Mazda announced the launch of the new CX-80 SUV, which is the brand's fourth model moving towards the high-end market. Like the flagship CX-90, it targets the three-row, seven-seat SUV market. The CX-80 is similar to the CX-60 in appearance and interior design, but has a roomier three-meter wheelbase.

In terms of size, the CX-80 has a length, width and height of 4,994x1,890x1,709mm, and a wheelbase of 3,119mm. In comparison, the CX-60 has a length of 4,745mm, a wheelbase of 2,870mm, and the CX -90 has a length of 5,110mm and a wheelbase of 3,119mm.

In addition to the basic three-row, seven-seat configuration, the CX-80 also has a more comfortable and luxurious six-seat version. The basic volume of the luggage compartment is 258L, which can reach 687L after folding down the third row. When both the second and third row seats are folded down, the luggage compartment volume can reach 1,221L. The vehicle is equipped with the same facilities as the CX-60, including the latest family-style digital instrumentation with a 12.3-inch screen, and is equipped with complete L2 level autonomous driving technology.

In terms of power, the CX-80 will be the first to be equipped with a 3.3-liter six-cylinder diesel engine, paired with a 48V light petrol-electric system, with a maximum output of 254 horsepower. In addition, a 2.5-liter PHEV plug-in hybrid version is also available, equipped with a 17.8kWh battery pack, with a combined power of 323 horsepower, an average fuel consumption of 62.5 kilometers per liter, and a pure electric range of 60 kilometers.
