Cycling the steep roads

This week on the Sunday ride I'm cycling from Bangkok to the island of Koh Tao in 538 kilometers
where we enjoy the beautiful seaside and we visit the Fryana concaves.
So sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
A very good move as we are making our way out of the huge metropolitan area of Bangkok.
We are starting a new week. I got my rim replaced yesterday after last week's fall
so we're good to go. I still have some minor repairs to be done but nothing that keeps us
from cycling right now. And the goal of this week is to reach the islands on the east coast
of Thailand, Koh Tao and maybe if we have time Koh Pham Nang as well.
Which also means that I'm finally, after a long long time, will be able to see the sea again.
A very good morning on another very sunny, warm and sweaty day here in the coastal region of
Thailand. Yesterday we found a very nice camping on the riverside. We had our own yurt with a very
comfy bed and also had some very very tasty Thai food. So that was a lovely stay and this morning
we left very early because we want to go as far as possible today because if we can make good
progress we have time later on to do some cave exploring. All right it's been six months since
the last time I was at the sea in Georgia, the Black Sea. And about 8,000 kilometers further
up on the road I finally got back to the sea here in Thailand. And as we speak I'm dipping my toes
into the water. Oh that feels good. It's been such a long time. Lovely to be back. We found a very nice
beach club as well there. So I think today we're gonna give up and go into the caves. We can go
tomorrow as well and just have some fun right now.
So it's finally time for the cave. The Phraya Nakhon cave. I probably mispronounced that. If you know
how to pronounce it let me know. But after about an hour of hike we are drenched in our own sweat.
But we are here right now at the entrance of the cave so let's explore.
All right that was a great morning spent at the caves but now it's time to get back on the bike so
let's go. Well that was a lovely night out at one of the beautiful Thai beaches. Really enjoyable
that one. We had a great time together and this morning we went for a sunrise swim after which we
quickly packed all our stuff and get back on the road because we are trying to catch the ferry to
Koh Tao this afternoon from Japan. 1.30 that is. We still have a 90 kilometer ride to go so
I hope we can make it.
Oh yes.
Next week you'll see how we get back to the mainland of Thailand, celebrate Christmas on the bikes and visit beautiful Khao Sok.
But that's it for this week and I'll see you in the next one.
