Yo we're out here at Taos with Aaron. Down slow mobile. Yeah getting it today.
We got Bo. Yes sir. Bo you ready man? Yes sir couldn't be more ready. All waxed up? Waxed up,
detaxed up. All ready to go. We got Riker. What's up? How's the legs feeling? F***ing tired.
Are you gonna send another backflip? Hey man if we find a spot then we find a spot.
Awesome. We got Rab4 strapping up.
Cornice drop. All right follow me.
First lap at Taos. He's bouncing through the pow.
That was like run of the season right there.
I've become one of the stuck people.
Even the snow had an entanglement. We did.
You look right there Kev at that peak. You're gonna drop in on the other side of that.
Amazing.
I dropped into the bowl. No way really? Riker saw it. Okay. Riker do you think we lost in Rab?
So Rab f***ing flew off the right side like far. Thankfully he didn't hit a tree or anything.
He's fine but he's got to go down right. Do you think he's okay? Yeah no he's fine.
Okay okay. He was like you see I can get back up and I was like I really don't.
Where are we headed to? St. Bernard. St. Bernard. St. Bernard.
This one that's open like if they closed off Wild West and everything over there
there should be a gate there and then we'll have no choice to go St. Bernard.
What's over this way? So over here is Wheeler Peak which is the tallest peak in New Mexico
just straight ahead kind of through these trees. Oh way over there? Yeah. Oh damn.
So it's 13,063 feet up there. I'm pretty sure that tall peak over there is Pike's Peak.
Okay. Kind of way away by Colorado Springs. No way. Yeah I dream about those bro. Wow.
People say they're just avalanche terrain. Wheeler Peak when there's good snow people
like to ride it but it's major major avalanche terrain too. I can't believe this is New Mexico.
This is amazing. Right? It's cool you see the contrast of the desert over there too or the
Wolf Creek and Colorado you know over there in those mountains it's like pretty much a wolf
creek. Oh across the desert flat? Yeah. Oh wow. Yeah. And where's the best place to get like a
board tune or wax? Down sub mobile. Down sub mobile. Link in the bio. Let's do it. Oh I like this.
Oh what's over there? I was just gonna like hop up uh on top of that.
What's in there? Oh look what I found. Dude there's like secret tunnels all over the place.
I don't want to go too crazy through here. Yo this is deep. There's some deep stuff.
Yeah like a little like baby tree um one of them has a landing.
This is heaven. This place is so cool like beautiful sunny day good great snow trees all around
and just incredible mountain peaks. We went to session this like kind of pillow section to uh
just like a freaking amazing tree forest. Check out this uh sticker right here.
So that's Michael Johnstone on the left and then George Medina on the right and basically these are
the two men that there's a there's another third man I'm forgetting his name currently but um
these two guys they got snowboarding kind of allowed at Taos, Taos Ski Valley. Um they're
they had a snowboard shop called Experience Snowboard Shop in Angel Fire. It was a super
rad shop you know. Quite often they'd go up to Taos Ski Valley where snowboarding wasn't allowed.
They'd hike up the hill you know in their split boards and do that whole thing. Come riding down
and like just had stickers you know free Taos everywhere free Taos free Taos free Taos. Yeah.
I don't know if you saw that face like kind of right there on the front side they hiked up it
and put a huge carving in it that says free Taos so the whole mountain could see it you know. Yeah
it was uh March 19th 2008 when the day that hell froze over so snowboarding was allowed at Taos and
yeah those guys are absolute local legends around here too so free Taos. And then another funny
thing is like when they when they first started the movement free Taos they ordered all these
stickers you know free Taos free Taos free Taos. The sticker company had never heard of Taos before
so they sent all the stickers free tacos. Yeah thousands and thousands of free taco stickers
you know and they placed them all over the mountain too. And now I'm so every year on 319
at 319 pm all the snowboarders go up to Al's Run which is that big face right on the front side
and just rip down you know. And it's all moguls and they used to say that snowboarders can't
ride Taos because of the terrain and they go and rip Al's Run right down so all for all for George
and Michael and it's a it's a good thing for snowboarding in New Mexico because I mean Taos
is one of the biggest and raddest mountains in the world you know and they used to say we couldn't
ride it but big shout out. We had an amazing day yeah thank you guys free Taos free Taos not free
tacos not free tacos. On 319 they give out free tacos there so it's a good time to come to Taos
yeah all right I'll be back 319.
