People deluded, I'm back again. North London, Derby settings. I had to get George in the
building. Enemy line settings on Sunday. How you doing, my guy?
Yeah, man. I'm good.
I'm good, my bro. I'm good. I can tell you now. I'm feeling good for this game.
I'm feeling confident. The results don't show us, but...
I've seen you tweeting, man. You know what? Let's jump straight into it,
because as we both know, phone goes out the window in the North London Derby,
but why are you so confident? Why is there a smile on your face?
Like the Gunners are coming into town.
It's exactly this. The arrogance of Arsenal fans. Even without saying anything,
I know Arsenal fans are looking at this game. They're oozing that source they had prior to
the Aston Villa game, where they thought it's a foregone conclusion. We're better than these
boys. We know that we've got something for them. As long as we play our game,
we're going to beat them. That's the attitude that Arsenal fans have had a lot of this season.
I think the team has replicated that as well in some of the games they've gone into.
What, arrogance?
It's arrogance.
Our team's had arrogance? That's harsh, man. You're chatting. Where's this arrogance?
Give me examples, man.
The Aston Villa game, exactly that.
You reckon that's arrogance?
Do you know what it is? I think that you guys saw the result. You saw Liverpool drop points.
And to you, prior to the game, it was like, the game's done. We're going to beat these boys.
And the first half, you lot went out there. You played your game and you were better than them,
100%. But in the second half, it showed the arrogance because the game wasn't done,
but the Arsenal players stepped off the pedal and Aston Villa took advantage of that.
And I've got a feeling this game may be very similar to that. I think you guys are going
to have your spurs. I think Arsenal are going to play some good football and you're probably
going to break us down at times. But I think that we've got something for you,
especially after having a two-week break. I would usually say that, look, for Matt's sharpness,
two weeks off isn't really a good thing. You're not going to be feeling it as much.
But for the fact that we've had two weeks solely just to prepare for this game, just to look at
this game and see.
You're not used to that, man. You have to send a shut spot.
No, do you know what? Even though we've had two weeks to prepare, the pressure's on you, man.
Let's be real. We haven't got anything to achieve this season, man.
You're giving up on top four?
I wouldn't say we've given up. I'd say that Aston Villa have got a very strong position.
And prior to even our game, they're playing Chelsea. If they beat Chelsea,
they're already nine points clear of us in that top four position. Although we have three games
in hand, the three games in hand are Arsenal, Chelsea, City. So it's not even like... It's
techy because the three games in hand are not games that you really want to go into.
At this point in the season as well.
Exactly that. But also, it could work in our favour because the Arsenal game's obviously
going to be a hard one. But Liverpool, their season's pretty much done when we play them.
Chelsea, the season's done when we play them. City, obviously, it depends how this game goes.
The season could be over when we play them as well.
You're not bending over backwards for City, man. 100%. 100%, you're not bending over.
That's the one time you are not going to look like the Spurs side that typically plays City
and gives them a tough day. You lot are giving that up, man. Million percent.
We're not going to play as hard as we want to, especially because this is going to be the second
last game of the season. We're playing midweek as well. I think we're the only game on that midweek.
A couple of days after our Liverpool game. Because we've literally got... After the
Assassins, we've got four games in 12 days, I think it is. So it's going to be a tight schedule
for us to end the season. But do you know what? Again, it's one of those things where I'm looking
forward to all the games. I think if we can get a good result here, it's going to build on to how
we end the season. But for you guys, man, let me ask you, how are you feeling for this game?
Pressure's a privilege, isn't it? Obviously, I think, how long you got, mate? That's a good
question, really. First thing I would say is obviously Liverpool Everton. Nine times out of
ten, Liverpool whoop them, whoop the floor with them. This point of the season, bookie things
happen. So I disagree with you thinking Arsenal internally are arrogant. I think there's an
element of complacency. But for me and the fans, and I can't speak for Arsenal fans,
all of them, we know they're special. But for me with myself, the form thing. I'm confident,
don't get twisted, I'm confident in how we've been playing. I'm confident we can give you a
game. I'm confident that if we do what we need to do, we can get three points. But if you lot
were doing what you've previously been doing at some points in the season, if you were in relative
good form, because there's a contrast, I'd have a lot more optimism per se beyond a certain point.
But it's because your form's on the floor, ultimately these games mean something to the
fans. I think your players can kind of ride off that force. Obviously, as well, you've had some
disappointing results. So it's a nervy one. Last season was a step in the right direction. I've
seen my team win the league at your ground. Then there's been a period where we haven't,
but it's light work, isn't it? But we've gone from that to there's a period up until last season
where we're not really getting nothing from you lot. So I want to know what these players are on.
We've got a target on our backs. We've got you, man. We've got Man United at home. Obviously,
you two are, you lot are not really rivals, but there's hell of rivals. So it's going to be a
difficult one. But I'm fairly optimistic, man. Obviously, you're going to be scared of the sun.
