We are here in Maples this morning trying to get some bread and maybe a coffee for breakfast.
We saw this little place so we thought we'd pull in right here
and uh gonna go see what they got fresh, okay? Come along.
Si, let me try one, due. Grazie. I think I'm gonna try a piece of the focaccia. Is that focaccia?
Si, due, due. Due? I'm not gonna finish that. Okay, uno, uno. Sorry, pardon, pardon. Si. Okay, perfecto.
We are bread monsters. Yeah, no, because we're hungry. But the bread here is...
Oh, okay. Oh, sorry, here or here? Ah, okay. Oh, wow.
Very cool. Grazie mille.
Of course, baby. Thank you. Look at this view. I love the mountain. It's so beautiful here.
So beautiful. Hello. Oh my god. Hey, Antonio. Antonio? No, Antonio. Oh, sorry.
Hi, you're so cute.
Okay, come, come.
So cute. Grazie.
Grazie.
Beautiful. Bye-bye. Sorry.
Ah, okay. So, there's sale. Buongiorno.
So, they only sell machines there. Caffè, what, cappuccino? Ah, yes, please. Due cappuccino, por favor.
Buongiorno. Como estai? Bene?
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna say hello. Buongiorno.
Ah, okay. Sorry. Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you.
La cultura, la comida, la vistas, la historia, todo.
Donde vienes, usted? De Canadá. Sí, Toronto.
Video for Guadalajara también. Oh my god.
Buena gente. What nice people.
Come have some caffè. Okay, thank you.
Martin, you wanna know what's going on?
Here, Memo, try your pancito. Okay.
So, let's try the pan. Let's try the bread.
So good. I know. I was already telling them.
Napoli, cappuccino, vibration.
Well, guys, we're leaving. We're gonna spend two more nights there.
Okay, travel family, we are arriving into Rome.
We're just trying to get our way to the hotel, check in a little.
I'm gonna show you a bit of the streets of Rome.
At least as you're entering into the city center.
Come along.
So, we're looking for Hotel Dona Laura Palace.
It's a beautiful four-star hotel.
This is a nice area. I really like all these trees. Very pretty.
It's nice to see trees in city centers.
Dona Laura. Dona Laura Palace.
This is Dona Laura? We're looking for Dona Laura.
No, this is Dona Laura.
Wrong hotel.
I'm joking.
Okay, familia, so this is it.
Dona Laura Palace.
As you can see, looks nice and cute.
Something I always look for when we book hotels are balconies.
Because a lot of the hotels I notice here in Italy do not have them.
And, you know, I like to get outside and enjoy the air.
And sit around, have a coffee.
Yeah, super excited to be here in Rome.
Thank you, Rome, for having us.
I know you deal with a lot of tourists here.
So, we'll make sure we do you proud.
And, yeah, we're gonna show you around, familia.
Once we get up into the lobby area.
Give you a walk around the hotel.
Show you the room.
And then onwards and upwards to explore...
Rome!
Our final destination in our Italian road trip.
Recepcion.
Grazie.
Buongiorno.
Signor Vivaldi.
So, this is the hotel.
This is like a little restaurant.
Not little.
Just a restaurant.
Buongiorno.
Welcome to Donna Laura Palace.
Grazie mille.
Buongiorno.
Ok, familia, we are here.
And Maribel's gonna show us the room.
We're gonna start with the bathroom.
Ok.
We have the sink.
We have this tub.
We've got a shower.
The bidet, the toilet.
Lots of towels.
We have me.
And the hair dryer here.
Lots of towels.
Soap, cups.
Tons of hair wash.
Body wash.
Body lotion, which Maribel has needed very badly.
And conditioner.
Hair balm.
Shower cap.
Shower sponge.
Vanity kit.
No conditioner?
Shower gel, shampoo.
No conditioner, no.
Ok, so I'll have to still buy one.
Ok, that's fine.
Closets.
Closet.
Extra blankets.
Maribel likes a heavy blanket.
And this is extra.
Just more storage space.
And the safe.
Coffee machine.
Cups for the espresso.
Espresso machine.
Nice big flat screen.
TV.
Wow, look at this.
Beautiful wall mural.
I think that's Napoleon.
No?
It looks like.
No.
It's not a gigantic room, Familia.
But from what I understood here in Rome,
a lot of the rooms are rather on the small side.
