Freedom House: PRC is the Greatest Threat to International Students in the US

Recently, the U.S.-based human rights organization Freedom House published an article stating that, in terms of nationwide repression, the People's Republic of China (PRC) poses the most significant threat to international students in the United States. The article argues that the PRC is implementing the most extensive nationwide oppression in the world. Freedom House found that the Chinese government conducted over 250 instances of national repression from 2014 to 2022 to intimidate, monitor, and harass international students and faculty members within school campuses across the United States, forcing them into silence.
