Jesus, the Pressed Olive

In ancient times in the land of the Bible people used oil lamps for light Exodus 27 20 says Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning in This verse we see that for the light Lamps were burning oil from pressed olives in ancient times Literally light came from olives. And how do you get the oil out of an olive? Pressure and for this olives were taken to an olive press in the Bible There is a particular place where Jesus was under a tremendous amount of pressure Matthew 26 36 says then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane the note at the bottom of the page says Gethsemane which means all of press was the place of Jesus agony and arrest Seeing what an olive goes through at an olive press can help us better appreciate what Jesus went through at Gethsemane for us as he took on the pressure of the sins of mankind knowing all that he was about to endure in order to become for us living in the land of darkness a great light Please let me know by liking it and you'll want to watch our other metaphor videos Jesus the grain of wheat and the feature length Jesus the Good Shepherd Thanks for watching.
