Here we are next to Rio. Boulder looked pretty small in a picture and it looks even smaller in
real life. So we're gonna move on. So we might finish with just a little beach time and then
train at the gym. We'll see. We are in climbing gym in Rio and we're outside getting some fresh air
aka humid air. We're drinking some water out here. We got to do a little training session
at the Evoluzão climbing gym. After that we give a little workshop to the local climbers. We're
here as part of the big travel and we like to meet the local community so that's why we are
here and we're super happy to see a lot of faces. Tonight we just want to share our knowledge. This
little flow chart can really help you break down visually how you need to improve just all around
your climbing and then how you can get better for your project specifically. Whether that's
a route in the gym or a route outside. After the workshop it was nice that everybody stayed
around and we did a little slideshow about our trip. Ipanema time!
We did a lot of sightseeing in Rio. There are just so many different things to see either
downtown or beaches. Josh, do you want to try it? You don't want to? No.
Our favorite place which we kind of find by accident was a very big fair where we got to
experience the local music and so the local dance and the local dancer.
Just upstairs.
One thing we've been really enjoying about Brazil it's the food. I feel like we're back in Serbia
because we are having more meat than we can eat but it's being hand delivered on giant skewers.
5 a.m we're in our Airbnb up and ready to climb the Sugarloaf. Getting to our Uber.
5 30 a.m and it feels like noon. We are arriving at the base of the cliff.
Josh is taking off. First pitch. Cammy her climber since today. I am belaying Charlotte and Cammy up.
They're down there. You can't see Cammy yet but Charlotte is there. It's almost over Cammy.
It's not almost over. It actually hasn't even really started.
Hello from the first anchor and Josh is leading us again. These girls smell.
Second anchor. Can't really see them down there but they're down there. Oh you can see.
Pretty sick. Put your arm up.
Reaching the second anchor. What's up? Second anchor. Cammy is kicking ass. Josh is pulling her
and I'm just following. I got the good job. Doing a little bit of traverse. There's the crew down
there. Hello. Third pitch which is also the fourth pitch. She's gardening. Got the mini
tracks going on here for Cammy. Those cruxy sections. Hey welcome to my living room.
Yeah we could baby here. Well the whole goal of waking up early and
getting after it was to try to beat the sun. The sun is just peaking around the corner
meaning we're gonna boil soon. How many pitches left? Three maybe. Almost there.
You know what I'm excited about? To see monkeys up there. That could be a good hold
but uh it's not. Oh yes another nice belay ledge. Welcome to the fortress.
This is the end. Last pitch.
I just made it up to the top. There's some people hanging up there and that thing comes out.
We're almost there dude.
Hello Cammy. That's a nice view. Yeah this is uh quite the exit. Last climb Cammy.
Boom and now we're tourists. Let's eat. Cheers guys. To Shirlo.
What are we doing Charlotte? We're leaving. We're leaving Rio.
She's going back to France. So we're gonna get in the taxi cab with one.
11 bags in the taxi. Got our crash pads, climbing gear, computers, camera gears.
Hey Charlotte. Hey we traveled together again. We haven't been on a plane together since Tasmania.
We're walking to our gate now. I'm going to Belo Horizonte. Leaving Rio and leaving you for this
vlog. See you next week for the next vlog. We'll be in Cerrado Sipo where we'll be doing a lot of
sport climbing.
