At our ABC News exclusive, with a nine-year-old boy who saved his parents when their truck crashed during a tornado.
We spoke to him and his father. Lara has the story. Hey, Lara.
Yeah, it's an unbelievable story, George. So imagine being nine years old,
your family truck crashes, and you see that your parents are trapped inside and they're injured.
It would have been understandable to be frozen in fear, especially because they were in the middle of a tornado.
Instead, though, this little boy acted quickly, and he saved their lives.
I was really, really scared.
Oh, we got a tornado right in front of us!
The storm tearing through Oklahoma April 27th.
Branson and his parents, Wayne and Lindy Baker, racing for safety, driving to their friend's storm shelter.
We could pretty much see this tornado within about a mile, two miles away from us.
But as we turned, the tornado turned itself.
The tornado uprooting a tree, hitting the Baker's truck full force, trapping Wayne and Lindy.
But Branson able to escape, running over a mile to get help.
As soon as I went to go get help, I said, don't die.
Branson sprung into action really quick. He's a very courageous son.
For a nine-year-old boy, not many adults would have done what he did.
Rushing to the scene, calling 911. First responders arriving, and Branson returning with help.
Wayne now recovering from back, neck, and arm injuries. His wife, Lindy, still in the hospital.
But it's little Branson's heroic acts in the spotlight doing everything for his mom and dad.
You couldn't be more proud to be a father of a son that can accept a challenge that way.
Shows that he would go above and beyond for anyone.
One of the most active tornado seasons in history continues to destroy parts of the country.
More than 300 confirmed twisters have touched down since the beginning of the year, killing 68 people.
Forecasters predict it's not over yet. A line of storms is now stretching from the deep south to western New York.
Mark Martin reports.
Fourteen reported tornadoes in just a 36-hour time period, including this one in Iowa.
Look at this tornado go.
And this one in Illinois. The severe weather has 30 million Americans on alert.
It's heading straight for that house.
Meteorologists say an EF-2 twister with wind gusts up to 130 miles per hour touched down in southeastern Missouri Wednesday morning,
just before sunrise, killing at least five people. The storm damaged dozens of buildings and wiped out at least 12.
And you could hear everything just banging on the house. You could hear trees are popping and everything. So it was very scary.
Keith Lincoln and his wife huddled in their bathtub before the tornado tore apart their home.
Thank you, my good Lord. Please help us. My wife's praying, save us, save the house, everything like that. And basically, He did.
Beneath the vast expanse of the heavens, our world stands witness to the relentless dance of nature's fury.
Natural disasters, like ominous warnings etched upon the canvas of existence, herald the tumultuous state of our planet.
In the sacred verses of the Bible, echoes of these cataclysmic events resound, painting a vivid portrait of a world in upheaval.
The Earth is breaking apart, shaking like crazy proclaims Isaiah 2419, a poignant reminder of the Earth's convulsions amidst the chaos.
Yet amidst these seismic tremors, we, the stewards of this fragile orb, persist in our folly and neglect.
Ignoring the signs writ large upon the fabric of creation, we continue to indulge in selfish pursuits and heedless greed.
There were huge storms and earthquakes like never-before-worn's Revelation 1618, a stark testament to the unprecedented scale of devastation wrought by our indifference.
Indeed, the tapestry of our world grows ever darker, the shadows lengthening with each passing tempest.
The Earth shakes like someone who's had too much to drink it wobbles like a hut laments Isaiah 2420, a haunting metaphor for the instability plaguing our fragile home.
Yet, in our relentless pursuit of self-interest, we persist in burdening the Earth with the weight of our transgressions, dragging it inexorably towards ruin.
But amidst the chaos and despair, a glimmer of hope yet remains.
For in acknowledging our culpability, we unlock the potential for redemption.
Let us heed the warning signs etched upon the fabric of creation and strive towards a future where harmony and stewardship reign supreme.
Only then can we hope to lift the Earth from its slumbering state and usher in a new dawn of restoration and renewal.
Amidst the shadows of despair, a solitary voice resonates from the throne of eternity, proclaiming a promise of renewal and restoration.
I'll make everything new, declares Revelation 21.5, a beacon of hope amidst the encroaching darkness.
