Taiwan plans to deliver its first 10,000-ton amphibious dock landing ship yushan this year, which has long been high expectations of the Taiwan Navy and the outside world. During the budget review by the Legislative Yuan's Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee, a member proposed that the Ministry of National Defense carry out daily and night training for helicopters of the three services to take off and land the "Yusan" and verify items such as weapons, oil and materials storage, loading, and medical personnel support, so as to give full play to the combat capability of the new warship. The committee passed the proposal without objection and requested an evaluation report from the Department of Defense.
The use of carrier-based aircraft, in addition to the navy has been in the sea patrol can also through the cruiser with air helicopter, extending the mission distance. What kind of helicopter can take off and land on yushan? What kind of helicopter can stay on the ship? Unlike the navy's carrier-based aircraft, which are mainly engaged in anti-submarine attack and search and rescue, Taiwan has much more expectations for the yushan amphibious dock transport ship.
臺灣計劃今年交艦的第一艘萬噸級兩棲船塢登陸艦“玉山”艦，一直以來都被臺海軍及外界寄予厚望。立法院外交國防委員會審查預算時，有委員提案要求國防部實施三軍直升機日、夜起降“玉山”艦的訓練，同時驗證武器、油料、料件庫儲、掛載、醫療人員支援等項目，讓新艦戰力得以充分發揮。該提案獲委員會無異議通過，並要求國防部對此提出評估報告。
艦載機的運用，除了在海軍行之有年以外，海巡也能透過巡防艦搭配空勤直升機的作法，延伸任務距離。而什麼樣的直升機能在“玉山”艦上起落？什麼樣的直升機又能常駐在艦上？與海軍艦載機主攻反潛、海巡艦載機專責搜救不同，臺灣對“玉山”兩棲船塢運輸艦的期待，遠不止於此。