Madison's form, you know, it's been kind of terrible of late. Games like this, he'll be up
for. I'm a bit more optimistic because you can't rule out anyone with injuries because we've
struggled with that ourselves and pulled off some results. But it seems like you lot's form,
your injuries, the fan base is a bit mixed. Let's just roll up into town and do what we do,
isn't it? Really and truly. Kai Havertz is bagging. Saka's bagging. I know that much.
I know that much. I know that much. And I think it's weird because I feel both teams
kind of shoot themselves in the foot. Like with you lot, I like, don't get twisted. I think
Posta Kogli is doing good things. I think he's, you know, you look at the fact that Ten Hag's
been at United for a gazillion years. He's been there two minutes. You can already see his style
of play. All of those things. Players that you probably agree, some of them that were seen as,
rubby at Spurs. He's got a trick out of them up until a point. So he's doing good things.
But I think you lot are naive. I think you lot just commit to playing one way. And I think if
you lot try to go gunshot for gunshot with us and we don't bring the arsehole that was at the
Emirates, it's peak. So I wouldn't- I'm not lying though. When you look at the first game that we
had, we were going machine for machine with you guys. We weren't shooting ourselves in the foot,
bro. Liar, bro. First 20 minutes, you should have been done. Declan Rice came off loud, man. There
was no gunshot for gunshot, man. It was stupid moments. Liar, bro. Liar, bro. Liar, bro. There's
always going to be moments, but I feel like in these games, these games are made off of moments
and you guys can control a lot of the fixtures. And I think, to be honest, this is what I'm
confused about because I've seen some Arsenal fans say that you're going to come and play this game
similar to the way you did against Man City, which I disagree wholeheartedly. Go out there and do
what we need to do. That's what I need to see, Arsenal. It is. It would be smart for you guys
to come out pragmatic because to be honest, I'm more worried if you come out that way.
If you guys do this pragmatic football sitting a bit deep, Tottenham don't create like that. We're
poor against low blocks. I mean, Maddison has that sort of passing him where you can do the
line breaking thing, but it's not really his forte. I think he's better when we're going back
and forth in between the game and the game's constantly transitioning. It's going to be a
bit more for him, a bit more space on the ball. But if you guys do the low block thing, we haven't
got no dangerous strikers like that. Someone that's going to be able to dominate the box
and we're going to have to thrive off of Son's movement. And that's just not something that I
can feel comfortable going into the game. But yeah, man, like if you guys set up and you're
trying to do this, you know, come to our ground, take the game to us. That's where I feel the
confidence and that's where I gain the confidence because we have the wingers, man. We have the fast
players and we've seen before that we kill teams on the transition. When we're referring to strictly
pace, we have the wingers. Let me, let me clarify that.
Our wingers are athletes, innit? Like they're running straight lines, but that's it. Like
when it comes to actually finishing in front of goal, the confidence isn't there. But
do you know what? I'm looking forward to seeing how they start out the teams.
When you're saying Kaya Havertz and Saka is bagging.
He's bagging. They're bagging. They're bagging. I'm talking in English. Saka's bagging.
Because I don't at your tweets, but I see them. Saka needs to score. I see everything.
If Saka scores, he's scoring a penalty, man. He's not going to, he ain't got nothing to do with this
game. As long as it's on the score sheet, it don't matter, bro. Who scores a goal,
Cole Palmer's living off that. I'm here for this.
Harry Kane done it for years against you, man.
Yeah, yeah.
He even done it the other day. It was just two weeks ago.
It's needed. But like, do you know what? The 1v1 battles are going to be key. I do think those
1v1 battles, if Saka's going to, because obviously there's no Udoji for us this weekend. So that
right wing, Saka, if he doesn't have a good game, there's got to be some more questions around this
guy. I know obviously he could be carrying an injury and so on, but he's looking likely he's
going to be up against Ben Davies. That's a cook sesh, man. Like, if he's not cooking Ben Davies
down that left side.
Nah, he's an experienced Welsh international, man. We've got to allow him. We've got to allow
him. I've got to make some excuses.
This is what we're doing now, yeah?
He is, bro. He's an experienced English international.
He's hella experienced, bro. Hella experienced. I mean, they talk on Saka, but 30 goals and
ultimately you live and die by your high standards. I agree with what you said about moments though,
and going back to what you said, yeah, I don't want Arsenal to come out and do this emotional
thing. As you know, this game, your players, our players, the fans, there's bare emotion.
I know what you said about top four is a bit of a myth, but your players can't believe that.
I don't think we're winning the league, but it's like 90 minutes and you can help yourself.
