YouTube has added a new content research tool that helps you find content gaps. Content gaps can help you fill the needs of your audience while playing into YouTubes search algorithm.
Understanding content gaps A content gap is a way of measuring what viewers are searching for and the results that they find. A content gap can happen when: Viewers can't find any results for their searches. Viewers can't find an exact match for their searches. Viewers can't find relevant videos for their searches, for example, the content is old or low quality. You may want to use a content gap as a starting point to research videos that don't exist or that could be improved.

easier this right here is the youtube
research feature tool basically for
anyone that's looking for video ideas or
wants to understand
how people are finding you and what your
audience wants from you this is exactly
what you need hidden under the analytic
tab on the left hand side of the desktop
you'll see the research option here you
can search specific keywords key phrases
you can see what is trending next step
you can actually see the searches that
your audience have searched to find you
this new tool has this fantastic little
trick where it actually tells you a
content gap what is a content gap this
is what people are searching for to find
you but they haven't necessarily found a
direct video or there's a gap that you
could
make a video feel that kind of content
gap and you could receive more traffic
based on those keywords you can filter
this by only the content gaps and give
you a nice long list of things that you
might want to make so for example on
mine based on my search results it's
suggesting i make how to download
youtube videos how to look at restricted
mode youtube videos and it even tells me
the search volume that i might expect
from this a lot of these in my own
personal suggestions happen to be videos
that i'm already doing very well with
in that specific niche and that may be
the same for you but that doesn't mean
that you can't make a video maybe your
last video
was a few months ago or a few years ago
in my case and there's a few things that
i might want to update there might be a
graphical interface change in my case
there may be a new feature or
functionality i might want to expand to
share on an ipad or an android phone or
anything like that basically make what
your audience is searching for and that
will pull them in after all all you're
looking for is a way to boost the amount
of videos that people are looking for
that youtube can then suggest continue
