In today's video we are sharing eight tiny travel essentials that we do not leave the country
without. Planning for an international trip can be super daunting and quite honestly just plain
stressful. Knowing what to pack for your trip depends on so many different factors.
Where are you going? What's the weather going to be like? What activities are you doing?
And probably the biggest limiting factor is what you can fit in your suitcase. So let's dive into
these tiny travel essentials that will take up very little space in your suitcase and why they
make the cut on our packing list for every single one of our adventures. Tiny travel essential
number one and that is a international travel power adapter. Now this may seem pretty obvious.
Most of you know that when you go to different countries their outlets are different and you're
an adapter to charge your things like your phone, camera, laptop and so on. So this is a must when
you're traveling internationally. But I do want to shout out this specific product. This is a
product that I actually originally got as a gift but have since bought many more. I have two of
these. Meg has two of these and we really liked them. They're super affordable. It was like $18
on Amazon. And what I really like about this product specifically is that all of the adapters
are housed in one unit. Which believe it or not this is not always the case. We got one as a gift
that is not like that. It comes with like all of these different pieces. As you can see having all
these pieces is not ideal because they're easy to lose. So that's why I also really like this one.
This thing is also super powerful. I've been charging my phone, Meg's phone, my computer and
my camera all at once on this one charger and it has had zero issues. What I like about it as well
is it's got three USB ports as well as a USB-C port. Again plenty of space to plug stuff in as
well as you have your normal outlets in the front. But anyway point being is you're going to need a
travel adapter so make sure that that is on your list to pack anytime you are traveling
internationally. Number two and that is a buff. Oh man do I love a buff. This is probably the most
versatile piece of travel gear that we bring with us on our trips. Me and my wife both carry them
and we use them for so many different things. We use them for the normal stuff probably what
you're familiar with which is like temperature regulation. We use it a lot on hikes for sun
protection as well as we'll make we'll use it as like a makeshift face mask to keep dirt and dust
out of our nose and mouth. But I also use it for things like my camera gear. So I have this lens.
I will oftentimes put my lens in it for a little extra protection. I will often put my GoPro in it.
I use it for a lot of my camera gear to keep it from getting scratched and damaged. Another great
use for a buff is it is a great makeshift eye mask right. If you're in a pinch and you need an eye
mask you can use it as an eye mask. The point being is a buff has a ton of uses and this is
something we do not leave for a trip without. So if you've never tried a buff I would highly
recommend trying it for your next trip. Number three an Apple AirTag. We recently just started
traveling with these and they've been awesome. We really enjoy just the peace of mind that this
little thing gives you when you're traveling because when you're traveling internationally
you never know what can happen. Your baggage might get lost right you might lose some expensive
camera gear. Having one of these in your backpack and in your suitcase again just a great thing for
your peace of mind so that way you don't have to worry about your luggage and it's just one less
stressor for you. So we like to throw one of these in our backpack and in our luggage again just for
a little peace of mind. Number four we have a padlock or a combination lock. This falls under
the same category as the AirTag. For us this has come in handy tons when we've been traveling. Now I
will say it kind of depends on what style of travel you particularly enjoy. For us we have
used these at various hostels or whenever we've had to leave our luggage behind for some sort of
hike or adventure. Sometimes they'll give you like a locker but not a keypad or combination lock. Now
I will say this is just kind of your standard combination lock. I would actually recommend more
of a TSA compliant padlock. I'll link it below. This thing is all right. It hasn't worked great
for for us so I would actually recommend a little bit different one which I'll link below.
But anyway these locks just having one of these in your suitcase you never know when it will come in
handy if you need to store your luggage or something like that to give you a little sense of
security and safety. Number five and that is a power bank. Now I probably use this power bank
more than the average person being that I'm on my phone quite a bit as well as I have a lot of
camera gear that I like to charge. But a power bank is great for anybody especially when you're
traveling internationally. It's never a bad idea to have a little extra juice to keep you comfortable
and safe while you travel because you never want to get into a situation where you need to get
somewhere or you need to communicate with somebody and your phone dies. I literally lost Meg on the
Singapore train line. That makes for a very stressful experience and something you want to
try to avoid. So get yourself a power bank. I use Anker. It's a brand that I've really liked. I
actually also have a bigger one as well. These things are super powerful. I've never had any
issues with them. Even on this small one I get like four full phone charges and this is a pretty
old one. They have newer ones that I think are even more efficient than this one. But anyway
besides the point I would highly recommend investing in a power bank. I am always looking
to up my game when it comes to efficiency and productivity with my travel gear. Organized chaos.