I don't want us to do that. I actually, I do want us to go toe to toe with you at certain
moments of the game, but as you just said there, if you struggle to break down low blocks, and
I'm sure, you know, Postakoglu and Arteta know more than us, that has to be something I want to
play on really and truly, if I'm completely honest with you. Because I think if it comes down to
brilliance, it can go left. You have got Son, who's, regardless of the scoreline, is probably
going to bag. Maddison's probably going to do his dart in celebration. But I back my players,
even someone like Kai Havertz. I back these guys to have their moments more than you lot.
I do rate you a keeper. If Romero's playing, he's getting sent off. He's 100% getting sent off.
Got done by Eddie last year as well. I can't rate him, man, dear.
Man, he's either got, I think, one of the least amount of fouls for a centre-back in the league
this season. Apart from, obviously, his few rash challenges, where he's either all the way this
way, all the way this way, where he's winning the ball cleanly, or he's just a red card challenge.
He's too tigerish at times. I like that about him, but balance.
That's the thing with Argentinian centre-backs though, isn't it? That aggression, that South
American. I feel like Gabriel's ironed it out of his game over this season, especially. He's not
been as rationed. To be honest, he's probably been your best centre-back. But that's the
bit where I'm going to look to make the biggest difference. I think Arsenal's defence against
our attack is where you guys take the most strength from this game, because our attack
hasn't really been strong for, say, all of 2024. We were banging a lot of goals prior to
leading up into 2024, and then AFCON, and Asia Cup, and everything. Since then, and since us
having our players back, the likes of Son, Basim, and we haven't really clicked. The performances
have been a bit poor. We've put some teams away, but to be honest, I'll say they're lucky. Crystal
Palace 3-1 was a lucky game. Aston Villa, I think we had them, but they got the red card with John
McGinn, which led to us scoring four against them. For this game, we're going to have to have a
change up top. Charleston, you know what? I know people don't want to hear about him.
He's jarring. He's jarring in games like this. He's jarring. I wouldn't want him to play.
I think this is the kind of game where he can thrive, because he's one of those players that
are going to press that back line. He's going to always cause a problem. To be honest, in a
derby, in a rival fixture, he's the type of player you want on the pitch. He's aggressive.
It's one of those things fans will get gassed off, and make noise, and all of that.
Exactly that. Also, do you know what? One of the biggest things is he's a danger man in the box.
I think one key area where you guys have been so strong, and where we've been weak,
set-pieces. Set-pieces cause us a problem all season.
Arteta, if you're watching this, pattern, please. Pattern, please. We ain't scored a
set-piece in a minute. I think we've got like 19. Get the 20 or four for them sides, man.
I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if you guys scored from a set-piece, but even us, I think
we've been decent on attacking set-pieces, but one of the key things about why we've been poor
is we don't really have a man in the attacking line that can jump up and win a head-off,
and sort of get themselves into positions to win those. So Richarlison, if he starts,
I think it'll play a big part into how we're going to attack you guys. But hey, look, man,
it's going to be tight regardless. I genuinely think in all areas of the pitch,
it's even. It's a lot of even battles. Even the midfield, again, like...
Nah, we should be dominating that.
Nah, that's the one where I was going to say. I was going to say we might have even.
Arsenal's midfield, I'd say definitely that's one bit of the game where I'd say I'm most worried,
because Odegaard and Rice have been, as of recent, they've been playing some really...
You mean as of recent? What do you mean by that?
No, I just mean...
They've been bowling all year, my guy.
Rice was cooking for a while, but he had a few... Let's... At the beginning of April,
he had a few weeks where he was looking at...
Yeah, when the whole team was dead, bro. He's here.
No, right, the whole team. But let's say, for example, Aston Villa game, Bayern game,
I think Odegaard played well.
Yeah, yeah.
I just can't have you slandering my guys, man. If an Arsenal fan said that, I might agree.
I can't lie.
Nah, but Odegaard, I'll say, as of recent, Odegaard's been like...
He's reached the level he's needed to at this point in the season.
You man still chatting about Maddison over Odegaard, man?
We have an uncomfortable conversation.
That conversation, it was warranted at the start of the season.
Nah, I like him. I like him, man.
Maddison was never, ever talking to Odegaard, man. I can't lie to you, man.
The funniest thing, though, I know I could probably find tweets
from you, probably even you.
I like Maddison.
When there was the links between who should we sign, Maddison or Odegaard,
all Arsenal fans were leading towards Maddison.
I promise you. I hear you. You're not wrong with that. But I promise you,
I've always been on the Odegaard hype. And you are right. On a banter aside,
there's been times where his form's kind of dipped.
I think Odegaard had a tough initial period when he signed for this club.
I don't know if you remember, he joined on loan in January.
No excuses. If you play dead, you play dead.
It's difficult for someone to really thrive in January.
Fans were onto him, let alone Maddison.
People talking about Buendia and where is he now?
I think he's at Aston Villa.
Nah, facts, like Buendia.