In the midst of adversity, there exists the potential for transformation, a chance for a fresh beginning where peace and happiness await, and the specter of suffering and sorrow fades into oblivion.
As we journey deeper into the annals of prophecy, we find ourselves traversing the hallowed passages of the Book of Revelation.
Here, amidst the swirling mists of uncertainty, the seven seals and the four horsemen of the apocalypse loom large, casting their ominous shadows upon the tapestry of time.
These prophetic visions, etched upon the sacred scrolls, serve as harbingers of the tumultuous events that will herald the culmination of history.
In the vivid imagery of Revelation, each broken seal unleashes a torrent of chaos and devastation upon the world, heralding the dawn of apocalyptic tribulations.
The four horsemen, astride their steeds of crimson, black, pale, and white, embody the specter of conquest, war, famine, and death, riding forth as harbingers of doom and despair.
Their relentless march across the desolate landscape serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of human existence as humanity teeters on the brink of annihilation.
Why are the four horsemen important in Revelation?
To embark on this journey, we must first understand the context in which the four horsemen are introduced.
The Book of Revelation, also known as the Apocalypse, is the final book of the New Testament and is attributed to John the Apostle.
It is a complex work filled with vivid imagery and cryptic messages that have been interpreted in various ways throughout history.
The book is structured around a series of visions that reveal the events leading up to the end of the world and the second coming of Christ.
The four horsemen appear in the sixth chapter of Revelation as part of the opening of the seven seals by the Lamb of God, who is worthy to execute God's judgment.
Each horseman is associated with a different color horse and represents a different aspect of the Apocalypse conquest white horse, war red horse, famine black horse, and death pale horse.
Their arrival signifies the beginning of the end times, a period of great tribulation and suffering for humanity.
The first horseman, riding a white horse, is often interpreted as a symbol of conquest and victory.
He carries a bow and is given a crown, suggesting authority and dominion.
However, some scholars argue that this rider represents the Antichrist, who will come under the guise of peace and righteousness, but will ultimately lead people astray.
The second horseman, on a red horse, symbolizes war and bloodshed.
He is granted the power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other.
This rider reflects the conflicts and strife that will occur during the end times, leading to widespread destruction and chaos.
The third horseman, on a black horse, is associated with famine and scarcity.
He holds a pair of scales, indicating the rationing and measuring of food during a time of great need.
The black horseman represents the economic hardship and suffering that will accompany the other calamities of the Apocalypse.
The fourth and final horseman, on a pale horse, is named Death, and Hades follows him.
This rider has the authority to kill a quarter of the earth's population through various means, including plague, sword, famine, and wild beasts.
The pale horseman embodies the ultimate consequence of the Apocalypse, the mortality of humanity, and the inevitability of death.
The appearance of the four horsemen is a pivotal moment in the Book of Revelation, marking the onset of God's judgment upon the earth.
Their presence serves as a warning to humanity about the consequences of sin and the need for repentance.
The horsemen also symbolize the trials and tribulations that believers will face before the final victory of good over evil.
As we delve deeper into the symbolism of the four horsemen, we must consider their role within the broader narrative of Revelation.
They are not merely agents of destruction, but also catalysts for change.
The trials they bring force humanity to confront its own mortality and the transient nature of worldly power.
In the face of such challenges, the faithful are called to remain steadfast and to look forward to the promise of salvation and eternal life.
The four horsemen also serve as a reminder of the cyclical nature of history.
Wars, famines, and plagues have occurred throughout the ages, each time bringing about transformation and renewal.
In this sense, the horsemen can be seen as harbingers of both destruction and rebirth, as each end heralds a new beginning.
In contemporary times, the imagery of the four horsemen has been invoked in relation to various global crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some see parallels between the events described in Revelation and the challenges faced by the modern world.
While it is tempting to draw direct correlations, it is important to approach such interpretations with caution and to recognize the symbolic and allegorical nature of apocalyptic literature.
The study of the four horsemen and their significance is a vast and complex topic that encompasses theology, history, and philosophy.
A comprehensive essay on this subject would explore not only the biblical text, but also the historical context, various interpretations, and the relevance of the horsemen's symbolism to contemporary issues.
The four horsemen of the apocalypse are enduring symbols of the human condition and the challenges we face.
Their portrayal in the Book of Revelation serves as a powerful reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of spiritual preparedness.
