Kensington Palace ‘hit out at the madness’ on social media amid Princess Kate theories

Daily Mirror Royal Editor Russell Myers says Kensington Palace “hit out at the madness” on social media as conspiracy theories continue to swirl around Princess Kate’s health and whereabouts.

The Princess of Wales underwent planned abdominal surgery in January, leaving her out of action ever since, with the Palace confirming she wouldn’t return to public duties until after Easter.

However, her absence has sparked a number of “conspiracy theories” online over her whereabouts as the popular royal hasn’t been seen publicly since Christmas Day.

A spokesperson for Princess Catherine said in a statement that she “continues to be doing well” before calling out the vast amount of information online.

“I think that the Palace had to come out and say, ‘everybody needs to calm down a little bit’,” Mr Myers told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo.

“They hit out at the madness on social media.

“We haven’t seen her very much because she’s ... resting and recuperating – let’s give her some time off and hopefully look forward to seeing her when she’s back.”
