hi guys and welcome back to my channel
if you are new welcome my name is Santa
and on this channel we talk all things
home decor home athetics mixing high and
low with no old and in today's video we
are discussing some of my favorite faux
spring stems as well as some tips and
tricks as we transition into these
spring months so if this is something
you are interested in watching just keep
on watching I cannot believe we are
already coming into the spring months I
think I say that every single video but
these years seem to be flying by and
this Seasons keep getting shorter and
shorter in my opinion but in today's
video I'm going to do kind of a two-part
the first part we're going to do a
miniature shop with me I'm going to take
you guys to World Market Hobby Lobby and
Michaels just showcasing the best spring
stems that I came across Within These
trips things to look for and then the
second portion I'm going to take you
guys into my living room and walk you
through having multiple Arrangements
within One Singular space I've gotten
this question a lot about how you mix
how do you not overdo it and so so I'm
going to give you guys a little bit of
clarity and some pointers on what I do
when it comes to my space and bringing
in multiple Arrangements multiple
different types of stems and how to make
them all work and mesh well together so
hopefully you guys enjoy today's video
without further Ado let's get into
today's video our first stop is Michaels
and I have to admit Michaels is not a
place that I shop at very frequently I
definitely think it is a store that I
overlook but I do think that their stems
are a little overpriced in my opinion my
go to is definitely Hobby Lobby when it
comes to selection as well as pricing
but I did want to showcase the best
stems that I could find for the
springtime if Michaels is somewhere that
you shop on a regular basis versus Hobby
Lobby in some of the other areas but
typically when I shop for stems
especially during the springtime and
bringing color into my home I like
things to be a little bit more muted so
I will do light lavenders muted blue
thistle Lamb's Ear things that are not
in your face when it comes to color just
just cuz I don't want it to compete with
anything else so I think if you're going
to bring any color I would stick with
those tones unless you truly love the
bright colors and by all means please do
what makes you happy and what you enjoy
bringing into your home but these were
some of my favorite stems here at
[Music]
Michaels next up was World Market which
is a spot that I've been shopping at
more frequently they don't have a ton in
the floral department but I did want to
highlight the ones that I loved they had
these really beautiful bundles that were
available for $10 which I thought were
really fun but they do have a really
great selection they are on the pricier
side but if you love World Market if you
love their stem these were a lot of
really beautiful options as well to
bring in for that Springtime
[Music]
season lastly we are hitting my favorite
four stems hands down which is Hobby
Lobby they have the best selection of
stems their prices are very reasonable
especially when they're having their
sales which is the only time I think you
should ever shop Hobby Lobby but be on
the lookout for not only your florals
you also need to be on the lookout for
filler filler is very important when it
comes to putting an arrangement together
and that means your greens things that
aren't going to have a floral attached
to them things are going to act as a
filler like this lambier right here
bringing in color and texture so
definitely be on the hunt for some of
these really beautiful spring time
florals here at Hobby
[Music]
Lobby as a side note when it comes to
picking stems steer clear of anything
that is super stark white this just
reads faux in my opinion you want to go
for something like this Magnolia stem
that is definitely more of an ivory it's
a more softer look that stark white is
just going to read very unauthentic
versus something like this that's going
to have more of a softer appearance
[Music]
Cosmos are one of my favorite floral for
the springtime Hobby Lobby has four
different variations Ivory white a mauve
and a very dusty pink the ivory dust
pink and mauve are my favorite so if
you're wanting to pop in that color
those are really beautiful
option
[Music]
now having faux stems in our homes I
know are not for everybody I know some
people enjoy having real stems but for
those of us who enjoy having faux stems
the whole point is to trick people into
thinking the stems are real bundles like
this these super bright colors are going
to do the complete opposite so make sure
when you are shopping that you are
looking for things that have really
beautiful texture really nice coloring
even Your Greens you need to be on the
lookout for things that are super bright
green and just look faux are not going
to pass try something like this that
have a very muted tone down a little bit
more of a sagey green or kind of olivey
green are going to be beautiful in
anybody's
home all right first tip for you guys
when it comes to your faux stems they're
going to come very straight like this
now to make your stems feel more
realistic and have movement the first
you guys want to do is to really bend
them so they have movement and obviously
in real life branches don't grow stick
straight so by really manipulating your
branches to have some movement and to
have some Bend within the branches is
going to make them feel and look a lot
more realistic so that is the first step
when it comes to creating a really
beautiful and realistic Arrangement now
typically when I do style I will do odd
numbers this location that I bought
these from unfortunately only had four
of them so that is what we are pairing
with but my rule thumb I usually do odd
numbers when it comes to really anything
in Decor ornaments stems groupings you
usually do odd numbers I'm doing four in
this vase but typically I would probably
do five if they had them available but
this is the first Arrangement here in my
living room so the next Arrangement is
going to be going on my coffee table and
I'm utilizing a lot of the stems that I
already own so I paired the Water Crest
stems which are the brown ones white
Cosmo and and some asparagus bushes so
one thing I want you guys to pay close
attention to the reason why I did more
of a toned down look for this
Arrangement is because you guys can see
the Magnolia stems in the line of sight
I didn't want these arrangements to be
competing with one another hence why I
didn't do a ton of these cosmo flowers I
just popped them in for color and to
also showcase that we are in the
springtime but I brought in a lot more
Greener and a little bit more visual
interest and texture through these Water
Crest stems so pay attention to the
proximity in which you are styling your
stems as well as coloring those Magnolia
stems are very Brown they don't have too
much green on them so I wanted to play
off of those same natural Colors by
bringing in a more tone down and not so
inyour face Arrangement so that way they
would complement one another all right
and the very last stem we are going to
be bringing to my living room space is
this really beautiful dried German
status I really enjoy styling with this
for multiple reasons this brings in a
very muted color it brings in texture
and it's low profile so if you are in
the same predicament like me where I
have my TV behind me you don't want
anything that's going to be obstructing
your view so this is a really great
alternative now one thing I do want to
state to you guys obviously this is not
like inyour face spring I'm definitely
working with what I have but just giving
you guys some ideas on how to make
multiple Arrangements work in a single
room together and so definitely bringing
in another element like a dried stem
will definitely play well with some of
the other arrangements that I currently
have so I'm going to be just placing
this in the small base and lastly a lot
of people ask me how many Arrangements
can you have in a room now rule of thumb
is you want to have three Arrangements
per line of sight but I always I always
push the boundaries I don't always have
to be in a box you don't have to be in a
box either if you want four or five just
be conscientious of the colors that
you're choosing making sure that each
stem compliments one another you're not
bringing pink and purple into a room but
you're doing it in a very tasteful
minimal and muted way and I think it'll
look just fine so in a particular room
three Arrangements three to four
Arrangements per line of sight and again
to just make sure that all of those
arrangements complement one another play
with height texture and of course your
coloring and let me know down in the
comments if you guys want another video
like this maybe with a little bit
brighter colors just because I know this
is very toned down for spring I'd be
curious to hear your guys' thoughts Down
Below in the comments but yeah hopefully
you guys enjoyed today's video all right
guys and that is it for today's video I
hope you enjoyed uh do keep on the
lookout I'm going to be bringing you
guys a video as we get a little bit
closer into the spring months of some
spring floral arrangements just to kind
of inspire you guys on getting outside
your comfort zone being able to pair
multiple different faux stems together
to create really beautiful Arrangements
I've done this for fall winter and now
here we are spring so be on the lookout
for that video but until next time I
love you guys so much thank you for
being here and we'll see you guys in my
next video peace
