Carbohydrate : Carbohydrates, or carbs, are sugar molecules. Along with proteins and fats, carbohydrates are one of three main nutrients found in foods and drinks. Your body breaks down carbohydrates into glucose. Glucose, or blood sugar, is the main source of energy for your body's cells, tissues, and organs.
Eg .bread, beans, milk, popcorn, potatoes, cookies, spaghetti, soft drinks, corn, and cherry pie
Protein : Proteins are made up of building blocks called amino acids. There are about 20 different amino acids that link together in different combinations. Your body uses them to make new proteins, such as muscle and bone, and other compounds such as enzymes and hormones.
Eg. seafood; meat, poultry, and eggs; beans, peas, and lentils; and nuts, seeds, and soy products.
Vitamins : vitamins are a group of substances that are needed for normal cell function, growth, and development. There are 13 essential vitamins. This means that these vitamins are required for the body to work properly.
• Eg. citrus fruit - including oranges and grapefruit.
• red and green peppers.
• potatoes.
• strawberries, blueberries and blackberries.
• green leafy vegetables - such as broccoli and brussels sprouts

Water: Up to 60% of the human adult body is water. According to Mitchell and others (1945), the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%.
Eg. The adult human body contains 40 liters of water which forms 60% of the body weight. Drink ample water and juices
Minerals : Minerals are those elements on the earth and in foods that our bodies need to develop and function normally. Those essential for health include calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, chloride, magnesium, iron, zinc, iodine, chromium, copper, fluoride, molybdenum, manganese, and selenium.
Eg.
• meat.
• cereals.
• fish.
• milk and dairy foods.
