Things to do in Nan Thailand 🇹🇭 MUST DO in North Thailand

Hi everyone and welcome to Nan. So in this video we're going to show you some places to eat, some amazing views and some places you can see or go and check out while you're here. So I just want to quickly tell you what you can expect from this video. We want to show you things to do, we want to show you where you can get some delicious food and we're going to show you some amazing views. Let's go! Good morning. It's early in the morning, we're trying to get the bike sorted. Danny is packing, he's gonna move the bike so we can actually pack it properly because it's packed a little bit tight. More than everyone. I will show you my favorite bike, what we're gonna get in the future with Danny. That's a nice one. There are some nice bikes around here and we are here on our little scooter, not big scooter anymore. Yes, ours is a 160 so it's not tiny. We could have had the 150 but he said take this one, the nice new one. That took a while. Ready to go now. Get on. Right, time for breakfast. Let's go. Danny decided not to talk to me this morning. I'm concentrating on the road so you don't die. So we have arrived in a very popular spot for breakfast here in Ann, Wonder Curry and Rice. Link in description. It looks so busy. Let's check it out. Danny, what are we having? I think you know what we're having. In Northern Thailand, there's only got to be one thing and just because we've arrived, I want Khao Soi. Yeah, me too. Right, so I've just been shown over there that three different Khao Soi's they have here. The lovely gentleman over there was just showing me three different Khao Soi's and they're so different. Pork, beef and chicken. The colour of the broth is completely different. Obviously, chicken is, I think chicken looked the nicest for me because it was quite thick. Then it was pork, which was a little bit lighter and beef, super dark and rich beef and that beef looked really, really nice. So maybe we should have ordered beef as well, but we have chicken. The guy who brought us loads of satay's, he said, Annie? And I was like, no, I didn't order that. Yeah, and these satay's looks really good as well. They are grilled on like a little barbecue, but the barbecue is in the oven and looks so cool. I'm starving. Food has arrived. Check this out. Smells good. So yeah, we're going for the Khao Soi. You can see you've got the crispy noodles on top. They put a sprinkling of coconut oil on top. What I noticed with this one straight away is the curry is actually a bit thinner. The ones I've had before is very thick and creamy. This doesn't look thick and creamy. The actual broth is thinner. Right, so what you normally add to Khao Soi is you have these pickled greens, you have lime and you have shallots. And also here they have a chilli oil as well. It's not spicy enough for you already, chuck some of that in as well. So add your shallots, gives it a bit of crunch. I love these ones. I've already got my greens in here already and I'm going to add just a little bit of chilli. It's almost like shredded chicken. Look at that. Now they make this beautiful thing a mess. Oh, that is really good. That's not too sweet. The flavour is really good, but I think what this needs is more chilli. This is not spicy enough for me. So I'm going to add some more chilli to this. Right, let me try this delicious food. I can see already it looks yummy. I've got a whole chicken thigh in here. Wow. Right, let's try the broth first. Oh, wow. Oh, this is yummy. Only a little bit spicy. It's like loads of coconut in there. Look how rich that broth is. This is so good. But what I love about Khao Soi is that you have mix of normal egg noodle and then you have the crispy fried noodle on top, which I'm going to try now. Basically, you get that crunch of super crispy, thin and light noodles. And then you have those egg noodles. It's so good. Oh, I love that combination. That chicken is so soft. So that was only 130 Baht. Really good price and really good food. Yeah. Would we recommend this place? Yes. I'd come and check it out. There's so many places here in Naan or in the center of Naan town that do a good Khao Soi, but this is one we went to. I'd recommend it. Yeah. And this is one of the most popular ones as well. So popular that I think they have two shops in town. All right, time for my favorite bit. The thing I like the most, except for Diggy, getting on the bike. Yeah, we are super excited and cannot wait to explore this province, guys. Naan already stole our hearts. So let's go and explore more. Ready to put your bum on the boiling seat, it is so hot. Yeah, I am. So right. Just a quick coffee stop because it's hot. We need refreshment. So cute, Nala. Oh, yeah. Oh, wow. Yeah. So we came just for a quick coffee stop because it's really hot. It's summer now in Thailand. So temperatures are rising. Today it's going to be 39 degrees. The thing is, yeah, the good thing about this is that it's not so busy. We spoke to Pia when we arrived and he said basically, yeah, it's