The potential casting of Aaron Taylor-Johnson as James Bond might mark the conclusion of an intriguing streak established by the previous actors.
I hope the third is where your real talent lies.
One rises to meet a challenge.
There's a new Bond and he breaks a long-standing record.
Join Screen Rant as we look at new Bond, Aaron Taylor Johnson.
It's been a long search for Daniel Craig's replacement, with a lot of speculation and
wild theories. Now we finally have an answer and it's kick-ass and Godzilla star Aaron Taylor
Johnson. While as of this video's production he has yet to sign the contract,
Johnson has been formally offered the role. If he accepts, then Johnson will be the youngest
Bond since 1969. The previous record holder was one-time Bond, George Lazenby. Lazenby took on
the role as the very first replacement Bond after Sean Connery stepped down from the role.
He starred in 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Unfortunately for Eon Productions,
Lazenby immediately quit after one movie and they had to offer Connery just so much money to come
back. Johnson will be the seventh official Bond after Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan,
and Craig. Johnson himself has had a long career, getting his first big break as Mark Millar's
kick-ass. He also had a Bond-esque role in the recent Bullet Train. Johnson's casting means that
Eon and Barbara Broccoli are looking for an actor that can fill the role for the next decade or two.
Eon head Barbara Broccoli has long held final say over who is cast as both Bond
and his various Bond girls, so the decision to cast Johnson was ultimately her choice.
