Hi everyone, my name is Melody and I am from Paris.
I love art and finding beauty in everyday life.
Today I have been invited by Parisian Vibe
to talk about the elegant spring wardrobe
and some essential pieces to welcome spring with.
We have put together four looks
and I hope you will find some inspiration for your spring wardrobe.
Let's begin!
For me, Parisian spring style is timeless and elegant,
yet practical,
and having the ability to effortlessly capture
the essence of chic sophistication
becomes essential
when we are shifting from colder to warmer seasons.
Layering with smart material
for a traditional capsule wardrobe
with chic pieces
that you can style in various ways is key.
I would say my style in spring
is very versatile,
feminine and effortless.
I love layering pieces
that will keep me warm yet comfortable at the same time,
as well as making me feel chic and elegant
in whatever condition.
My essentials in spring would have to be a trench coat,
which is everybody's favorite in spring,
especially in Paris.
I also love ballet flats or ballerines,
as we call them in France.
They're very cute and feminine at the same time
with a touch of retro, which I love.
My last essential in spring would be knitwear.
I love to wear them in pretty colors,
especially pastel or neutrals,
and I find that they look so great
with a dress or a skirt.
It's that time of the year when I'm craving sunshine,
and adding a touch of subtle spring color
to my outfit becomes a necessity.
So for this look, I have chosen
a sun-kissed collared cozy sweater
paired with a pair of white wide-legged trousers.
Since the weather gets warmer and drier,
one can finally wear white pants,
like the ones that I'm wearing today,
without the fear of getting them dirty.
I feel like white is a more difficult color
in terms of care,
but it definitely adds sophistication
and chicness to any outfit.
These wide-legged wrinkle-resistant silk pants
will be a staple in my spring capsule wardrobe,
as they can easily transition
into my summer wardrobe,
considering the color and the breathable fabric.
March and April are still pretty cold in Paris,
so I would layer this outfit
with a light jacket or a trench coat.
The trench coat is definitely
one of the essentials of any Parisian wardrobe.
This look is perfect for the first Aperol spritz
or a café on a terrace in Paris.
Being in a transitional season in Paris,
layering becomes essential,
as the mornings can be really cold,
but as the day goes on,
the air starts to warm up.
This is one of my favorite ways to layer in spring,
to still look very classic and chic,
with jeans and an elegant white silk V-neck blouse
with pleats designs on the cuffs as the base.
This is a look you will see on many Parisian girls
all year round.
The bow and the cuffs are rather feminine and flirtatious,
which goes so well with such a romantic city as Paris.
Since we are in between seasons,
I have chosen to layer it
with a navy blue merino wool cardigan.
This one is really elegant,
as it almost looks like a little blazer jacket,
still thin enough to layer under my trench coat.
This look is something I could wear
to a casual business meeting,
as well as to a date night with my boyfriend or my friends.
The cut and the classic navy collar
makes it rather timeless and easy to incorporate
and mix with a variety of pieces
to create different outfits.
For this look, I am keeping the jeans as my base,
but changing my top into a classic French-striped one.
Spring seasons, as we already talked about,
could be both cold and warm.
Thus, I feel like the thickness of this particular top
makes it perfect for the season,
as it is neither very thick nor very thin.
The fact that it is made out of silk is another benefit,
since it will keep me warm when it's colder,
yet it feels light and breezy when it becomes warmer.
I absolutely love this top,
and it's made out of 100% machine-washable spun silk,
giving me the benefits of wearing good materials,
yet easy to care for.
When I am pairing it with my jeans,
it is really giving away that chic Parisian everyday look
that I love.
Spring means that we start spending more time outside
as it gets warmer,
in parks, afternoon walks by La Seine,
or on the famous Parisienne Terrace.
With the warmer weather,
we naturally start exposing more of what we wear under our coats,
rather than keeping the focus on the actual outerwear.
When the sun comes out,
I want to stay comfortable yet chic.
For this look, I have changed my jeans
into this mid-length striped skirt,
also made of 100% machine-washable spun silk,
a perfect mix of elegance and comfort,
which makes me feel very feminine.
Pairing it with the striped top is definitely a bolder choice,
which I think can feel a little bit overwhelming for some.
But these two pieces can easily be styled separately
and in many different ways,
making them two excellent pieces for my spring capsule wardrobe.
When the weather finally allows you to show a little skin,
I am choosing to do it with no socks in my ballerinas.
This is really one of my first signs of spring.
That was my four looks for a Parisian spring capsule wardrobe.
I hope you feel inspired by the outfits we have put together
and by the ways we can layer smart and chic in a transitional season.
Thank you for watching! Bye bye!