Yeah, so I think Odegaard's doing his thing.
I think Declan Rice, I think the third member of that midfield is difficult.
Obviously, with the way Partey played on Monday,
if he is fit, you need to play.
If we can only get two games out of you, you need to play.
With Jorginho, I like him.
If it's like a tennis match where it's end-to-end,
you saw it in the game at the Emirates.
Obviously, he made the mistake, but the games are too open.
Even if you go back and watch Chelsea at Stamford Bridge,
the game was too open.
Him and Zinni were struggling.
That's why I'm actually happy to have Partey and Tomi Assi,
because we need dons that are strong one-beat-one.
Obviously, it'd be stupid to suggest that Spurs are not going to have chances.
Madison's not going to find some passes.
Son ain't going to do this.
Lose the battles, win the war, innit?
That's what it's about.
It's just about those moments.
The only thing I'm struggling with,
and it sounds mad because we've scored a lot of goals,
it's a bit like the game at the Emirates.
It's like, we are scoring bare goals,
but who is going to put the ball in the back of the net?
I think the form's there,
but if you have a million chances, someone's got to take them.
And to be fair, your Vicario keeper,
he's up there for keepers of the season.
I can't lie, is he?
And that Van der Veen centre-halfer, I think he's got to knock.
Yeah, man.
After the last game, a lot of people have been onto him, man.
Van der Veen had a shocker against Newcastle.
Yeah, yeah. He got cooked. He got cooked. He got cooked.
He got cooked.
But no, Vicario has been class, but...
Do you know what? That's the one thing I watched.
When I was watching Arsenal against Chelsea the other day,
I was thinking, like,
although you guys managed to score five goals,
it could have well have been eight or nine.
Like, you guys...
It could have been 10, man, if I'm real with you.
Yeah, no, like, you lack killers.
Like, although you score chances,
I feel like you guys create a lot.
So it's sort of similar to Liverpool,
where you create so much, you score a lot at the same time.
A lot of averages too.
Yeah, but you have a lot of players that lack that killer instinct.
I mean, Havertz in front of goal,
sometimes he looks like he's got it,
and sometimes you're like, bro, what are you doing?
Like, you should have scored that.
And that's probably the same for him.
Like, Saka...
I don't feel like he gets as many chances as the other players
because he's more on the creative side
and he's usually doing the same, you know,
cutting off the left, kick it out of the players.
Nah, you had to, you had to, you had to, you had to, yeah.
Yeah, I had to, man.
Like, that's it.
He does the same thing every game.
And do you know what?
He takes, like, the lowest shot chance of going...
Like, the lowest chance of that shot going in.
It's always such a bad shot,
but sometimes he makes it in and, you know,
I wouldn't be surprised if he does it against us.
But that's the thing, man.
Arsenal lack killers in front of goal.
So even though you guys will probably have
a lot of chances against us, a lot of teams do.
And that's the one thing I definitely do worry about,
I suppose, is we give up a lot of chances.
There is, I think we have,
we've kept one clean sheet in the whole of 2024
and probably, like, five all season.
So team, as much as we score goals,
we always concede goals
and Arsenal are going to be able to break us down.
You guys are going to have a lot of chances.
And the one thing I'm going to be leaning on
is the fact that I hope the Arsenal players
aren't finding their shooting views
because, yeah, if you guys are feeling yourselves
like you have been in some of the other games recently,
you guys could score a few goals
and I'm definitely being honest about that.
But I've just got a feeling
that we're going to be really at the races today on Sunday.
I think we're going to be a bit more organised
than we was against Newcastle.
I think the line, the high line,
definitely needs to be something
that Ange takes into consideration
that he's dropping a bit deeper.
Because although you might not have the pace
if Martinelli doesn't start,
you've got Trossard, Jesus and Saka potentially,
or Trossard, Havertz and Saka,
it's not such a pacey front line.
But I think Trossard's movement,
he can kill a lot of man with that.
Especially when he's doing the little one-twos
and the passer move, he's a killer with that.
And he always finds himself in the right position.
So that's something we're definitely
going to have to look out for.
No, and it sounds dumb
because it's how you win football games.
But if there's one game, and you're the same,
if there's two games,
you don't want to lose or anything,
it's these ones there.
Because Spurs fans would like nothing more
than denting the title holes.
Because again, I don't think we're winning the title.
But I think it's a thing where,
of course, there's a reality,
other people could drop points,
but you need 12 points.
There you have it.
Like 12 points or nothing else.
And we've got a target on our backs.
I know people, Chelsea been ----,
but I know people looked at it this week,
like, yeah, London, Derby's, it is what it is.
We've got one of the best records
against the top six.
We need to deal with you lot.
I'm not going to lie.
I need to see sauce in that.
You know, the funniest thing is though,
Spurs have won the best records
against top six this season as well.
Of course, we've only played like,
I think we've only lost against,
who did we lose against?
