Why does the SpaceX Starship keep EXPLODING?
The development of spacecraft is inherently risky, often marked by explosions and failures. SpaceX's Starship prototype spacecraft exemplifies these challenges. The fully reusable launch system, intended for future missions to the Moon and Mars, has encountered its fair share of ruptures, failed landings, and explosive incidents.
In 2023, SpaceX conducted two orbital test launches of Starship. The initial test in April resulted in the Starship meeting a fiery end after a 4-minute flight reaching 39 km. The second launch witnessed the successful separation of its second stage from the booster. However, despite this milestone, an explosion ensued, attributed to glitches in fuel, engines, and the remote-control software of the Starship.
It's a perplexing notion to consider a human spaceflight program reliant on recurrent rocket and spacecraft explosions. Equally challenging to fathom is the allowance of such activities by state and federal regulators.
