A City's Sorrow: Mother's Day at Bondi Junction Westfield #GJWMothersDay2024

On May 12th, #Mother's Day, at #Bondi Junction #Westfield in #Sydney, there were no grand celebrations for Mother's Day, no noisy advertisements, and no loud music. Perhaps this was out of respect for the victims.

A month ago, on April 13th, Bondi Junction Westfield experienced a vicious knife attack resulting in the death of six people and injuries to several others. Two mothers lost their lives in this attack.

Bondi Junction Westfield was closed for several days and reopened on the 19th. On this Mother's Day, there was no previous hustle and bustle; security guards were visible everywhere, and stab-proof vests were provided.

Is time a soothing balm for pain? Those scars hidden deep in the heart cannot be expected to be healed by the passage of time. What can mend those scars is not time but #love, #kindness.

There is a ray of light that never breaks! We call for kindness, to heal others, and to heal ourselves!
