Rep. Michelle Caldier offers an amendment on House floor to build two diesel ferries - Feb. 24, 2024

During the House floor debate Saturday on Senate Bill 5950, the proposed supplemental operating budget, Rep. Michelle Caldier, R-Gig Harbor, offered Amendment 1109 to provide $450 million to pay for two new diesel ferries to increase reliability of service on Puget Sound. Before the vote, Caldier spoke on the House floor and urged her colleagues to support the amendment. Unfortunately, majority Democrats rejected Caldier’s proposal.
