Khatia Buniatishvili was born on June 21, 1987 in Batumi. She is a prominent concert pianist of Georgian origin who currently resides in Paris and obtained French nationality in 2017.

From an early age, Khatia Buniatishvili began studying piano under the tutelage of her mother, following in the footsteps of her sister Gvantsa. At the age of six, she had already given her first concert with the Chamber Orchestra in Tbilisi. From the age of ten, she began to give concerts in various countries, such as Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Israel and the United States.

After graduating from the Central School of Music in Tbilisi, Khatia entered the Tbilisi State Conservatory in 2004 to continue her musical training.

Despite having perfect pitch and having chosen the violin, Buniatishvili opted for the piano, which she describes as a "symbol of musical loneliness."