We lost against Chelsea.
That's the only team we've lost against.
We beat Liverpool, beat United.
Oh, you're gassing up United?
That's light work, man.
Nah, we drew the 3-3 with them.
But that was the team where we had,
like, no centre backs that game.
And that was a good 3-3 draw, man.
That was a...
We don't, we keep clean sheets out here.
We don't know about that, man.
Nah, but we're pretty much like,
we've got a decent record.
Of course, we've still got four games,
four of those top six games to play in it.
And we'll see how it ends up
being at the end of the season.
But so far this season,
a lot of them that were happening
at the start of the season,
we played well.
I feel like we've been up
for a lot of those games.
And I'd expect similar.
I'd expect similar.
The City game was an entertaining one
as a neutral, man.
I think both, obviously,
if you can see three goals,
you shot yourself in the foot.
But as a neutral,
I think you lot coped well.
What do you make of
Posta-Koglu's first season then?
Because as a neutral,
I don't think the expectations
were that high, you know.
But I think he's brought a style of play.
I do think he's getting a tune out
of certain players.
Like going back to Ten Hag,
I do think Ten Hag's got some ---- players.
But you're not getting
the maximum out of them.
If I was the owner to say,
you need more.
I do think with Posta-Koglu,
I'm sure maybe he would say he's not.
But I think you've gone as far
with certain men as you can type of team.
So what have you made of him so far?
What was even the ambitions
in August?
Yeah, man.
So for me, like just saying
on the Ten Hag thing,
like Ten Hag's just ----, bro.
You have to look at Oliver Glasner's
Crystal Palace.
Exactly, another one.
In their two minutes.
But yeah, Posta-Koglu,
like for me,
the expectation at the start
of the season, me personally,
and I think a lot of Tottenham fans,
was that we'd probably finish
around sixth, seventh, sort of,
you know, we expected Chelsea,
you know, Man United to be a lot better.
So we didn't expect us to have
that sort of gap between them
as we have.
So far this season,
but it's been a successful season.
A hundred percent.
I have to say it's been a success
because the way that you've got
to look at it,
it's the first year,
a lot of rival fans and a lot of...
Now you don't want context
around managerial things.
I hear it, I hear it.
No, do you know what it is?
It depends.
It depends how you look at success.
Of course, when you talk about
has he been a success at Spurs,
if he ended now, no.
But has it been a successful season
for how we started?
A hundred percent,
because a lot of people think of it.
You're not on the league in September though.
No, but a lot of people still forget
that we sold Harry Kane in the summer.
Like we sold literally our best player.
We had to rebuild our whole squad.
We had to get in all these new players.
Son's there, but Son's what?
32, turning 33 now.
People are forgetting how old he's getting
because of how young he is.
He is getting on, isn't he?
Bloody hell.
He's been at Spurs from,
I think next year will be his 10th season.
He's been here for a long while
and he's literally grown
all the way through the club.
So we've had to do a whole rebuild.
We're at that position of where
Arsenal were in a few years ago.
And you know,
what was the line that we had to...
What was it?
Trust the process.
Yeah, but you might didn't have to do...
Man said rebuild.
What rebuild have you done?
The team plays are terrible.
You ain't had the old Zoubif,
Aubameyang beef.
I'm so sure we won the FA Cup
or something in his first year,
second year, whatever.
It's different here, my guy.
It's different, it's different.
It's different, it's proper different.
I love how you guys are trying to paint
like the, what do you call it?
Like the bum to millionaire story.
Arsenal fans love to do it.
Like they love to be...
It is though, it is though.
Don't make our former player retire
and then win the league title
before you, man, you know?
It's uncomfortable, bro.
That would be mad.
I can't even, like,
that would be a mad uncomfortable conversation.
But yeah, no, the way that I see it
is post the Cold Blue,
like a lot of people had us
finishing seventh, eighth, ninth.
Yeah, and he was getting boys
because he's the Australian thing
and whatnot, he was getting boys.
And it was more than warranted.
He only, he come in off of
not that much experience,
only managed at Celtic,
not really been at the top level.
And like you said,
within the first 15, 20 games,
we played some of our best football
all season.
I do think we obviously
reached a peak early on in the season
and then the summer teams
started to figure us out
how we play.
And it sort of staggered
a bit through that.
I'd say we've been inconsistent
since January, 100%.
Whether it's due to injuries,
due to players being away
or just due to performances,
they haven't always been up.
And he's even acknowledged it
in his most recent press conference.
He said, like,
it's been an up and down season.
We've been inconsistent at times,
but it's been a good start.
And you know,
for the first season,
we finished fifth,
ahead of the pack,
because that's what we are.
Similar to you guys,
you're ahead of us and Aston Villa,
but we're ahead of Chelsea,
Man United, Newcastle.
So we're in our own category
with Villa.
