Reacher will return for season 3 and it's sooner than you think.
We have some new updates on the third season of the hit Amazon Action series
and it's good news for fans of the beefcake drifter.
The show recently finished its second season, which received mixed reviews
and was almost universally agreed to be a step down from the first season.
Season 3 is looking to turn this critical consensus around by focusing on a more
Reacher-centric story. The third season is based on the book Persuader,
which finds Reacher undercover trying to gain the trust of a suspected arms trafficker.
The suspected bad guy is played by longtime actor Anthony Michael Hall,
who joins the cast this season. Audiences won't have to wait long
because the third season is already finished filming and is deep into editing and post-production.
This means that we can expect a much shorter gap between season 2 and 3
than we did between 1 and 2. In fact, we can expect the third
season to hit Amazon Prime inside of the next 3 to 4 months.
There are currently no set release dates, however quick post-production could mean
that we get the show before the summer. Rich then will of course return as the
former special investigator, however he will be joined again by a familiar face.
Neely will return for the third season, which is a departure from the original book where she does
not appear. The change is hinted at in the final episode of season 2 when the pair promise to stay
in touch more. Season 3 could offer a return to the tight storytelling of the first season
and could also offer Reacher a bit of a different story where he has to gain
someone's trust while not acting like a complete psycho.
