Join me on my Southeast Asia adventure starting with Vietnam! This video highlights my favorite memories, lessons, and challenges during my 2-week solo journey in the country.
From navigating the Cu Chi Tunnels of Saigon to savoring delicious Vietnamese dishes in Hanoi and feeling the adrenaline of riding a motorbike on the Ha Giang Loop to finding serenity in the rice fields of Sapa. This is your sneak peek into why Vietnam deserves a spot on your travel bucket list!
The Philippines is a last among Asian
countries I know well and am certain of a last
She capture the spirit of Tokyo in Saigon
I know Saigon as a visit to the nature of your Vietnam I
am showing what can be said
Riding a motorcycle is easy
It is a good one in
a single one in Japan
or Canada Vietnam also has good ones
So right from the start I found myself out of my comfort zone
On my first days I decided to take it slow
I went for morning walks tried some Vietnamese food and drank a lot of coffee
And slowly I began to appreciate the city
This is where I first experienced the hospitality of the Vietnamese people
I met up with a local who gave me a tour of the city on his motorbike The
streets here are crazy and there were times when I thought it would crash
But I'm still alive to see the sights of Saigon
Learning history at places like the Houchi Tunnels where I saw booby traps and war tanks
It's more than a tour even crawling through underground passages used by soldiers during the Vietnam War
This understanding made me feel like every time I moved to
a new place it feels like going to a new chapter in a book
And so with that mindset I packed my bags for a flight to Hanoi
At this point it feels like I've had too much of city life
Craving nature I checked into my hostel in Hanoi and took a 5-hour bus the next day for the Ha Giang Loop
Ha Giang is Vietnam's northernmost province and known as the country's final frontier
It's also home to the iconic Ha Giang Loop and before I even went to Vietnam
This was always recommended by travelers online I hear stories of breathtaking views and cultural
immersions that become their most memorable memories in the country
so I know I had to try this myself
Whether riding alone or with an easy rider the views lived up
to the hype making it one of the highlights of my Vietnam journey
It wasn't just about the scenery There
was something special almost emotional about the tour
Connecting with easy riders making new friends and dancing with the locals
These connections become the best part of the trip
When my Ha Giang Loop experience ended it was time to say goodbye to the friends I met who were heading back to Hanoi
As for me I'm taking another overnight bus to Sapa
After three days of being surrounded by people it feels a bit scary to be waiting for the bus alone again
Sapa is a district located in northern Vietnam
It offers perfect terrain for hiking and enjoying the stunning views of its rice fields
My day started at my hostel where I waited for my guide to arrive
Together we navigated the slippery paths to our village joined by friendly locals
sharing stories of their culture and their daily lives in the small villages
Trekking through the Sapa rice fields feels like traveling inside a living painting
There are moments when I can't help but pause to soak in and appreciate the beauty around me
The tours in Sapa are usually led by local guides and hearing their stories gave me a different perspective
While the rice terraces provided me with adventure and relaxation for them it's their daily hustle
Seeing farmers already working in the fields while we enjoy breakfast highlighted the hard
work behind their way of life This made me appreciate the privileges I have in life
If the Ha Giang Loop tour was an adrenaline rush Sapa is the opposite It encouraged
me to slow down connect with nature and immerse myself in Vietnam's communities
At the end of the tour we returned to the Lustig Hostel
And from there we boarded our bus to Hanoi all set for a nearly 6-hour scenic drive
After almost a week away from the city I'm ready to return because I can't leave the country without exploring Hanoi
And going into it I can't help but ask myself am I ready for
all the motorbikes again But the
experience was more than that
There were temples Insight everywhere showing me
the spiritual side of the people and Hanoi is also
budget-friendly so I went all out on all the new Vietnamese cuisines I discovered around the city
Once I learned to embrace the chaos I started discovering the real charm of Hanoi
At the end of the day I decided to relax by the nearby Ho Kim
Lake Here locals and tourists gather with family and friends
This is what I like about Hanoi or Vietnam in general despite
the hustle they make it a point to connect with their loved ones
And that pretty much sums up the biggest lesson Vietnam taught
me to detach and make time for people or things that matter most
Vietnam and I had a slow start I was overwhelmed
by the initial chaos I experienced but
like meeting a new person sometimes you just
need to give it time to know and appreciate it
I think that's how I felt about Vietnam
Uneasy at first but once I discovered
more Vietnamese food connected with people despite the language barrier
And of course learned how to cross the streets with
confidence I have to admit I began to love Vietnam
And just when I was getting lost in Vietnam 's
charm my two weeks in the country was
already over I've explored a lot but there's so much more to discover in Vietnam
Leaving me with more excitement for my next adventure which is Thailand