But it's very beautiful.
Beautiful desk for working.
Mini fridge.
So important here, guys.
Alright, couple bottles of water.
Three.
Beautiful.
Onto the balcony.
Which like I said, for us is very important.
Cute little table and chairs.
We've got some construction going on.
I think they've got a new property going in next door.
Very pretty as well.
And that's the street we arrived in on, Familia.
That is the room tour and the hotel tour.
Okay, Familia.
We are here up in the hotel room.
Sitting on the balcony.
And it started to come down pretty hard.
The rain.
Wind was kind of swirling.
Raining pretty good.
So we're killing a little bit of time here on the balcony.
And then we're just going to go out.
And try to grab some food then.
Maybe to wait out the rain.
Okay, Familia.
We got a little break in the rain.
So we are off finally.
We're going to make our way into the
Centro Historica.
Area of
Rome. Sorry guys.
I'm a little lost for words right now.
We got a break in the rain.
So let's go.
Okay.
Now into wandering the streets of Rome.
No, not shoe stores.
We're seeing sites.
I don't know.
They're pretty old buildings.
Look at the statues on top there.
Oh, look at the angels.
Angels. And then the Pope over there.
Bishops.
A couple friars.
See, Familia.
And these are public water fountains.
So if you want to bring your
bottle and refill it.
They've got these public fountains here.
That are great for drinking.
No problem at all.
Old style pharmacy.
Maddy's looking for some body cream.
Even the pharmacies are cute here in Rome.
I don't like it
too fancy.
I don't like raw beef carpaccio.
And truffle this.
And confit this.
It's not for me, man.
Who cooks that at home?
I like home style cooking, you know what I mean?
Here we go, we've got a menu right up here.
Let's go take a look.
Super cute street too.
Okay, Travel Family.
So we found this really cute
restaurant here called
Osteria della Vite.
It's so beautiful
as you can see here.
Nice little patio.
It's starting to rain again a little.
But you know what?
It just adds to the ambience.
Makes it a little bit more romantic.
And yeah.
So we ordered.
Thank you so much.
We ordered our first round of food.
So our starters.
We're both going with pasta tonight.
Okay, Familia.
Maddy, give them the update.
Okay, so the update is
it started raining
really hard.
She was dry
but I was getting really wet.
Yeah, and he kept saying, no, no, I'm fine.
Let's go. I'm going to go inside.
Let's see if they can find
a table.
It was a little tight
but there.
So there's people
standing right there because they're waiting for
table. Anyway, so we are inside.
Delicious.
It's aperol and
prosecco, which is white wine.
Yeah, like a sparkling white wine.
Okay, Familia, our first course
has arrived. Maddy Bell's fettuccine
with truffles and porcini mushrooms
has arrived. And look at the way they serve it.
In the saute pan that they made it.
So cool. Keeps it warmer too.
And Maddy, how is it?
Delicious.
Delicious?
My. Fettuccine
Alfredo has arrived.
Let's give it a little toast.
Salud. This one's for your travel family.
Okay, Familia.
Our second dishes have arrived.
Maddy Bell ordered a stewed swordfish
platter with olives, cherry
tomatoes, and a stewed
tomato sauce. Looks really delicious.
I'll show you, give you a close-up.
Here's the fish.
Okay, let's try this.
Oh, that's a tough one.
Two.
Oh, really bad.
Grazie.
Mine is a veal cutlet sauteed with
prosciutto and sage.
So let me give that a try.
Tender.
Flavorful.
So much thinking.
Finish eating this. Maybe Maddy will finish hers.
We will see.
And then after this, we're going to hit
the streets of Roma and try to do some
exploration, okay?
Grazie.
Familia, we are done dinner
and I am stuffed.
Wow.
I ate three veal cutlets, a salad,
and an order of fettuccine Alfredo.
Very nice, guys.
Maddy Bell had the stewed swordfish,
which, honestly, guys, it was not good.
But her truffle pasta
with the porcini mushrooms was delicious.
And she had
a salad as well.
We had...
What did you have to drink, Neema?
Oh, yeah.
The Aperol Spritz, and I had two
Coca-Colas, and the total bill was
81 euros, so
$120
Canadian.
To give you some perspective, they were very nice guys.
Hard workers.
