On the train to the south of Mao Zedong, the Chinese leader,
Liu Xijin, a teacher, said to a young and beautiful woman in a mysterious way,
I heard you talking to Chairman Mao today.
The woman was surprised and said, what do you mean?
The teacher laughed and said,
Before Chairman met Secretary Zhang Pinghua,
didn't you urge him to get up and put on his clothes in the train?
The woman was shocked and asked, what else did you hear?
Liu Xijin's jokes were heard.
The woman's eyes changed color,
quickly ran back to the carriage and told Mao Zedong.
And so a political upheaval began.
Hello, everyone.
Welcome to Hongqiao Miwen.
I'm Meiling.
Compared with the famous East and West Factories,
and the former Soviet KGB,
the CCP's secret service is more exquisite.
This is because in the early days of the Cultural Revolution,
eavesdroppers began to be widely used.
To this day, they are still used by different forces within the parties.
The short clip I just described is a big mystery of the CCP's party history before the Cultural Revolution,
which is the detonation point of Mao Zedong's eavesdropping incident.
Speaking of this eavesdropping incident,
it has to be traced back to February 1961.
Mao Zedong was on his special trip to Hangzhou, Changsha, Wuhan, and Guangzhou.
A young and beautiful woman was adored by Mao Zedong and accompanied by a car.
Who is this woman?
No evidence has been found so far.
Some say it's a nanny.
Some say it's Xiao Hu, who is responsible for printing photos around Mao Zedong.
The outside world thinks it may be Hu Xiuyun from the photography group,
but it's not Zhang Yufeng, who is said to be from a certain newspaper.
Because Zhang Yufeng was transferred to the special force as a waiter in 1962.
The train passed under the Changsha Pavilion.
The first secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, Zhang Pinghua, came to visit.
Mao was still in the car and didn't get up.
After Mao came out to talk to Zhang,
Mao's doctor Li Zhicui and his female companion,
as well as two medical staff, came to the platform for a walk and chat.
Liu Xingji said,
he heard all the conversation between the woman and Mao.
The woman was so beautiful.
Mao's personal doctor, Li Zhicui, and another medical staff were also surprised.
When Zhang Pinghua and others left,
the woman ran to tell Mao that there was an eavesdropper in the carriage.
Mao Zedong was furious.
He made a big fuss about the secret recording.
Ordinary people think that Mao doesn't care about the private life.
Because these are no longer secrets in the party.
But the CCP's party seal is a behavior that defines
the relationship between men and women such as love affairs as the corruption of the asset class.
Originally, if there was no recording,
Mao Zedong could completely deny the accusation of messing with the relationship between men and women.
Because Mao has a strong supporter, he can clear his name for him.
But if the opponent has recording evidence,
once it is exposed, it is useless to deny it.
Moreover, Mao Zedong doesn't want his tragic story to have solid evidence.
In fact, Mao Zedong was very worried that someone would record his speech
and use it as a threat to him,
and use it as a basis to overthrow him.
So after the eavesdropping incident was exposed,
Mao Zedong immediately ordered to confiscate and destroy all the tapes.
Maybe some friends want to ask,
who is so bold to dare to lead the eavesdropping of the CCP's party seal?
Rumor has it that after Mao found that there was eavesdropping in the special carriage,
he immediately instructed Wang Duxing to report to the central secretary for a strict investigation.
After Mao finished the inspection and returned to Beijing,
he began to make trouble to related personnel.
In April of the same year, the central office classroom was criticized.
Liu Xing, a technician, was demoted to Shaanxi Labor Reform,
and decided to give Ye Zilong, the director of the pharmaceutical company,
and Kang Yiming, the deputy director, a serious warning.
Wu Zhenying, the deputy director of the pharmaceutical company, was also warned.
Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi and other secretaries
were all implicated and punished.
Yang Shangkun, the director of the central office hall,
and Ye Zilong, Mao's secretary, and a large number of officials were also prosecuted.