As we reflect on their meaning, we are encouraged to consider our own place in the unfolding story of humanity and to seek wisdom and guidance in the face of uncertainty.
The white horseman conquest or deception.
The first horseman, astride a white horse, is often associated with conquest.
His crown and bow symbolize authority and the ability to conquer without bloodshed.
However, this rider's identity is shrouded in ambiguity.
Some scholars interpret him as Christ or a Christ-like figure, representing the spread of the gospel and the victory of faith.
Others see him as the Antichrist, a figure of deception who will lead many astray with promises of peace.
This duality reflects the complex nature of apocalyptic literature, where symbols can hold multiple meanings and interpretations can vary widely.
The Red Horseman War and Bloodshed the Second Horseman rides a red horse, an unmistakable emblem of war and conflict.
The power granted to him to take peace from the earth suggests a time when global strife will escalate, leading to widespread devastation.
This horseman's role is clear he is the embodiment of human aggression and the chaos that ensues when diplomacy fails and swords are drawn.
The Red Horseman's passage is a stark reminder of the fragility of peace and the destructive potential of unchecked hostility.
The Black Horseman Famine and Scarcity on a Black Horse
The third horseman carries scales indicative of the need to measure and ration food.
This image conjures scenes of drought, crop failure, and the desperate struggle to survive in a world where resources are scarce.
The Black Horseman's presence underscores the interconnectedness of war and famine, as conflict often leads to food shortages and economic instability.
His scales are a somber warning of the delicate balance between abundance and need and the thin line that separates sustenance from starvation.
The Pale Horseman Death and Finality the Fourth Horseman, named Death, rides a pale horse with Hades following close behind.
This chilling portrayal captures the inevitability of death and the finality of the grave.
The Pale Horseman's authority to kill with sword, famine, and plague encompasses the full spectrum of mortal threats.
His emergence is perhaps the most sobering, as it confronts us with the ultimate reality of human existence, the certainty of death, and the mystery of what lies beyond.
Historical context and interpretations throughout history, the four horsemen have been interpreted in various ways, reflecting the concerns and challenges of different eras.
In medieval times, they were seen as literal harbingers of the end times, with each horseman linked to specific historical events such as the Black Death or the Mongol invasions.
During the Reformation, some saw the horsemen as symbols of the corrupt Church and the need for spiritual renewal.
In modern times, interpretations have ranged from viewing the horsemen as metaphors for systemic issues like imperialism and capitalism to seeing them as representations of actual events like world wars and pandemics.
The horseman in contemporary discourse, the COVID-19 pandemic, has reignited interest in the four horsemen, with some drawing parallels between the pandemic and the prophecies of Revelation.
While it is tempting to see the pandemic as a fulfillment of the fourth seal, such interpretations must be approached with caution.
The Book of Revelation is rich with symbolism, and its messages are not always meant to be taken literally.
Instead, they invite reflection on the deeper spiritual and moral lessons that can be gleaned from the text.
Reflections on mortality and hope in conclusion, the four horsemen of the apocalypse are powerful symbols that have captivated the human imagination for centuries.
They represent the trials and tribulations that humanity has faced throughout history and continues to face today.
As we reflect on the meaning of the horsemen, we are reminded of our own mortality and the need for spiritual vigilance.
Yet, amidst the foreboding imagery, there is also a message of hope.
The Book of Revelation ultimately promises a new beginning, where death and suffering are overcome, and eternal life is offered to all who believe.
In the prophetic narrative of Daniel chapter 8, verse 25, a forewarning is issued about the ephemeral nature of peace.
This fleeting tranquility, which may temporarily envelop the world, is destined to be fractured, a sentiment resonated by Apostle Paul in his letter to the Thessalonians.
He graphically portrays the abrupt calamity that will befall humanity, likened to the unforeseen pangs of childbirth that strike a pregnant woman.
The breaking of the second seal in Revelation chapter 6, verses 3 to 4, signifies the descent into wartime chaos, symbolized by the emergence of a fiery red horse.
The rider, endowed with the power to dissolve peace on earth, instigates a deluge of conflict and carnage among humankind.
It is broadly interpreted that this rider epitomizes the culmination of the deceptive tranquility orchestrated by the Antichrist,
in addition to other global conflicts that spontaneously ignite.
