As-salamu alaykum. In today's video, we are going to be having the most mouth-watering
Pakistani breakfast street food and lassi. It's pure buffalo milk making pure yogurt.
It's not having some water, even some little water in it. You're doing very slow. Slow? Make
some fast. Some of these shop owners have been serving the community with some of the best food
in Pakistan for generations. And we are here today to find out what makes people always come
back for more. It's so good. We are in the old city of Lahore and we met up with my friend,
Mohammad. Hi, Nicole. Hi, everyone. And he's going to show us around.
Let's have some Jeddah lassi. Lassi. It's lassi time.
We are about to have lassi and it's my favorite, so I'm very, very excited.
Daily breakfast, the people having lassi daily and the Jeddah famous lassi coming from,
the people coming from all over Pakistan to take the Jeddah lassi.
What is so special about Jeddah lassi? Let's go.
We are going to find out what is so special about Jeddah lassi. Jeddah lassi. Jeddah lassi.
The 50 years old shop. 50 years old. Yeah.
You know, the religious pictures, our, you know, Khana Kaaba and the Masjid al-Nabawi
in Saudi Arabia. Yeah. For some religious activity and religious attractiveness,
some put pictures on it. Yogurt. And yogurt making lassi. So is most lassi made from buffalo milk?
Exactly. It's pure buffalo milk making pure yogurt. It's not having some water,
even some little water in it. Not heavy. Just only lassi. And the yogurt.
Faster and faster. Yeah. Is that good? It's like arm and chest working. Exactly.
You're doing very slow. Slow? Make some faster.
Very good. Mine is so bad. You'll wear this.
You're doing a great job. Wow. Check it out.
Right? Malai over yogurt. And this goes in the lassi. Yep.
Wow.
So I am going to taste the best lassi in Lahore.
This is the best lassi in Lahore. It's salty and creamy. It tastes like a yogurt milkshake.
Yeah. Wow. That's incredible. I mean, if I'm craving this, I'm not going to get it unless I
come here. You know? Anytime. I mean, I'm going to drink this whole thing. This is so good.
How did you like the lassi? It's the best. We're here to explore as well. I mean,
it's second time actually. First time here. We live in Lahore, but we still don't know this
place. And we're also here to explore. So is this the best lassi that you've ever had?
Yeah. Actually, there are two. One is PK ki Lassi. This is Jeda.
But I think he's the best. This is the best? This is the best one right now.
What's your name? Mahbir. What is it? Mahbir. Mahbir? Yeah. Okay. Ishmael. Ishmael.
Fareed. Fareed? Fareed.
He's the star of the show.
Now this is called?
Kulcha with Malai. So it's pretty much like a yogurt pizza.
You can say that. Yeah. Yogurt pizza with buffalo milk.
This is so good because I like this because you get the flavor of the bread,
but then you also get the contrast of the yogurt.
Yes. Yes. I love this.
Yes. It's messy, but it's so good. Yeah. Exactly. I'm spilling all over the floor.
I'm sorry. It's okay. Be careful. I'm being careful.
It's so good. It's almost like a margarita pizza.
I do every classes. You're the teacher for every class. Yeah. And this is my name, Sir Hamza.
My name is Muhammad Hamza. You told me Muhammad. Muhammad is my, you know, the religious sentiments
name. The actual name is Hamza. Almost every name, every person, Muhammad names attached with
their names. So people just call you Hamza? Just like Muhammad Amir or Muhammad Hamza.
You never see that? No. You never told? No. Okay. So if I was a guy and my name was Nicholas,
it would be Muhammad Nicholas. Exactly. So your friends call you Hamza? Hamza. Sir Hamza. Hamza
means a line. Oh really? Hamza. In Urdu. Hamza means a line. He's my teacher. This is a very
good teacher. Like a normal routine. He had to say that. He had to say that.
Do most of these shops open up then? It's about the market. Okay. Whenever about 9 a.m to 10 a.m,
the market is all open. Look at that house. The oldest house ever. This is called Haveli.
Wow. That's beautiful. So a Desi doctor lives in that house, which is
pretty much like a holistic doctor. His name is Saqib. Saqib? He's got 2.2 million followers
on TikTok. Whoa. Crazy. I would put your link, but I guess you don't need it.