summer, so not so many tourists. The roads are really quiet and the roads are beautiful. So smooth as well. I can see why bikers love it here. I'd like to come here with a big bike. That'd be amazing. You have a big bike. What are you talking about? It's not big enough. Right, let's go look at the menu. Coffee. Grab a coffee. What a beautiful view. It's amazing. There's so many cafes to choose from here. We couldn't tell you to go to one because most of them have amazing views. So we just picked this one out of a bunch. The one we were going to go to was very busy, but this one, no people. Amazing. Look at that. Drinks are delicious. Cheers. Really good. I think this was for a matcha latte. It was 65 baht, so a good price. And this is really nice. And I went for iced mocha as well and it's super tasty. Not too sweet at all. Yeah, but also we're going to put the link in the description because it's a really nice view. It's quieter than those pretty ones over the Instagrammable ones. But I like it here because... They have the same view. It's the same view. They're two minutes distance between each other. If you don't want it too packed, too busy, come to this one. This is Kew Muang Hill and the other one is Kew Muang Viewpoint, I think. So that's the two differences. But the same view in both. Yeah, exactly. Basically, we went to the other one because Joe recommended it to us. Sorry, Joe, but that cafe was packed. Your video probably sent everyone Yeah. Well, we're just sitting on a terrace by ourselves. There's some people inside the cafe. Yeah. Beautiful, beautiful view. And this is only just the beginning. Right. Let's get to the next point. It's getting towards midday. It's getting hot and we're going somewhere pretty cool, I think. So let's take you there. Let's go. Come on, jump on. Let's go. It's so beautiful. There are so many old style Thai houses. It's green, the plants, trees everywhere, flowers, birds singing. No traffic. You actually see there is nobody, nobody on this road. I don't know where people are. Where they all gone? Maybe they're hiding from the sun. It's a bit of a hot one today, but there just seems to be no one around. Look at this house. Sorry. Wow. Unfortunately, we are here in the summer, so all the beautiful green rice fields are not green anymore, but it's still beautiful. If you will come here in the winter, I bet all the roads would be green. Correct me if I'm wrong. We're going. It's 39 degrees. We need to cool down. Go to the beach. Hello. Hello. One hour? Our Thai isn't that great. You guys watching might actually know what they're talking about, but we're getting there. This is all the fun of it. It looks cool, Danny. Look. I think we will have to jump in our clothes. Two hours for 100 baht actually for two people, so not bad. I'm going. I'm going. What do you see in this water? It looks so clear. That reminds me when I was a kid we used to come by the river all the time. Hello. Fat foreigner. I said we're going to take you to the beach. It's a cool spot, isn't it, Danny? It's a bit cold. This is nice and cool. Actually, just putting your feet in cools you down so much here actually. I don't know if I'm going to go in in. It's a bit cold. Should I go in? It's actually quite cold here. Because it's so hot outside, it's freezing. I think my feet are getting used to it so it's actually a nice temperature. I don't know. Should we go in? I'm going to have to get my boobs out and jump in. I don't want to wear the white one in the river. I take ages to do this. I'm going to count for you. Make it easy. One, two, three. On a three, you go. It's not that bad once you're in as I always say. That's actually quite nice. That's okay. That's nice. Look down the river. I'm going in too. We didn't bring any swimming costume or bikini so I'm going in my clothes on. What do you think? Is it okay? I love it. It's so nice and cool now. I absolutely love it. We were boiling hot. It's 39 degrees summer in Thailand and this is absolutely perfect spot when you come to Nan and you're a bit hot. Come here. Come and jump in this river. It's so nice. This is what you should be doing when you come to Nan. Take these amazing roads and just come for a swim in the river. I'm really lucky though because I didn't think there'd be much water here but I think it's like nearly chest height here so it's nice. Now we're in for a while. It's not cold. It's so cool. I love it. This is just like I don't know if you guys do the same but when you move around and travel, just look at maps. Just look at random points on the maps. We found this beach so let's go. Why not? What a beautiful beach it is. It's a Thai holiday Buddhist holiday I think today so there's loads of families here chilling by the river. Loads of kids on their rubber rings. Whole families having a picnic on this little hut as well. It's so nice. I absolutely love it, Daniel. It's cool. There's food here as well. They've got a grill going with gai yang so lots of fried chicken. But there's only one thing missing. What? There's