The term great affix to the sword brandished by the rider accentuates the extent of the ensuing destruction,
while the sword's resemblance to a short dagger intimates the personal and savage nature of the forthcoming violence.
Jesus, in his prophetic Olivet discourse, anticipates these turbulent times, advising against panic in the face of wars and the whispers of wars.
He foresees an era where nations will confront nations, and kingdoms will clash with kingdoms, accompanied by famines and seismic events, as chronicled in Matthew chapter 24, verses 6 to 7.
The advent of the third horseman, depicted astride a black horse, represents the blight of famine that will scourge the earth.
The unsealing of the third seal heralds widespread scarcity, as depicted by the scales in the rider's grasp, denoting the meticulous allocation of food.
The proclamation among the heavenly beings reflects the inflated costs for basic nourishment, a day's wage for a mere quart of wheat or three quarts of barley, while the luxury items of oil and wine are spared.
Revelation chapter 6, verses 5 to 6, vividly portrays the profound ramifications of scarcity and famine.
A day's wage, a denarius in the first century economy, barely suffices to sustain an individual, with a quart of wheat scarcely meeting the requirements for a single meal.
Barley, generally regarded as livestock feed, becomes the scant provision for the impoverished, while oil and wine, fundamental culinary elements, transform into treasured goods.
The scales brandished by the black horse's rider symbolize a stringent economic regime, dispensing just enough sustenance to survive a day's labor.
This rationing mechanism escalates food prices to prohibitive heights, exacerbating the anguish inflicted by famine, a testament to the third horseman's ruinous impact.
The arrival of the fourth horse and its rider signifies the apex of the antecedent judgments.
With the breaking of the fourth seal, a pale horse materializes, its rider named Death, flanked by Hades and granted dominion over a quarter of the earth.
The horse's pallid shade, reminiscent of the color of decay, embodies the lifeless hue of mortality, the inescapable aftermath of combat, starvation, and disease.
An astonishing one-quarter of the global population falls victim to the relentless assault of the four horsemen, highlighting the severity of the tribulation prophesied by Jesus in Matthew chapter 24, verse 21.
Nevertheless, amid the escalating turmoil and ruin, a ray of hope persists.
The divine wrath, as depicted in Revelation, delineates a route to redemption through belief in Jesus Christ.
His atoning sacrifice and victorious resurrection forge a path to salvation from the certainty of condemnation.
Yet, for those who reject this deliverance, no sanctuary exists from the divine vengeance, a sobering truth underscored by the author of Hebrews.
Overlooking the chance for salvation renders one susceptible to the unyielding progression of judgment, emphasizing the criticality of seizing the offer of everlasting life proffered by the Lord.
The Second Coming of Jesus, What Happens When He Returns
Jesus Christ himself will be unveiled in full glory, ruling from Jerusalem with absolute authority over every nation.
Imagine, if you will, a world where every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord, right here on this very earth we walk upon.
The air we breathe will be charged with the palpable presence of grace, making every moment a living testimony to his lordship.
Can you envision a time when Christ Jesus is on earth?
A world where you can go to see him?
There will come a time on this earth when the lion will lie down with the lamb, and the child will play at the cobra's den without fear.
The very nature of animals will be transformed into a peaceful coexistence, reflecting the Eden we have longed to see restored.
This peace will not be confined to the animal kingdom, but will spill over into human hearts, teaching us to lay down our arms and embrace our enemies.
The once impossible dream of global peace will bloom into reality, setting the stage for a life where fear is but a forgotten shadow.
This prophecy from Isaiah 11 brings a tear to the eye and hope to the heart, reminding us that a time is coming upon this earth when the word of God will flow like a river from Zion,
teaching us all to walk in his ways, bringing peace, justice and righteousness to the forefront of human existence.
It is not like this in the current world, but a time is coming upon this earth when swords will be beaten into plowshares and the deserts will blossom as the rose.
Can you picture it? Lands once barren, now brimming with life and abundance, fulfilling Isaiah 35's promise of restoration.
There is a time coming upon this earth where the longevity of life will mirror that of the ancient trees, where the curse of death is but a distant memory.
This time, my friends, is not a mere fantasy. It is the millennial reign of our Lord, a period of unparalleled peace and prosperity.
