Rep. Dan Griffey calls on Gov. Jay Inslee to declare fentanyl an emergency

During a bipartisan press conference highlighting legislation to address the fentanyl crisis in Washington state, Rep. Dan Griffey, R-Allyn, called on Gov. Jay Inslee to declare a state of emergency on fentanyl. Griffey noted the emergency declaration would allow state agencies to cut through the red tape on addressing the various fronts of the fentanyl crisis so Washington state can do something real to address it and save lives . Griffey also called for a promise from the bipartisan group of lawmakers at the press conference to prioritize legislation on stricter punishments for those who traffic, manufacture, or distribute fentanyl in Washington state.
