap, a beam of light,
which is not clear whether it is white or gold,
and it is just right
to shine on the head of this statue.
At the same time, it reflected the dazzling light,
which excited thousands of people present,
and some even cried.
Then, in the fog,
a silhouette resembling the upper body of Guan Yin was exposed,
and it seemed to be sitting on the lotus platform.
At this time, no one could explain clearly
that the strange scenes in front of him were echoing.
And this scene was just recorded by shooting.
It has become one of the most magical stories in Mount Putuo so far.
Another question bothered 90% of friends who came to Mount Putuo.
This is Mount Putuo in the East China Sea.
Why is it said that this is the holy place of Nanhai Guan Yin?
Have we been wrong all the time?
In fact, in the Buddhist universe,
the world is divided into four continents,
with Mount Xun as the center and Mount Tie as the boundary.
The four directions are the Eastern Holy Land,
where the sun rises and the sun sets,
the Southern Shanbu Prefecture,
the West Niuhe Prefecture,
and the Northern Julu Prefecture,
The Eastern Holy Land,
as you can see in the Journey to the West,
has an Aolai Country,
and there is a Huaguoshan in Aolai Country.
Guess which prefecture we belong to?
That's right.
It is the Southern Shanbu Prefecture,
So the ocean around it
is naturally called the South China Sea.
It is recorded that
there is a mountain in the south called Putaloga,
and there is a Bodhisattva named Guan Zizai.
Guan Yin culture
originated from a small island in the southernmost part of ancient India
called Putaloga.
When Guan Yin came to China,
he needed to find another place
similar to Putaloga in ancient India,
so he found Mount Putuo.
During the Jiajing period of the Southern Song Dynasty,
this place was designated as the Guan Yin Daochang,
so it was called Nanhai Putuo.
In other words,
Nanhai Guan Yin is not only because of Nanhai Putuo,
but also because of Nanhai Guan Yin,
so Mount Putuo was named Nanhai Putuo.
According to Buddhism,
the Southern Shanbu Prefecture
is a world of suffering
where people die young and old,
people leave their loved ones,
people have grudges,
and people can't get what they want.
The reason is maybe just the trust of the heart,
but the place is very important,
just like the saying we always hear,
the world is a place of cultivation,
and the middle and the south are the customs.
Do you think there is a Buddha in this world?