During this time, Satan will be bound, unable to deceive, allowing righteousness to flourish unimpeded.
There is a time coming upon this earth where the echo of injustice will be silenced by the gavel of Christ's fairness, where every action is infused with divine love and mercy.
Let your hearts yearn for this time. Let your souls long for the dawn of this era.
For there is a time coming upon this earth where we will witness the fulfillment of God's promises, a testament to his unfailing love and power.
Revelation chapter 20 verses 3 through 6 tells us,
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them.
And I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image,
neither had received his mark upon their foreheads or in their hands.
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.
This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection.
On such the second death hath no power.
But they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Jesus Christ shall reign on earth for a thousand years.
While some theologians believe that this thousand years is symbolic and not a literal period,
I firmly believe that it is a literal thousand years.
The reason being that six times in Revelation chapter 20 verses 2 through 7,
the term one thousand years is explicitly and specifically mentioned.
If God wanted to communicate a long period of time rather than one thousand years specifically,
he could have easily done so without repeatedly mentioning the exact time frame of one thousand years.
Can you imagine one thousand years with Christ as our ruler?
A world with no fear? A world where you will not need to lock your doors at night?
A world with the perfect physical and spiritual environment?
That is what the millennial kingdom will be like.
For a thousand years with Jesus as our ruler, there will be peace, complete and utter peace on the earth.
Take a moment to ponder what the millennial reign with Christ Jesus will be like
and imagine that all the turmoil has come to an end.
The conflicts have ceased and there is no longer any more selfishness on the earth.
There is no more pain nor sorrow.
This is not the temporary and deceitful three and a half years of peace
that the Antichrist is foretold to usher in during the first period of the Great Tribulation.
No, we are beyond that.
I want you to see in your mind the revelation given to John in chapter 20.
We find in Revelation 20 that God mentions the millennium six times.
From verse 2 to verse 7, God says,
1,000 years, 1,000 years, 1,000 years, 1,000 years, 1,000 years.
And in three of those verses, he refers to this period of time as the thousand years.
Can you imagine what the world will be like with Jesus as its ruler for 1,000 years?
And the world will finally be in a practical state of utopia because Christ will be reigning.
During this 1,000 years, Satan will be bound.
Can you imagine what this 1,000 years with Jesus will be like?
It will be a time of peace, a time of joy, and a time of real prosperity for all those on the earth.
Amazingly, during the millennial reign,
there will be two groups of people those with glorified physical bodies
and those with natural earthly bodies.
The people with natural bodies who are on earth during this period would have survived the Great Tribulation.
This should not be taken lightly,
as we see in the book of Revelation that large cohorts of the earth's population
are killed during the events of the Great Tribulation.
Revelation chapter 9 verse 18 states,
By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed
So now the saints are reigning with Jesus on earth,
and there will also be the survivors of the Great Tribulation.
These survivors will see the goodness, righteousness, and holiness of our Lord Jesus Christ.
They will experience the 1,000 years with Jesus.
What is surprising is that some of these people
who will experience this wonderful 1,000 years with Jesus
will decide to participate in a rebellion against Jesus
once Satan is loosed on the earth at the end of the 1,000 year period.
In the unfolding of Revelation 20 verses 7 and 8,
we are presented with a paradox that is as profound as it is perplexing.
Despite a millennium of peace, righteousness,
and the visible reign of Christ Jesus himself upon the earth,
there emerges a truth about the human heart that is as inevitable as it is tragic.
The scriptures tell us that Satan, once released from his long imprisonment,
will find fertile ground in the hearts of many across the nations.
Like the sand on the seashore,
innumerable individuals will choose deception over truth,
rebellion over submission,
even though Christ is right there before their eyes.
This scenario paints a stark picture
that challenges one of the most pervasive myths of our time
the notion that seeing is believing,
that a tangible experience of God's presence
would automatically create faith and allegiance.
The reality, as laid bare by these verses,
is that the human heart harbors depths of rebellion
that are not easily defeated,
not even by the manifest glory of Christ's kingdom on earth.
The millennial kingdom will be a period of unprecedented peace and prosperity,
but it will also be a time that reveals the true nature of the human heart.
Despite the perfect environment and the righteous rule of Christ,
some will still choose to rebel.