Actually it's just chaos. It's not organized. So I would like to hear from you. If you have any
tiny travel essentials that I should be implementing into my packing list let me know. I
want to learn from you. I'm always looking for tips and tricks and some of you guys have some great
ones. So put them in the comments below. Any tiny travel essentials that I should try out next.
Also if you're enjoying this video so far please give it a thumbs up. It's much appreciated.
Number six and that is a travel towel. Now this might be more or less useful depending on your
travel style. For me and Meg we have a fairly adventurous travel style and we use these
all the time. Kind of like the buff having a towel is just a great idea because it has so many
different uses. We use our towel for things like when we go to the gym and we need to you know
wipe off sweat or say we're doing some sort of water adventure whether it be swimming in a
waterfall or swimming with dolphins. Wiping off your sweat, water, great options. But also they
come in handy for other things like maybe you're on a plane and you have a runny nose. I know this
is kind of gross but having something to wipe your nose off with. Travel towel can be a great option
and I'm only saying that because we've definitely done that before because sometimes it can be hard
to find Kleenex when you're traveling. But anyway having a travel towel is a great option. Now
there's two that we've used before that we've really liked. We've also had a bunch of travel
towels that we really hated. One of which Meg used like one time and washed it and it just like fell
apart. So making sure you invest in it in a nice high quality product is going to be key. Both of
these are from Sea to Summit. Both super lightweight as you can see like this thing fits in my hand and
believe it or not it's actually very large. It's quite insane that it fits in this. It's only like
2.4 ounces. This one's a little bit heavier but I'll also say it's probably a little bit more
absorbent. Both of these we've had a lot of success with though. Again just find yourself an option
that's going to fit well in your suitcase. Not be too overbearing but something that's going to
provide you with the benefits that a towel should provide which is you know wiping away water sweat
things like that. So if you've never tried a travel towel especially even one like this that's
this small I would highly recommend it because you might use it more than you think. Number seven and
this by far is the weirdest thing that we travel with and it is a spork. All right let me explain.
So prior to traveling full-time we received some advice from a very experienced traveler and said
you need to bring a spork with you on your trip and we were like you've got to be kidding me. I'm
not going to waste space in my suitcase bringing a spoon fork. I mean come on and we listened to
their advice. We brought it with more as an experiment to see if we would actually use it
and let me tell you we used it once twice we used it almost 15 or 20 times. I kid you not.
This came in handy 15 or 20 times. Now I will say it does kind of depend on the style of travel that
you do. For us we often find ourselves in maybe the more budget travel category where we're taking
ferries, trains, buses. Oftentimes we're waiting outside of our Airbnb hostel and we need some
quick food and we realized that this can be very very helpful. We also will buy things at like gas
stations or 7-elevens like a yogurt or some oatmeal and instead of using their plastic silverware we
will pull out our own spork which is way more efficient and way more eco-friendly. So again we
use this like 15 or 20 times but for you personally the only way to find out if you're going to use it
is to bring it. So I challenge you if you are interested in bringing a spork give it a try see
if you use it. Report back to me. I'm very curious to see if anyone else travels with a spork or a
spoon or a fork because I feel like me and Meg are kind of out here on an island the only ones
traveling with a spork. So leave in the comments if you travel with something like this because
I would be super interested but give it a try. Number eight and that is a greens powder and
specifically we've been traveling with this AG1 powder. It's done wonders for us. I would say we've
probably been traveling with this powder for like the last year and it is a supplement. So whenever
you're looking at supplements I've talked about some various things that we use for supplements
in our other videos whether it be electrolytes or ginger chews. Always make sure to test it out
before you travel just to make sure that you understand how your body reacts. But we've had
a great experience with this AG1 greens powder. We use it more for a probiotic as well as just like
kind of a natural energy booster. This is not something we necessarily take every single day
but when we'll often take it or make sure to take it is when after we have maybe a sketchy meal or
maybe something that we're not used to eating. The next morning we'll make sure to take this and it
gets our stomach all right again because as we know when you're traveling you're eating different
foods there's different bacterias and it's never fun to have an upset stomach and this is kind of
a natural way to help us combat that. As well as there's just a ton of vitamins and nutrients in
here that benefit anyone at any point in their life. So I decided to add this to our travel
essentials not because it's something that we take every day but it is something that we travel with
on every single trip. So I'd highly recommend giving this a try if you're interested because
it has really helped us. I hope this video gave you some ideas and inspiration to improve your
travel essentials in a small way for your next international travel experience. If you would like