On May 17, the central office approved the decision to record the recording of the recording,
and made five provisions about the central and local party, political and military groups
are not allowed to record.
Finally, Liu Shaoqi gathered all the staff to have a meeting,
conveyed Mao's criticism, and did the processing.
Liu Shaoqi wrote a report on the processing situation and sent it to Mao Zedong.
Mao's criticism was agreed, and this matter was settled.
As the impact of the recording incident gradually expanded,
the CPC Central Committee decided to appoint Tian Jiayin as the deputy director of the central office,
to strengthen leadership.
On June 24, at 3.30 pm,
Yang Shangkun summoned relevant personnel,
including the secretary of the central secretary's office,
the first secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Peng Zhen,
to explain the past recording issue.
After that, he talked with Wang Dongxing,
and agreed to cancel the diary issue raised by the chiefs.
Peng Zhen also participated in this meeting.
As for the reason for installing the eavesdropper,
Yang Shangkun said it was to improve the efficiency of the central secretary's office.
Because Mao often gives impromptu speeches when inspecting the area,
these speeches are often related to the current policy of the government.
However, the leaders of the central secretary's office in Beijing
do not know the content of these speeches,
so they cannot follow Mao's intentions to issue and implement instructions.
By eavesdropping on Mao's speech,
they can better understand Mao's intentions and improve work efficiency.
Some analysts pointed out that
Mao Zedong did not agree to bring a source when he went out.
Therefore, Yang Shangkun and others considered
using eavesdroppers to record Mao's speech,
in order to prevent Mao from using it as a shield.
Others wanted to get Mao's intentions and ideas.
Liu Shaoqi, Deng Xiaoping, and others
often felt that they could not keep up with Mao's ideas,
especially when Mao Zedong went out,
they were more eager to understand Mao's new ideas.
By eavesdropping on Mao's speech,
they can better formulate and implement policies.
In Mao's eyes, such a practice is the biggest reaction.
Since then, Mao Zedong has increased the gap between
Liu Shaoqi, Deng Xiaoping, and other Chinese leaders,
and his suspicions have increased.
He also lost trust in Yang Shangkun and Luo Ruiqing.
These doubts broke out during the Cultural Revolution.
In fact, eavesdropping devices were installed
when Mao was inspecting Tianjin, Nanjing, and Shanghai
What shocked Mao the most was that
the eavesdropper had been installed for several years,
but no one around him reported to him.
In the end, it was his girlfriend who let him know about it.
Therefore, Mao thought that everyone around him was unreliable,
and only his girlfriend could tell him the truth.
It is worth noting that Mao Zedong in 1961
was at his most difficult time in his political career.
The Great Leap Forward caused a great famine that was spreading.
Mao's political authority declined several times.
Although Mao thought that these eavesdropping events
were a special means against him,
but because these behaviors had been disguised as
the legal actions of the Central Secretariat,
Mao could not make a strong counterattack.
Mao Zedong first ordered Yang Shangkun to be transferred to the Central Office.
However, in 1965,
the chairman found that Yang Shangkun was still working in Zhongnanhai.
He was angry at this.
Liu Shaoqi and Deng Xiaoping had to transfer Yang Shangkun
to the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee as the Secretary of the Secretariat.
During the Cultural Revolution, Yang Shangkun was interrogated
because he secretly placed an eavesdropper next to Mao.
In addition, there was the issue of confidentiality.
More importantly, the eavesdropping event
was also a chance for Mao Zedong to make up his mind
to overthrow Liu Shaoqi and all the authorities.
If it were not for the benefit of Liu Shaoqi and Deng Xiaoping,
Yang Shangkun would not dare to take such a risky action.
Mao Zedong realized that he was facing the risk of losing his actual power
and becoming the emperor in the name of internal control.
His every move was under the control of the Party Central Committee.
In this case, he had only two choices.
Admit defeat and become the emperor in the name of internal control,
or resist desperately to overthrow Liu Shaoqi and his supporters.