This serves as a profound reminder of the necessity of true transformation
and redemption that only comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
The ultimate hope and restoration that we look forward to
is not just a physical kingdom,
but a new heaven and a new earth,
where righteousness dwells,
free from the influence of sin and rebellion forever.
It is a humbling reminder that the wickedness of the human heart
can resist even the most direct revelations of divine majesty and love,
to see Christ and yet reject him.
The insistence that visible proof of God's existence
would compel belief and conversion
is proven to be a lie in the light of this ultimate act of defiance.
How can it be that after a thousand years of Christ's just and benevolent rule,
there would still be those who choose to align themselves
with Satan's final stand against the kingdom of God?
This is a sobering testament to the profound mystery of free will
and the insidious nature of sin,
which can blind the souls of men and women to the beauty of God's truth,
even when it governs the world around them.
I struggle to understand this.
I struggle to understand human beings.
What more do you want?
What more do you need?
To witness Christ in all his glory ruling the world and still reject him?
I cannot understand this,
but there will be people who do this,
nations who do this.
Can you think of anything more wicked than witnessing the reign of Christ on earth,
his goodness and his justice,
yet choosing to reject him?
Can you think of anything more wicked than walking the streets of a world
ruled by the epitome of love and grace,
yet turning your back on him?
Can you think of anything more wicked than seeing Christ with your own eyes,
his compassion,
his governance that brings peace and prosperity unlike any before,
and still rejecting him?
Can you think of anything more wicked than choosing Satan,
the architect of lies and despair,
over a Christ you have witnessed ruling justly,
healing the broken,
and restoring the earth to its Edenic splendor?
Can you think of anything more wicked than living under the direct,
benevolent,
and fair leadership of Jesus himself,
experiencing firsthand the blessings of his kingdom,
yet deciding that allegiance to the deceiver is preferable?
Can you think of anything more wicked than having the Word of God taught freely,
understanding clearly the path to eternal peace,
yet choosing the path that leads to destruction and chaos?
Yes, I can think of something more wicked,
and that is the people of today who live on Christ's earth,
enjoy his creation,
breathe his air,
and yet reject him.
There is a profound tragedy in taking for granted the daily miracles of life,
the sun that rises,
the beauty of a world finally balanced for our existence,
and still turning away from the Creator.
It is sobering to realize that in the comfort of our daily lives,
where the evidence of God's handiwork surrounds us,
indifference or outright rejection of Christ is a profound act of rebellion.
The rebellion at the end of the millennium underscores the persistent,
rebellious nature of the human heart without true transformation by the Spirit of God.
It shows us that miracles, signs and wonders,
even the manifest reign of Christ,
are not sufficient to change a hardened heart.
True faith and allegiance to God come from a heart
that is genuinely transformed by his grace.
This reflection should stir us to deep gratitude for the grace we have received
and a renewed commitment to share the Gospel,
knowing that it is only through the message of Christ
and the work of the Holy Spirit that hearts can be truly changed.
Let us remember this as we await the glorious future God has promised
and let our lives be a testament to his love and truth,
inviting others to experience the profound peace and joy that come from knowing and following Christ.
To live in a world filled with his wonders,
to benefit from the order and beauty of creation,
to experience love and community,
yet to dismiss the author of life is a grievous choice.
This rejection is not born of ignorance,
but of a heart closed to the truth that permeates every aspect of existence.
It's more wicked because today we have the entirety of Scripture,
the testimony of millennia,
the presence of the Holy Spirit,
and the community of believers to point us to Christ.
Yet many choose to walk in darkness
rather than step into the light offered freely by Jesus.
This stark reality calls for deep introspection of our relationship with God,
a sincere reflection on the state of our hearts,
and a recommitment to living in gratitude and obedience to the one who gives us everything,
including every breath we take.
The gravity of such rejection underscores not just a momentary lapse,
but a fundamental misunderstanding of the love and sacrifice that Christ embodies a love that endures,
a love that offers redemption and hope, even to the very end.
What is surprising is that some of these people
who will experience this wonderful 1,000 years with Jesus
will decide to participate in a rebellion against Jesus
once Satan is loosed on the earth at the end of the 1,000-year period.
However, today we are not focusing on that.
