Learn how to factor by grouping. It works well with four terms. For example, ths polynomial would work for factoring by grouping, x^2 + 8x + xb + 8b
Factor by Grouping
Step 1. Group the first two terms together and the last two terms together. The third sign goes with the second group.
Step 2. Find the GCF of each group and divide each group by the GCF
Step 3. Write the GCF out front of each set from step 2
Step 4. Factor out the common BINOMIAL,and write the remaining terms as the 2nd factor.