With Mao's character, of course, he chose the latter.
The eavesdropping event was not just a simple rumor,
but the beginning of the disaster in the past few years in China.
There is information that Yang Shangkun
put an eavesdropper in Mao's living room and bathroom,
and it was done by two people,
Secretary Wu Zhenying of Liu Shaoqi and Secretary Kang Yiming of Zhelai.
After Ye Zilong left the classroom,
Wu Zhenying, Kang Yiming, was in charge of the classroom.
After the incident was exposed, Kang Yiming and others were held accountable.
In the summer of 1964,
there was a cold place in the South China Sea.
One day, at noon,
Kang Yiming yelled,
If something happens, you should take the blame.
It's such a big thing, let me take the blame.
It's obviously your fault.
Now you have nothing to do, but I have something to do.
Kang Yiming was from Hongxia Gui,
and he had no excuse.
It is said that later, Yang Shangkun and Kang Yiming had a talk.
Kang Yiming never mentioned this again.
There is such a description in the book.
Later, when the Central Cultural Revolution Group held a meeting,
everyone asked about the earpiece.
Jiang Qing immediately called Wang Dongxing to his place,
and took a very large envelope.
It was written by Mao Zedong himself.
Jiang Qing kept it.
In the envelope, in addition to a small speaker,
there were also several mini-sized earpieces.
Many people have never seen such a small earpiece.
It is said that there is also a soap box with an earpiece.
It is likely that Yang Shangkun imported it from overseas
through the Central Investigation Department.
After a series of earpieces were found,
Mao Zedong didn't even dare to live in the bedroom of Juxiangshu,
It produced a sense of guilt.
Although many times people used special instruments to check repeatedly,
and also made detailed reports to Jiang Qing,
But after Mao Zedong returned to Beijing from overseas in July 1966,
he still did not go to Fengze Garden,
but first lived in the fishing station.
Not long after, he moved to the swimming pool in Zhongnanhai.
The indoor swimming pool has a changing room and a lounge,
two large supporting facilities.
In addition, there is no place for people to live.
At that time, Mao insisted on living in a small changing room,
and asked the staff to put a bed and a chair,
and make the changing room full.
Since then, this changing room has become Mao's bedroom,
and the lounge has become a living room.
It is understandable that Mao was so afraid of being monitored.
A small place is safer and easier to control for him.
From the end of 1965 to the beginning of 1966,
Mao Zedong's concerns about the possibility of a coup
were getting deeper and deeper.
On the one hand, He Lou Xiaofu was warned by the CPC Central Committee
of the coup in 1964.
On the other hand, since the 1962 Seven Thousand People's Congress,
the power struggle between Mao and Liu Shaoqi is getting worse and worse,
which makes him more and more anxious
about the possible split of the party and the right-wing coup.
Therefore, Mao took a series of measures to deal with this situation,
including initiating a cultural revolution,
and deploying anti-corruption measures in Beijing.
Among them, Zhou Lai established a capital work group under Mao's instructions,
responsible for safeguarding the safety of the capital.
In order to prevent information leakage,
Zhou Lai even chose the most primitive method,
which is to send a letter by mail,
instead of using a phone that may be eavesdropped on, or a telegraph.
Even after more than 50 years,
eavesdroppers are still used in different factions in the party to fight for power.
Zhou Yongkang, the former head of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,
ordered Wang Lijun, a dead party,
to buy the most advanced eavesdropping equipment from Israel and Germany,
and focus on collecting corruption evidence and materials
including important figures such as Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping.
Wang Lijun secretly investigated and collected private life
and economic crime evidence of central leaders
According to reports,
they even tried to eavesdrop on the confidential information of the Politburo Standing Committee and their families,
as well as monitor their whereabouts and private activities.
Whether in the past or now,
power struggle has always been an important part of the CCP's political life.
And eavesdropping has become one of the indispensable tools for plotting power and political conspiracy.
Okay, that's all for today.