Although I would like to finish
top four and be like,
do you know what,
it would have been
a proper successful season
finishing above Villa.
Villa have just been,
you've got to give it to them,
give them their flowers.
And do you know what,
not just me,
most rival fans
or most fans in Football League
have been waiting for them to drop,
saying Villa are going to drop off, man.
Villa are going to drop off,
but they haven't.
They were second at one point.
People forget, like.
That's what I mean.
They were pushing for the league
in December.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, literally.
Emery was doing six.
Took four points off us.
That's what I'm saying, like.
No, it's six, it's six,
because they beat us at their place.
Yeah, yeah, they beat us
at their place.
Unai Emery's doing a job.
Like, he's doing a good job
and do you know what,
you can't take it away from them.
Just like when Newcastle
finished top four last year,
just got to give it to Villa
I ain't that bad, like,
all fussed about missing out
on Champions League next year,
because to be honest,
our squad's not ready
for the Champions League yet.
Like, we can go in there,
but similar to a lot of teams,
we're just going to be, like,
participation trolls.
That's a bit of how I feel
with the Champions League.
Like, I think considering
how we've been historically
in the Champions League,
we gave a quote unquote
good account of ourselves.
Obviously, there's things
we could have done better,
but generally,
we're not at the level
to be talking about Champions League.
We're really just there
to participate, as harsh as
that might sound.
So, I think you're
bang on the money there.
Nasa, it's literally that.
So, for me, like,
not finishing Champions League
is not a bad season.
It's not that bad, but
Host Koglu has had
a good start to his year,
good start to his campaign
as a Spurs manager.
Have to build upon it
from next season.
Of course, the pressure
starts next season.
This year, I feel like
there's been no pressure on him,
because there wasn't
that much expectation,
like you said, but
next year, the expectation,
like, he keeps saying
this team's going to be
challenging next year.
Whether I think we can
make that step, I don't know.
That's a big step between
fifth and then challenging.
It's ambitious though,
credit to him, because
he has said certain
comments like that
throughout the season.
So, he's clearly just,
he's not on a jolt thing,
to be fair to him.
Exactly that, and I just
need to see the path
and the steps towards that.
Whether having a good summer,
make sure we're signing
the right players,
making sure Timo Werner's
not one of them is key,
part of that.
Nah, keep him, man.
He's a Champions League winner.
Wealth of experience
to give to that Spurs side, man.
I haven't seen a player like him.
I know, man.
I can't stand him.
I can't stand players like him.
Similar to Brennan Johnson,
they run in straight lines.
They've not really got
the technical ability you need
to create something from nothing.
Good first season for him,
but look, I think
we could do a lot better.
I expected better.
I thought we could have done better,
but we'll build upon it
next season, man.
I don't think you're wrong, man.
I do think it's a promising season.
I just feel ultimately,
a bit like us to a degree,
and people don't see it
because we're first,
well, first, second,
wherever we are.
I don't think the squad's big enough.
I think it's a mixture of the squad
not having the most depth
and certain players,
they will play well,
but they'll take you to a limit.
Kind of what you said
about Brennan Johnson,
like he's not a bad player.
He's not particularly good,
but he can only take you
to a certain level.
And then you take players
that should be on the bench
to start games,
and then you wonder
why it's not really happening.
What have you made of
the title challenge?
Well, the title race,
better yet as a neutral,
because you know a lot
are not involved in it.
You know what?
I have to be honest,
like the title race has been,
it's been a fun one to watch.
It's been fun that it's had
a lot of ups and downs.
I've liked to see the chopping
chain of the first
and second and first.
It's good because for a long time,
we haven't seen that.
A lot of teams running first.
We've just seen City first
or similar to you saw Arsenal first,
but you knew City
was going to catch up.
It's just you sort of know
how the story is going to play out.
And this season, I can say,
I've generally not known
how it's going to play out
at any point, even now.
As much as I've maintained
City are going to win,
that's off of as much it's hope,
but it's also off of
what they've done
the previous season.
But it is hope.
It's of the hope that
Arsenal aren't going to win it
and City are finally
going to pull through,
which they've 18 games
unbeaten at the moment.
I mean, it's looking like
they probably are.
It is going to happen, man.
It is going to happen.
But the title race has been fun.
And to see Liverpool drop like
the fact that it's gone
all the way down to April
to see Liverpool drop out now
and off the back of, you know,
Arsenal lost those few games
where you lost against
or drew against Bayern,
lost against Villar
and then lost again.
And then you watch Liverpool
do the exact same thing.
I've loved it.
I've loved it,
especially from the fact
that his farewell tour
has been ruined, man.
Do you think he announced?
Because obviously,
like a lot of people are saying
and I must admit,
I'm changing my opinion.
I thought him saying,
I'm cutting,
they're going to do
the Liverpool thing,
like we're going to do this thing.
