Up front: bad, wind cutting, clipping audio. Working on it and today ordered different mic and connector for a different setup. Apologies for that. Still uploading because the ride up the mountains was pretty damn nice. So when in need mute. Still working out the kinks with this moto vlogging business. Not ideal but I know there are riders out there who enjoy the view more than the jabber. This one is for you. More New Zealand motorcycle riding right here in the second episode of the World Ride Motorcycle Vlog. We're doing it!
I'm having quite a wasted day so far. The mornings are gone. It's one o'clock past one o'clock,
but I'm not letting it get to me. Just keep on going. Library closed early because it's Saturday.
I was compiling the movie for the third time. I got two errors already, compiling errors.
All I did was wasted time since yesterday evening and still haven't
uploaded the first episode of the vlog. So be it. Tonight there's another chance.
Then I'll have two. So here we are. Another glorious day in New Zealand.
Beautiful weather. Clear sky. The sun is out. I hope the GoPro is properly pointed.
Mic is on. We'll find out later. Laugh or cry. Let's get back to riding.
So we're going to get on the Kaka hill. I already came down on and there is a lot of
wind. And then I went to the library to get back to exporting the first vlog.
And that failed twice. The library closed at 12 30. So I wasted another hour and a half on that.
It's been a very wasteful day. I hate that. I try not to let it get to me because these days
in New Zealand are short. It's winter. It's dark at 5 30. So I have very little day to day. I'll
have two episodes. This is a gorgeous day. Truly gorgeous. Actually here the helmet cam would have
worked. Very much better. I still want to try and set up a chin angle. I've gotten around to it.
I have tried a lot of other angles. I've really gotten busy in New Zealand with
improving the quality of filming and sound for that matter. Hopefully it's good with off-roading.
Should be pretty steep. And I got a bit of weight on the back as I'd say all together.
See I never got to tell yesterday what I'm riding on. See now we get into the shade.
A green Honda Trans Alp from 1991. 600cc. V-twin. Beautiful engine.
Cycles in my life but I've ridden this one substantially.
And what I keep hearing this is a great engine. I'm getting blinded by the sun a lot. I don't
have sunnies. Wine broke a few days ago and I only had it for a week and I refused to pay
30 bucks for sunnies. They cost two dollars to make in China. New Zealand is a very expensive
country just like Australia. But this blinding light in the corners is very distracting.
Some areas I actually have to put my hand up.
In New Zealand there's big logging trucks on the road. It can take up half a man sometimes.
Anyhow, 1991 Trans Alp. Reliable engine. 30,000 kilometers. And
I call it the bike that keeps on giving. Fantastic. I've really grown up with it.
We've come a long way. 30 countries. 30 countries together.
Over 70,000 kilometers on this trip. And look at this. Ladies and gentlemen,
this is New Zealand. That's dramatic. See the nice thing about the helmet camera would be
because I have a side cam. But I like the POV of this better. But if I put one on the chin
then you can see me looking into the corners also which would look pretty good. And I guess that
I could also show where I'm at in case something's really nice. And that is many times the case in
New Zealand. Oh you see that? You see that crap? Wet, gritty, dirty. I don't trust that.
You can really feel the temperature too in the shade compared to it in the sun.
Coming down here a few days ago is absolutely beautiful. This usually can be quite gritty
gravel. Look at this. I wish I could show you the right. But it looks gorgeous. I would need
another camera to record. A second GoPro. And I don't want to go switching cameras because like
I said I want to keep the motovlog simple because I'm already overworking on other stuff that takes
a lot of time. Oh now someone's locked in a cage in front of me. I don't know the name exactly.
That's the story of my life usually and especially in New Zealand.
I could have gone that. Could have had that. Let's take it easy.
I'm not gonna. See that's why I don't overtake you yet. It doesn't matter.
You never know what's coming across. Oh now I missed the sign. You never know what's going to come across
over the hill. This might be it. Yeah I need to go check out the walkway.
Because there's caves somewhere. I want to find those caves.
See how much time I got done this anyway. Nine minutes already. That's almost it folks.
That didn't look like it was a road to the cave.
So I have to look somewhere else. Now we're on the other side and it's gorgeous here too. I wish you
Oh yeah. New Zealand you're so good.
Episode. I don't know if you have it uploaded. The first one we should be up.
If I do you'll have to find out that tomorrow I guess. I'll just keep taking these sweet lines here.
And y'all have a great day. It should be somewhere. I can't be far.
All right now I'll give you one more bed. One more quarter. See you later.
All right super bonus. Such a nice man. He just simply wants to show you the world.
How does that look? And only because I think I found the caves. I'll have a quick look
and if it doesn't cost me anything I'll have a look inside.
But you'll have to see that. Oh no guys. Okay I'll give you this one still. I'll give you this one.
Look at this. I'm not even going to take it fast. Look at this. Look at this. This is my life.
And that's two cave entrance. All right guys I'll see you.