no beer because it's a Buddhist holiday. There's no beer today so one day we're here, no beer. It's so nice just to relax here with a beer. This is Beach Inan. Check this out. Gorgeous. Great spot for Sunday relaxing. Come here with your family. Come here with friends. All that's missing is a nice cold beer. We're going to dry out and we're going to make a move. We've been here for like an hour, hour and a half. It's time to go explore the rest of Inan. And we're hungry again as well. Believe it or not. This place is cool. Come check it out. If you're in the area or in this district around here, just come here. It's so much fun. And it's cheap as well. It's 130 baht with the ring. It's good. Really good. So hot. It's completely different heat than in Bangkok. It's dry heat. So you feel like I don't know. It reminds me of the European summer a little bit. It's scorching hot but you don't sweat. There's no humidity. It's amazing. We haven't felt it like this since we've been in Thailand. Really like a dry heat like this. It's nice. It's not humid. It's not sticky. It's just hot but like Diggie said, no sweating. So we found a little place to stop for lunch because we're starving. It looks really cool here. Take a look. So this lovely lady is just preparing our food but look at the colour of that broth. It's so dark. It's going to be rich and I already know it's going to be delicious soup. Yeah, so it's a bit hot. We grabbed ourselves some drinks. I've got myself a Rosalee juice. I like this one. It's really good. And Diggie has got herself let me read it quickly, a pea and lime. You see the colour of that? Look at the purple. Alright, let's pour these out and try them. I'm going to try Diggie's first. Can I try it? Yeah. Look at the colour. Oh, that's really nice. It's not too sweet. It's nice and refreshing. And I got Rosalee. This is really nice as well. I had this before. This is nicer than the pea one I think. I like this one more. So I got myself a Tom Yum. The first observation is it's not bright orange like in Bangkok. Check the colour out quickly. Let's give it a go. I've never tasted a Tom Yum like that before. It's slightly smoky actually. I don't know what they've done here. The soup is like smoky flavour. That's not a traditional Tom Yum, I know. I don't know how to explain that. It's not sweet like the ones in Bangkok or we've had before in anywhere in Thailand. But that flavour, Diggie, you have to try this. I can't explain the flavour. But really nice. Not in a bad way. It's really good. Alright, let's try some of this lovely soup. The broth looks so rich, so thick as well. I've got Ok. So I went for Kway Teow Rua. Oh wow. This is nice, sweet, super smoky. I don't know super, super smoky broth. It's amazing. It's so good I also got pieces of pork and beef. This is so good. I've never eaten anything like that before. This is really, really nice food. Let's try some of this meat as well. Oh, it's so soft. Melt in your mouth. I just found out why that soup tastes so smoky. There is here a black chilli powder and it's smoked, guys. Look at that. These are chillies. Smells so smoky. This is really good. This should be sold as a spice in a shop because it tastes amazing. I'm telling you. Look, also we got a little pork, what do you call it? Scratchings? Pork scratchings. That's what we used to call them back at home. Daniel, are you having some? Spicy. Honestly, all the food we had so far in Nam is on another level. I love it. Oh, lovely people. They wanted to chat about motorbikes but we don't understand, unfortunately. Hello. Alright, now let's show you another thing you can do, another thing you should do in Nam. Do you like my outfit, guys? I had to get myself a sarong because my trousers are in a bike, wrapped up in a bag. I don't want to remove it. It takes freaking ages. One thing you cannot miss when you're in Nam. This is what? Pouquet. Yeah, so this thing is a temple. I can tell you maybe a bit about it later but the main thing people come here for is one, is the views and it's a beautiful temple in itself but you can actually look out across the whole valley from this temple as well. There is a ceremony in a temple so we're not going to go inside and disturb them but it's so beautiful. Look at the details on the wall. Look at these flowers. Hello. Oh my god, the views. Oh my god, check out these views. These kids were so cute, weren't they? So cute. I loved taking pictures with them. Yeah, they were singing songs as well, dancing. Beautiful. They're practicing their English as well which is nice. They're saying where they are, where they're from, who they are, what their age is. Yeah. But I came here for this as well. This is pretty cool. Check this out. Look, you can feed the fish. Look at me. Right, so check this out. You pay 10 baht for some fish food and here is a tube. Now look where this goes. You can feed the fish from up here. Have a look. What? That's pretty high. Yeah, let's do it. Got my fish food. Let's chuck it in and see if any fish go for