Hello and welcome back. Today I'm going to show you how to make a classic creamy macaroni and
cheese in the oven. Now let's get started by bringing our pot of water up to a boil.
Salt your water and make sure that it comes up to a vigorous boil before you add your macaroni.
Today I'm using a whole box of elbows. I'm going to cook as directed on my package. Hang tight.
Next you want to place your pot on a medium heat and add four tablespoons of butter.
As soon as your butter melts you're going to add two tablespoons of all-purpose flour.
Give that a quick mix. You've got to cook that flour because you don't want this to taste like
a raw mac and cheese. That roux is going to do wonders to our creamy macaroni. 20 to 30 seconds
is a good enough time to cook the flour and now you're going to add three cups of milk.
You can use whole milk or two percent for best flavor.
And to make our macaroni and cheese even creamier we're going to use five ounces of evaporated milk.
Let that cook for another minute and a half before we start adding our cheese.
You'll need one cup of white cheddar and one and a half to two cups of medium cheddar.
Once your white cheese melts you're going to start adding your cheddar.
Once all your cheese melts you're going to lower your temperature to a medium low heat
and we're going to start adding our seasoning. You'll need one tablespoon of onion powder,
half a tablespoon of garlic powder. Make sure you fully combine
each ingredient before you add the next to avoid clumping. One teaspoon of white pepper,
one teaspoon of smoked paprika, and one teaspoon of salt.
Now we're ready to place our ingredients into a baking dish.
Lastly you're going to sprinkle your desired amount of cheese over the top
and you're going to place it in the oven at 325 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
As always Claude and I are wishing you the best. We absolutely adore you. We hope you enjoyed
today's classic macaroni and cheese and on that one we'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye!