We are focusing on how wonderful and how glorious the millennial reign will be.
Magnificent things will happen during this period.
The prophet Isaiah, in Isaiah 11, verses 1-10,
saw a glimpse of the 1,000 years and offered a very clear picture of this future for us.
Isaiah 11, 6-9 describes the wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together,
and a little child will lead them.
The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
The infant will play near the cobra's den,
and the young child will put its hand into the viper's nest.
They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
What is described here is a complete change of the animal kingdom,
a time when the very nature of wild animals will be changed.
No longer will there be predators among the animals,
and it seems that all animals will be herbivores or plant eaters.
Not only will the way animals interact with one another change,
but the way they interact with humans will also be transformed.
A child will walk among animals like wolves,
leopards, bears and lions in safety with no fear.
If I were to be anywhere near a wildcat right now,
I would be nervous, folks.
Have you ever seen how fast a cheetah is or how strong a bear is?
I would be pretty nervous.
But there is a coming time when children will be able to walk peacefully with animals like this.
The last phrase in Isaiah states,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
Can you imagine a world like that?
From continent to continent, men are going to know the Lord.
From sea to shining sea, men are going to know the Lord.
Not only will the animal kingdom be changed,
but the state of our lives will be changed.
There will be death in the millennial earth,
but in the transformed biology and ecology of the world under the reign of Jesus Christ,
people will live incredibly longer as they did in the days before the flood.
I want to introduce the son of Enoch, Methuselah,
who is known for being the oldest man in the Bible.
He lived to be 969 years old.
This remarkable longevity will be restored,
reflecting a time of incredible peace and prosperity,
where the fullness of life can be experienced under the benevolent reign of Christ.
The Bible tells us that such longevity will be a normal occurrence for people during this time.
We are told that health will improve to an extraordinary degree.
The millennial reign of the Messiah will be glorious.
Isaiah 65 20 says,
No more shall an infant from there live but a few days,
nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days.
For the child shall die one hundred years old,
but the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.
If someone dies during this period at the age of one hundred years old,
they are considered a child.
Wrap that around your head.
This world where Christ will be the ruler will be completely different from the world we live in now.
There will be people born in this millennial reign of Christ Jesus,
and all they will ever know is the wonderful world with Christ as their ruler.
It almost sounds like a dream, doesn't it?
It makes you wish that it was here today, doesn't it?
All these people will know is a long life growing old with their loved ones.
Imagine a world where people know their great-great-great-great-grandparents.
Grandparents love their grandchildren.
Grandparents absolutely adore their grandchildren.
Now imagine being able to see generation after generation of their offspring.
Wonderful!
That will be possible during the millennial reign because of the length of people's lives.
It almost sounds like a dream, doesn't it?
It makes you wish that it was here today, doesn't it?
Aren't you tired of this world and all of its sin, death, and destruction?
I look forward to living in a world where the Lord Jesus Christ is sitting in Jerusalem on the throne of David
and the joy of the Lord covers the face of the earth.
Not only will we be able to live longer and healthier lives,
but we will also be able to walk amongst animals we wouldn't go anywhere near today.
Society will be safer.
Children will be able to play on the streets.
People won't have to lock their doors.
Life will be lived without fear.
People will be able to walk home at night with no fear.
As a father, I've had to speak to my children and warn them about how sick, mean, and ruthless this world is.
But during the reign of Christ, this world will be safe.
Parents won't need to have such cold but necessary talks with their daughters or sons.
Praise God! Praise God!
Doesn't that make you wish it was today?
Somewhere safe for your children.
Even so, come Lord Jesus Christ.
Even so, Lord, come today.
Our minds cannot understand the complete and utter bliss we will experience under King Jesus and His righteous rulership.
I praise God for this prophecy.
Take hope, brothers and sisters, that we will reign with our Lord and Savior in this reality and in front of those who are alive at that time.
The kingdom of the Lord will come to earth as it is in heaven.
A Journey of Faith and Unity
In the serene moments of our lives, when the cacophony of the world recedes into a mere whisper,
we are beckoned to heed to truly heed the stirring call of the Holy Spirit.
This summons echoes in the hearts of those navigating life's tumultuous seas,
a guiding light for souls in search of direction and purpose.
