Beautiful Samara Weaving Portrait with a bit of commentary

hey everyone the portrait here i hope everyone is safe and doing well in this crazy time i haven't been posting much video lately but i have been doing a lot of live streams now youtube doesn't always send out notifications for those so i apologize i'm going to start posting more regular videos again this is from one of my recent live streams i slowed down the earlier part as it is really the most important part of the drawing because as i always say establishing the correct form and shape and tone value is more difficult and important while adding details is comparatively easier so as you can see i'm using shapes and tones to create forms and because i'm using a soft charcoal the medium is very easy to manipulate and tweak so i call this the sculpting method sometimes the clay method but the idea is really not new and it definitely has the advantage of engaging your intuitive side of the brain as soon as possible only after the unlining structure looks okay then i use dark tones to put to put down the features an eraser to put in the highlights and light tones i mean you can you can go over this and spend as much time as you want on this refining stage depending on how detailed you want the joint to be keep in mind more detail doesn't necessarily mean better just different very different styles the real time video will be posted on patreon and i hope this whole process demonstration will help everyone on their journey to either enjoy or becoming a better artist i'm also developing an app course for beginners that's going to make the whole learning process fun and easy since i know the challenges of trying to learn on your own i'll talk more about that in later videos because honestly everyone is capable of doing this whether you believe it or not any questions leave a comment thanks everyone and stay safe [Music] do [Music] you [Music] so [Music] [Music] you