But in hindsight,
I'm starting to believe
maybe you shouldn't have
said a word, really.
Like, where are you at with that?
Yeah, I was like you at the start.
I thought, yeah,
this is the fuel
for the fire they need.
And I think it did
for maybe a few weeks,
give them fuel.
It showed them that, look,
we need to step up.
We need to give Klopp
what he needs.
And it might have helped them
in the Carabao Cup final.
But that's the Carabao Cup, bro.
No brownie points for Chelsea, man.
Literally, there's no brownie points
for beating Chelsea.
And when it comes to stepping up
in the bigger competitions
and crunch time,
they've crumbled.
I do think that the title race
has shown, and even right now,
that Liverpool probably
overachieved for a lot of the season.
They was poor at the start.
Nah, man, I get that, man.
Because Jamie Carragher
saying the overachieve thing as well.
If we're being honest,
when a lot of us watch Liverpool
at the start of the season,
even though they was winning games,
they were conceding pretty much
every game.
They've been jamming.
And yeah, and there was jamming
in a lot of those games.
And you'd probably think that
when we watch those,
I never thought that Liverpool
would be title contenders
at that point.
Of course, when they carried on winning,
we started to see, look,
this is Liverpool.
They pick up wins.
They pick up momentum.
And that's how they are.
They were top of the table
at one point as well, bro.
I can't lie.
My team didn't get them
lotteries last year.
So I ain't got them for Liverpool.
I can't lie to you.
I hear it.
I also bottled it.
But yeah.
No, I mean, you guys are good.
You're allowed to have
your opinion on it,
because at the end of the day,
they were in a very strong position.
And I see that they bottled it as well.
And I think you can view it like that.
But I also do think
that Liverpool's team just,
I never looked at the start
of the season and thought
this is a good team
that should challenge for a league.
I didn't think that they was ready
for challenging for the league.
And their team is just,
it's not that good.
I generally think that they've
so much overachieved
of what they can be,
because without Van Dijk,
without Salah,
they're so far from where they are.
Salah's been missing for weeks as well.
And he has been missing
for a few weeks.
But Liverpool, man,
like Klopp's farewell
tour is absolutely ruined.
And it's even funnier
because you keep seeing Van Dijk
come out in the interviews and go,
we've got to be better next week.
And they're just ******* worse.
And they're not playing for the manager.
They're clearly not playing
for him anymore.
Everybody's in,
I think they're in that weird space,
man, of like people
are just watershed moment.
And it's what Pep says,
I can't remember the interview
where to find it,
but Pep said something
along the lines of,
it's very easy to be motivated,
but you can lose it very quickly.
And I feel them Liverpool players,
when they've won what they've won,
done what they've done,
you know, one love for them
dealing with you lot in the champs.
I think it's hard to get galvanized
because a lot of them
might be thinking about their futures.
And I don't think they've bought well
in the last few years,
if I'm honest with you.
I don't think there's been bad players,
but Diaz, Nunes,
these guys haven't matched
what Salah's done
or what Mane's done.
McAllister's done well.
I don't know, the lights are bright
on Shabazz life,
I'm honest with you.
They were saying he's midfield
signing this season.
Calling him Hungarian Gerrard
and these things, bro.
Remember when he was touching the sign
when he signed him.
Doing too much, doing way too much,
doing way, grabbing back,
I ain't seen him really.
McAllister, sick signing.
I think that NW,
there was a stage where
he was in a good run of form,
but he was, to be fair to him,
they just bought him
because you couldn't get Lavia
in them, man,
which it's nothing to do with him,
but the recruitment's
been horrible, bro.
Nah, it has.
That's the thing,
I think going into next season
and a lot of,
they probably haven't realised yet,
but they need a proper rebuild.
I feel like Liverpool
need to strip the team back,
set a few players
and obviously they've got
Mike Ledger's coming in
potentially on a slot
who I think is going to be
a good and dangerous manager for them,
but I do think they're going to need
to take that step back
before they take
a couple of steps forward, man.
I think you're right.
Spelling Salah will be key as well.
I think Salah's time's to call.
I think he's cutting.
I genuinely think he's cutting.
I think he's cutting, man.
I just feel,
I don't know when his contract's up,
really, if you're Salah,
you've achieved everything.
Saudi come talking,
Barca, Madrid come talking,
it all depends what you really want to do, man.
All right, my last question for you
before I let you get out of here,
you know, prediction then.
This is the one bit that I hate.
I hate putting a score
on a fixture like this
because I generally think
it could go either way,
like I can see Arsenal winning,
I'm confident Tottenham are going to win,
but I can see Arsenal winning,
I can also see a draw,
but I'm going to stay consistent.
I think that we've got
a couple goals in it
and we, hey,
we've got gunshot for your head top,
man, I'm telling you.
3-1 Spurs, 3-1 Spurs, man.
