Hi everyone. Welcome to Cook Stacey Cook.
Today we are making broccoli and shrimp stir-fry.
This is another tasty and nutritious dinner recipe for your family.
It's simple and straightforward to make.
Let's get started.
Finely mince 5 cloves of garlic.
Divide a head of broccoli into smaller pieces.
Aim for roughly this size.
Marinate the shrimp with salt, sugar, white pepper powder,
a little bit of baking soda, some cornstarch and a little bit of rice wine.
Mix everything together.
And then add a touch of oil and sesame oil.
And mix them together too.
The last thing to prepare is the cornstarch and water mixture.
Make sure you stir the mixture until all the cornstarch has dissolved.
Now we are ready to cook.
Add some oil to a hot pan over medium-high heat.
Before the oil gets very hot, add half of the garlic we prepared earlier.
Let the garlic sizzle in the oil briefly to bring out the flavor.
Then add the broccoli.
Briefly stir-fry the broccoli until there is no more oil in the pan.
Then season with a little bit of sugar and salt.
Give the broccoli a few more toss.
Then add a little bit of water and cover the lid for 30 seconds.
Once the 30 seconds is up, the broccoli is done.
Open the lid and remove the broccoli from the pan.
Now add some oil back to the pan and pan-fry the shrimp.
Spread the shrimp out in the pan and let them pan-fry until the bottom is golden.
This takes about 1 minute.
Then flip the shrimp over and let them pan-fry on the other side for another minute.
When the time is up, add the rest of the garlic and stir-fry shrimp for 30 seconds
so it can pick up some flavor.
Then add some dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and a little bit of sugar.
Continue to stir-fry the shrimp until the color looks even.
And the shrimp is done.
Now pour the broccoli back to the pan and add the cornstarch and water mixture.
Remember to stir up the cornstarch and water mixture before you add it to the pan.
The cornstarch always settles to the bottom.
Stir-fry the broccoli and shrimp until the sauce in the pan thickens up and then disappears.
When there is no more sauce in the pan, this dish is done.