it. Ready? Yeah. I wonder how long it takes to come out. Let's go. It's going. There it is. Oh yeah. I think maybe they've eaten a lot today. There's a lot of empty bottles here. But it's just a funny concept. Yes, this temple is called Wat Phuket and if you're in the north of Thailand, basically if you've got a mountain, it's called Doi or Phu. So this is where Wat Phuket comes from, not from the island that we all know in Thailand. But this place, like we said before, is mainly known for the view and it's an amazing view here. I come here for the view and to feed the fish. It's quite fun to do. But no, people are lovely around here as well and this temple is beautiful. But like we said, we can't go inside because there's some ceremony going on. But the whole grounds are really nice. If this was like in full green and all the rice foods were in plants and coming out green, this view would be even more amazing. But yeah, you have to come and check this place out for yourself. And there's loads of Instagram spots if you like all that stuff as well. So this was just a quick visit in Wat Phuket. We have to get to our accommodation before 6 o'clock because we want to see the sunset. So let's go. We didn't catch a nice sunset yesterday. Because we're going to be up in the mountains, we want to actually see this go down. So we have two hours to get to Sepang. Can we do it? Probably, but there's some places we want to see on the way as well. I know, but we will try. Let's go. Let's talk it while moving. Right, ceremony just finished. Let's go inside and quickly show you how beautiful this temple is. Yeah, so you saw there, the things hanging from the ceiling. Basically, people are probably giving gifts for merit and they're hanging them up to put the money in. I think it has something written in the last slot. I don't know what it says because I don't want to be intrusive and try and read it with Google. But yeah, it looks really nice. It's beautiful in there. Let's go. We just had to quickly stop and show you this view. I am speechless. This is beautiful. And how quiet it is. Just listen. Cool. This is crazy. There's literally mountains on both sides. Some of these roads around here are named Floating Road because it's right on the ridge. So you've got to drop off one side, pop the other side and it looks like it's floating. It's called 1081 and I've just seen a sign that says scenic area. So this is the place where everyone comes to take their pictures. It's called the Floating Road. I can see minivans coming back this way. I think people go for days up here. Right, we just stopped. It's a scenic area here and it's a viewpoint. So we're just going to show you quickly how beautiful it is. Check this out. Make you feel a bit dizzy looking down there. Wow. This is one of so many viewpoints along this road. There's maybe 3 or 4 along this road. We're just stopping at the main ones to show you guys. If this was a completely clear day, you could see for miles here. It's a bit smoggy or I'm not too sure. You can still see for a long way. It's beautiful. This is what Nan is about. Views, amazing roads, nice food and we haven't even started really yet. We've still got a lot more to see yet. We're just passing Sapan bridge. It's busy. Look, a little street food market. I can see our accommodation already. That looks amazing. We have arrived. This looks crazy. When you're going to see the views, you're not going to believe where we are. Oh my God. This is just amazing. Hello. Nice to meet you. You can call to eat in the room and eat here. I would like this one, please. We're going to also have a lovely dinner. We're going to our room now. The lady is going to take us. I don't know what the number is. I'm so happy. This is already exceeded my expectations. Wow. Do you want to take helmets, baby? We just ordered our food. You can see what we've got. This is for two people. It's basically a mix of loads of different foods. What you do, you have your sticky rice. It looks like Northern Thai sausage. You've got veggies. You've got that chilli sweet dip you had before in the market you saw. It looks like we've got some pork dish there. It looks like we've got larvae as well. Basically, you just help yourself to what you want. You have it with rice. You have it with veggies. It looks amazing and smells really good as well. I'm ready to get sucked into this. I'm going to go for this one. As always, amazing. I love the sausage here. Absolutely amazing. Really nice. Yummy. What next? I think I'll go for the larvae. I think it's larvae. It smells really good. It's really nice. I think that's pork. Pork larvae. Not too spicy. A little bit spicy but loads of flavour in there. It's really nice. Let's cover it with this chilli dip. Here you go. This looks nice. Smells good. That's really tasty. That chilli with the pork scratchings is not spicy chilli. Slightly sweet. Pickly. I like this. That's my favourite. Shame this doesn't move. That would be cool. This is a perfect ending to a busy and beautiful day in Nan.