He's selling a chickpea stew. Let's check it out. Wow. That looks so good. So we're starting off
with some bread. This is called Lahori kulcha. Lahori kulcha. Lahori kulcha. Ooh. So it's very
different. How is it different from naan? Naan is, there is a til making about kulcha,
but without til, without these seeds, there is naan. Oh, okay. Okay. Got it. Lahori is famous
for kulcha. Okay. Oh, wow. That looks incredible. It's so good. Really? He does not lie. If it's
bad, he will literally say it and I'll be like, why did you say that? And really good. Really
spicy. Very subtle flavors, but so tasty. Like the balance of flavors is really, really good.
My turn. So now this bread. Yes. Properly. Yeah. Okay. I'm just going to dig in.
Oh my God. I think I got enough. Yeah.
11 out of 10. Oh. 11 out of 10. Wow. This is really good. Yeah. I wouldn't know that
these are chickpeas, like if I just closed my mouth, because they're just so much more flavorful.
Let's make a bite with egg as well. Okay. Now why do you think this tastes so much better from
a street vendor versus in a five-star hotel? He's making with love. With love. With love.
The old wives and the recipes of their forefathers. Yeah. Coming generation by generation.
He's asking what the reviews about this chickpeas to eat. It's so good. Perfect.
Perfect. Daily coming to eat this. Daily? Yeah. Wow. I'm going to copy
because my fingers are all, whereas they're going like this, which is so smart. Oh, is that what
they're doing? Yeah. Yeah. Way smarter. The real foodie. Yeah. I can taste the pepper. Yeah. The
pepper tastes so good. The black pepper in it. If you come to Lahore, you have to come here.
Dubai chickpeas. Dubai chickpeas. Dubai chickpeas. Yeah.
The oldest mirror over there, the desi style barber. Desi style barber. Yeah. And he's the
oldest barber in Lahore. Oldest barber in the old city of Lahore. In the old city of Lahore. Yeah.
The oldest chair as well. Really? Yeah.
So if you're going to visit Lahore, visit in February. Yeah. February, January,
December, and November. Yes. So when it's warm, it gets like 110 degrees Fahrenheit,
which is around 45 degrees Celsius. That is hot. It's coming from the fish market.
Okay. And sailing on the card in the streets of Lahore. That fish is fresh from the Ravi River
in Lahore. So that's about as fresh as it gets. This is a halwa poori, small style halwa. This
is called halwa. The Swedish halwa. Halwa. The poora. The sweet poora. Poora. And the butter.
They're putting on butter on the top of that. And this is called poori. Poori. Poori. Let's have a
taste. It tastes like in the U.S. we have something called cornbread. Oh. And it tastes like a fried
cornbread with a little bit of sugar. This is so good. Exactly. What is this made from? It's made
from cornflour. Cornflour. Cornflour. Oh my God. Wow. All right, I'm having another one.
The edges are, you can kind of see they're golden brown, so they're crispy. But then you can just
really sink your teeth into it and it's so good. Very buttery.
As we walked around Old Lahore, we got to see fresh kulcha being made. Before coming to Lahore,
I had never had kulcha before. And honestly, it's probably one of the best breads that I have ever
had. It's thick. You can sink your teeth into it. It has a mild salt flavor and it's just delicious.
Now, all of these videos I shot in Pakistan were recorded right before Ramadan started,
so that's why we're eating during the day. I do want to emphasize, Hamza did not let us pay
for any of these meals. We tried to pay, but he insisted and he just simply wouldn't let us.
This was extremely kind of him. And I just feel like Pakistan has some of the most hospitable
people that I have ever met. This is like extremely fresh.
Thank you. Did you want to take some? Take some. No problem. All right. Oh, this is cold.
Oh, this is so juicy. Wow, this is so good.
So extremely fresh. You can tell. I mean, they just look like they were all just plucked off
of the trees. There's the vibe of Old Lahore. There is a musical instrument over there.
So would this be like drums? Yep, yep. Drums called dholki.
What is it called? It's called mini version dholki. Dholki. Okay. All right. So it's the
same as when his ancestors worked here. He can afford it, but he don't want to change.
Yeah. He don't want to change. Keeping it the same. Yeah.
Well, that's about the end of our tour. Thank you so much, Hamza, for showing us around.
So we are going to another food point. You can see another vlog for his channel,
her channel. So let's go. All right, let's go. See you guys in the next vlog. Bye.