We are going to go to the Trevi
Fountain, a very famous fountain
here in Rome.
It was made by
Bernini himself,
and in case you don't know who Bernini is,
Bernini was a very, very famous
sculptor here in Italy,
and he actually
coined the style known as the
Baroque style of
sculpture and architecture,
which Italy is very
famously known for.
So we're going to go check out the fountain that he designed,
and hopefully, because it's
nighttime and it was raining,
there'll be less people, so we can get some better photos
and show you guys better.
Stick around.
You want it?
$1.50 only.
Thank you, sir.
Appreciate it. Have a good night.
Okay.
Now we're going to make our way over to the
Piazza Navona, which is a
very, very, very famous plaza here
in Rome, so
let's go over now that way,
and check it out and knock one more thing off
our list tonight.
If we can knock three things off our list tonight,
I think we've done well.
But if Maribel
keeps getting distracted,
no more purses.
You've got seven purses.
We're going to get stopped
at the border coming back. They're going to think you're some
illegal leather importer.
We don't need to get that today.
No, no, no. For tomorrow, look.
This is very pretty.
Look, Roma.
Guys, I swear
I love her dearly, but it's
sometimes it's like touring with a little kid.
Look, she stopped to buy
a pink toy
just because it's squishy and makes a
noise.
Alright, familia, I managed
to get Mari back on track.
The distractions are minimalized
for the moment.
Because she knows it's true. That's why she's
laughing.
Literally, guys,
if I wasn't
holding her
to the itinerary, I don't think we would see
anything tonight.
27 BC.
A really
popular little street here.
We've arrived at the Pantheon.
Are you excited? Are you ready?
We're about to reveal it.
Oh, pretty, guys.
The history in this city, it's unreal.
Okay, travel family, this is our last
pit stop for tonight.
Welcome to Piazza Navona.
This is known as the
hub of Rome.
And I will show you why they call it that.
Let's go.
Guys, we're running.
We have less than 7%.
3% battery.
Yes.
And everything looks the same here.
Plaza Bonaparte.
It's right there.
Okay, tomorrow.
So we're here.
Take a picture of where you parked on your
Google Map so you can find your way back.
Oh, my goodness.
Literally, 2%
of what our Google Map has done.
We
have to actually sprint.
That's why we
sprint for, like, what?
One minute?
That's why I have to stop
filming.
Because I have to pay
attention to this
floor.
Oh, gosh.
We made it.
Okay.
Once again.
Alright, guys.
So we're
going to go to the hotel.
Holy cow.
That was an amazing
ride. That was an adventure.
Either way, Familia, we're going to cut
the video here tonight.
Thank you so much for sticking us out with that
tour. It was an intense one. We saw a
lot tonight. And with the running today.
Oh, yeah. We saw a lot.
We'll be back tomorrow to see more with you
guys. So thank you so much for tuning in.
If you enjoyed the video, please give us
a thumbs up. I was running. If you haven't
subscribed, please subscribe. Drop a comment
below if you think we said any
of the names wrong, got any of the info
wrong. Please correct us. We will not be
offended. So thank you so much from
the bottom of our hearts. See you tomorrow
morning, Familia. See you tomorrow. And as Maribel
says, stick around.
Ciao. Have a great night, guys.
We love you.
We're in room 214.
So let's go.
Or is it the other way?
412.
Or is it 412?
Baby, we're in number 4.
We're in 4th floor.
We're in 4th floor, baby.
We're in 412.
We're not in floor 2.
It looks like 214.
Baby.
We're in...
We're just riding.
412.
Okay, let's find out
if it's...
4...
4 upside down.
Are you serious, baby?
So we're in number 2?
I can't think so.
Okay, guys. Is that
21 with a 4 upside
down? Or is it 412?
Baby, we're in number 2 there.
So we're in number...
Did we just jump into a different dimension?
We're in number 4.
I swear. I swear.
I swear, baby.
I swear.
I was convinced we were in 412.
I think this is a problem.
No.
What do you mean that we're in 412?
That's so weird.
Okay, familia.
Good night. We clearly need to sleep.
Baby, I swear.
This is weird, right?
I was convinced we were in 412.
Oh, my God.
What's going on?
Holy cow.
This night was crazy.
So we'll see you tomorrow, guys.
Please stick around.
Bye-bye.
