youtube shorts will not get you
monetized youtube shorts
alone will not grow your youtube channel
youtube shorts
could in fact hurt your channel these
sound horrible
and that's the ugly truth but there's
more to this wait for it hello if you're
new around here i'm alan
i'm a youtube certified expert and i
help grow your youtube channel recently
to prove that my methods work i started
a second youtube channel grew it to over
7000 subscribers in three months and got
that monetized and that's where i
learned this ugly truth
the ugly truth about youtube shorts and
you can too just
smash that like button and we'll get
started are we
we ready i'm i'm gonna wait until you
smash youtube shorts is a powerful tool
that can get your face in front of
other people even when you have a very
small audience
if you can hijack a topic that's either
trending right now
or make a video that is engaging within
a niche
it will place itself next to all of your
nearest rivals in that specific topic
and can hoard in a load of people
youtube shorts are fantastic for
building
communities from xero in fact i used
youtube shorts to catapult
my new youtube channel and then built
that base and started creating further
content as you can see here youtube
short youtube short youtube
short hundreds of thousands of views and
in the process
hundreds if not thousands of subscribers
from those videos alone but the ugly
truth is
if that's all you are going to do then
you are running the risk of shooting
yourself in the foot
one youtube shorts does not give you
watch time towards monetization for you
to be monetized you need 1 000
subscribers total
and 4 000 hours of watch time over
a rolling 12 month basis simple right
200 000 views half a minute ago 100 000
like minutes you're halfway no
no youtube do not count the short shelf
views
or short plays as monetizable watch time
it doesn't even count towards the 4 000
hours it also
can't place adverts against it so
therefore
you get next to nothing in ad revenue
which leads me to
point number two how are you going to
make money on a 30 second clip unless
you're in the us
where there is a chance that you might
get picked by the shorts program
where they've got 100 million dollars
and they're slowly throwing out money to
people you don't actually make money
directly from a youtube show
youtube can't place adverts against it
and they don't run b-rolls
or video adverts in front of them they
might do on a desktop
but they certainly don't pay us creators
you also can't see the description that
easily
so affiliate links are very hard to come
by so three you may be able to engage
people
and you may even get subscribers but in
the long run if you're only turning out
short form content your channel will
struggle to get over a watch time will
struggle to get additional money
and therefore will struggle to rank in
search
long term the issue here happens to be
is behaviour of the user in my case i
was able to
pair this up on my crypto rookie channel
once again this is the channel that
i took from zero to 7 000 subscribers
and monetized in three months i use the
youtube shorts as a hook
a way to bring them in to say hello to
build an audience around a specific idea
once i know that those videos got me a
few hundred thousand views
and a few thousand subscribers i then
started making
longer form videos for them to indulge
in because i've proven that this is the
type of people that watch that 30 second
clip so maybe they'd want to watch a 5 6
7 10 minute video based on exactly that
topic case in point maybe you're doing
knitting tutorials
in 30 seconds then you want to do a
longer form knitting pattern
video for them to binge watch later
maybe you're showing people how to do
headshots in fortnite and then later you
want to show compilations and build
setups the ugly truth about youtube
shots is
that won't sustain your channel alone
unless you are sensible
and start using strategy to build up
watch time to beat the youtube algorithm

algorithm
