The off-road section of the Colle delle Finestre is relatively short and best approached from the north if you want to ride the off-road section uphill. The road starts out as a single track paved road with many hairpin turns and about half way up the road surface turn to gravel. At the top you can visit the old fortress and enjoy the amazing view. The east entrance to the Strada dell' Assietta is only a few kilometers away from that point.
Absolutely senseless heating up.
But that's how it has to be.
So we're coming up the north side of the Finestra Pass.
The initial plan was to come down here, but because we had to get Jochen home so he can pick up his bike,
we'll actually take his camper and we're going to meet him, help him load the bike.
So we're going to go the other way.
But this, whoa.
Haha, look at that tent.
Yeah.
There are actually cars coming down here.
You've got to be kidding.
Anyway, this is going to turn into some kind of a gravel road.
Hopefully with a single track.
Finally, the off-road section we were waiting for.
Haha.
I mean the on-road was pretty cool too.
It's more of a single trail, but we came here for this.
So guys, we're at the top of the Col de Finestra, which is a really nice ride up.
Half of it was paved, the rest was gravel road.
It's really beautiful up here.
