Victims of Alleged Child Sex Abuse at Illinois Detention Facilities Speak Out

Survivors who say they were sexually assaulted as youth while in Illinois juvenile detention centers have come forward with their stories. They are three of 95 men and women suing the state.

A co-attorney in the lawsuit said the alleged acts were carried out by staff, guards, administrators, and other employees of the State of Illinois.

The cases span across 21 years from 1996 to 2017.
