At a press briefing, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was asked if he'll campaign with former President Trump.
on quality of life, business, all these things.
And so we're happy to, we know that the time's not over,
but the resources are in place
and that's really the way to do it.
So good job for everyone who's been working hard here
on the ground and in other parts
throughout the state of Florida.
It's made a big difference for people.
Okay, with that, yes, ma'am.
Do you expect you to join former President Trump
on the campaign trail ahead of November?
So I think one of the interesting things about is
this state before I came on the scene was a one-point state.
It is no longer a one-point state.
And that's just the reality.
This is not gonna be a state that's competitive
in November and that's just the reality.
So I don't anticipate there being much campaign here
for the top of the ticket.
I do think there's gonna be some local races
that are gonna be very important that we'll be involved with
and then how I can help nationally,
I wanna be able to do that.
I don't know exactly, but normally in these elections
in Florida, you would never wanna leave Florida
because this is like, you gotta kind of get every vote.
And I'm not saying you don't have to work hard,
but we, when I got elected,
there were almost 300,000 more registered Democrats
than Republicans in the state.
And there had never been more Republicans and Democrats
in the history of Florida.
Today, there's about 850,000 more registered Republicans
and Democrats.
I mean, that's just a big change.
And that's been driven partially by migration,
partially by people switching over.
And I think it shows a lot of great success.
And so as people look at kind of how the election
will turn out, I don't think Florida is gonna be a place
where you're gonna see a lot of activity.
And that'll be the first time in probably most
of our lifetimes where that's been the case,
maybe since Ronald Reagan,
when he was running up the big margins there.
Every other time, it's like, you can't turn on a TV.
I mean, I remember in 2016, 2020, you turn on the TV.
I mean, it's like nonstop ads.
I don't think that's gonna be the case this time.