Amidst the twists and turns of existence, as we confront the encroaching shadows cast by malevolent forces,
the radiant brilliance of the Lord shines unwaveringly, piercing through the darkness.
Partaking in this cosmic struggle transcends mere obligation it entails embracing a sacred duty,
a divine calling entrusted to us, the faithful.
Let us grasp onto our faith with unwavering resolve,
drawing inspiration from the radiant examples set by the saints and martyrs who came before us.
Like Daniel amidst the fierce lions, whose faith was his shield like Joshua amidst the crumbling walls of Jericho,
whose trust in God was unyielding like Paul,
whose life was transformed by divine grace on the road to Damascus,
these paragons of virtue illuminate our path with their steadfast commitment to divine will.
As the world plunges into an abyss of discord and strife,
our collective need for unity and solidarity has never been more pressing.
Let us raise our voices in fervent prayer, not solely for our own deliverance,
but for the salvation of every soul yearning for the solace of divine light.
Anticipating the trials looming on the horizon, let us ready our hearts and fortify our spirits,
armed with the unwavering courage that stems from unshakable faith.
In the sacred pages of Scripture, we find an endless wellspring of solace and strength.
The Book of Romans assures us nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God, Romans 8.39,
offering a sanctuary in the midst of life's trials.
This promise becomes our refuge, affirming the unwavering guidance and protection of the Lord,
even amidst the darkest of times.
Let us stand united, firm against the encroaching shadows,
against the sinister plots of demons, and against the stealthy workings of evil.
In our pursuit of becoming beacons of hope, let us strive to embody compassion
and radiate the boundless love of God in a world overshadowed by darkness.
Our mission is to share the timeless truths of God's Word
and to extend the infinite compassion of His love to all we encounter.
With a shared purpose and an unshakable faith in the providence of the Lord,
we can conquer any obstacle, weather any storm,
and emerge victorious in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer.
Thus, let us press onward, dear brothers and sisters,
hand in hand, heart in heart, with unwavering solidarity and unyielding faith.
For together, under the divine mantle of grace,
we shall overcome, we shall endure, and we shall triumph.
Amen.
In our journey of faith, we are not solitary wanderers,
but integral members of a vast fellowship of believers,
each of us a vital thread woven into the intricate tapestry of the Church.
Our shared experiences, both joys and sorrows,
knit us together in a rich fabric of communal life
that is simultaneously diverse and united.
As we confront the challenges of our era, let us draw strength from this unity,
finding solace in the assurance that we are not alone in our struggles.
The trials we face are not mere stumbling blocks
but opportunities for spiritual growth and the deepening of our faith.
They serve as the crucible in which our spiritual resilience is forged
and our character is honed.
In the furnace of adversity, let us stand firm,
knowing that each hurdle we surmount is a testament to the strength of our faith
and the grace of God working within us.
Amidst the uncertainties of life,
let us be emissaries of assurance, the assurance of God's promises,
the assurance of His abiding presence,
and the assurance of His boundless love for us.
Let us embody the hands and feet of Christ in the world,
extending compassion to the marginalized,
offering solace to the forgotten,
and guiding the lost towards redemption.
Through acts of kindness, words of encouragement,
and deeds of service, we can tangibly express the love of Christ,
transforming lives and communities in the process.
As we gaze towards the horizon of the future,
let us do so with hearts brimming with hope and anticipation.
The trials and tribulations we face today
are but the prologue to a magnificent destiny that awaits us,
a destiny where every tear shall be gently wiped away,
where sorrow and anguish will be banished forever,
and where we shall bask in the radiant presence of our Heavenly Father for all eternity.
In this boundless hope, we discover the unwavering strength to persevere,
the indomitable courage to forge ahead,
and the ineffable joy that sustains us through the darkest of nights.
Therefore, let us march onward, dear brethren,
with faith as our unwavering guide and love as our steadfast compass,
knowing with absolute certainty that the path we tread today
leads us ever closer to the divine embrace of our Heavenly Father.
May this hope infuse our souls with renewed vigor.
May it ignite within us a fervent determination to overcome every obstacle,
and may it serve as a beacon of light guiding us through the tumultuous seas of life.
For in the end, it is this hope that shall carry us triumphantly into the arms of our loving Creator,
where we shall dwell in eternal peace and bliss.
