Cai Bogai Recognition
Cai Bogai, a scholar from Chenliu County, was recruited into the house of Niu Xiang. During the famine in Chenliu, both of his parents died of starvation. His wife, Zhao Wuniang, carried a pipa on her back and brought a portrait of her parents-in-law to Beijing in search of a husband. After Cai Bo Gui joined the Niu family, he often missed his parents, but hated not being able to see them. One day, he saw the portrait in his study, which looked like his parents, and the poem had a lot of mocking meanings, so he wanted to know what was going on, so he summoned Niu to ask him about it, and confessed his heartfelt feelings. Niu saw that Bo Gui did not forget his parents and abandoned Wu Niang, so he led Wu Niang to meet with him, and the couple stated their love for each other, and Bo Gui decided to ask the Emperor to take his wife home to pay homage to her grave.