Like, man, the chickens are getting cooked,
man, we can't have no verve
around these sides, man.
Do you know what?
I hear, I'm with you.
I think football's weird.
Me and you expect goals,
it could very well end up
being 0-0 or 1-0 each way,
but going into it,
I can't like,
I have to back my boys.
I'm going to say 3-2.
I think there's goals, man.
The only thing that gives me
a bit more confidence
beyond the obvious
is when you deep our performances
in a nice way,
the Etihad game.
I think at the Emirates,
there's too much drama,
you know, the United game,
the Liverpool game,
you know, even Luton and Brentford.
There's too much drama.
There's too much stupid moments,
if I'm honest with you.
And that's been there.
I think away from home,
there's a bit more professionalism
and we need to do that.
And I would say for motivation,
Demandare, just watch last year.
Just watch how Eddie and Ketty
are dealt with.
I think you said Romero
won a World Cup.
I don't know, I don't know,
I don't know.
He dealt with it, like,
the only battle for him
is that last year.
It was the worst Tottenham team
that I've seen in about 15 years.
That will never,
never be repeated again.
So that 3-0 can hold it,
but there's no chance
of anything like that this week.
Come on, mate, you know,
there's gonna, what,
you think we're never gonna,
you know what, **** it, 3-0,
I'm going 3-0, **** it,
I'm going 3-0.
Call me a cowboy if you draw me out,
in fact, nah, nah, you know what,
I'm bottled it, I'm bottled it,
I'm bottled it.
3-2 Arsenal,
because I do think there's moments,
I do think it's in the script,
you get a penalty.
I do think there's dodgy VAR moments.
I do think there's gonna be,
I actually think the first 10 minutes
are gonna be dead, bro, you know.
I actually think the first 10 minutes,
both teams are just gonna watch
what everyone's doing.
There might be one moment
that riles up your fans,
or a dodgy VAR decision
that benefits us.
A bit like,
I'm sure it was last year,
Liverpool, Arsenal-Liverpool,
minus the goals,
where it was really just Arsenal,
and it was a bit of a stalemate.
So I'm gonna go 3-2, man.
Yeah, nah, I definitely think
there's gonna be a lot of goals
in the game.
Do you know what, more than anything,
I just hope that there's
tackles flying in.
I wanna see a proper Derby day.
I wanna see the Spurs players
fight for this,
because look, they need to know
that there's a title
on the line for Arsenal.
We've got to ruin that.
We've got to end their season.
We've got the chance to, you know,
say, you guys gonna win the title?
You're not gonna end up
just like them Chelsea brothers, bro.
You're not gonna end up
like the Chelsea brothers, man.
So that's all we've got to play for
right now, and do you know what,
I'm gonna hold my head high
when we beat you guys.
And you know what,
when we end your title run,
nail in the coffin,
I'm gonna walk around
with that one proud still.
All right, make sure you don't run.
Come, we play at two, yeah?
4.45.
Expect messages, bro,
because I'm gonna let your man
get onto you and draw you out,
then you're getting at it.
You're getting done like rums,
because this is the territory
we're going to, man.
People hate the fact
that we're lit now, man.
But let people know
they can find you, my bro.
It's been a lovely one, man.
Yeah, no, it's been a good one, man.
Pleasure of having me on again.
Just catch me on Twitter.
Like Gunnar said, man,
I'm always tweeting some stuff
about Arsenal, if not Spurs as well.
Underscore for George.
To be fair, he did give Rice his credit
just before I went online,
like when I was sending you the link.
You did give Rice the credit.
I can't remember what you replied to.
Oh, it was Asi Gomirez, man.
100 mil.
I was like, crazy business.
I can't not get it done, man.
Get it done.
It's crazy, but just get it done, man.
I'm at the point now,
just spend peace.
Like, I'm not even gonna lie.
Don't even care, innit?
Yeah, man, as long as you're
not doing the United thing,
you're just buying, guys, for no reason.
If there's a method to the madness,
just spend the bread, bro.
Look what he's done.
He's definitely a good player.
It's just when you start to be
meticulous on the prices sometimes.
But I hear you, innit?
It's not our money, bro.
Spend the ******* money.
I couldn't care less.
But yeah, no.
Underscore for George on Twitter.
Durag Diaries on TikTok.
That's for, like, my match reviews
and everything, which, yeah.
Durag Diaries will be coming
straight after the Arsenal game
with the Durag fresh on.
You already know, man.
All right, people.
You know we're taking the guy up, man.
George has been a lovely one.
Obviously, all his info's
in the description
if you didn't catch what he said
or if I was talking over him.
But yeah, may the best team win
in a bit, my dude, man.
You know, come on.
In fact, last, last question.
How long do you think
this silverware drought's
going to go, my bro?
Cut! Cut there!
I ain't even got an answer
to that question still.
