Our First Time in TAIWAN: mind-blowing 48 Hours Travel in Taipei! (best food & Beitou hot springs)

Now we're going on another food hunt Oh my gosh, I love taiwanese food This is so scary Hello guys, welcome back to a new video So today is the first day of 2024 and we just landed in taipei. Oh my gosh. I'm so excited Happy new year. Happy new year, and I really can't wait to kick start our seven-day trip in taiwan. All right, let's go Okay, so we just got our yo-yo card at this information desk Um, so basically the card itself is gonna cost you 100 taiwan dollars and on top of it You can choose to top up whatever amount you want and you can basically use this card to take public transport And pay at the convenience stores We just took the airport express train to taipei main station, which is where our hotel is located And by the way, apparently there are two types of trains you can take from the airport One is the regular service and the other one is the express train Which is much better because it only takes around 30 minutes. So it's gonna save you so much time Yay, we made it to taipei Oh, oh my gosh, I miss this weather so much Like even though it's still like 18 celsius, like it's not insanely cold, but I guess it's too much cooler than singapore Um, and I guess we're just sleeping on these double bunk beds tonight Um, and let's check out the bathroom because i'm curious how small it's gonna be Oh, okay, that's the shower area and here's me Where in taiwan you absolutely have to try their braised pork rice. So we came to this place called weijia fu rou fan. All right, let's see Okay, so this is the pie pork soup which is like pork ribs with um crispy pork in a soup Um, it looks very good Yeah Gosh, this looks insane So this is um rice with um pork belly braised pork belly and this is just the braised pork rice And also one more braised egg Yep The veggies here Oh Wow This is so cute All right, fish egg of the night We're serving very different vibes, but I was ready for food Oh Um, so we're now at this place this mall called chun place, um to meet up with one of renting's friends for dinner The dinner was super duper delicious Oh my gosh, I love taiwanese food. It's crazy. It's already Set a high standard and I think it's a michelin star restaurant like michelin one star or something Super super worth it. Shout out to emma. Shout out to emma. Thank you. If you're watching this video, I hope you are Um Okay, so now we're going to I think it's one of those asia's top 50 bars Um, it's called aha saloon and it's in the dan district because we kind of want to get a taste of what nightlife in taipei is like so let's see Nah He's come he's go Oh Wow the drinks were honestly so freaking good, it's insane They should top 50 bar the drinks are actually so so good like probably like my favorite like my top 5 like of all time But you know since we are feeling a little bit hungry now like after having some drinks We're gonna check out one of the night markets called Ningxia night market, so let's go We are now at Ningxia night market, and there is literally so much food here. Oh my gosh. I'm excited I'm so fresh right Whoa okay, so we're trying out the stinky tofu. I think this one is with the Salted egg yolk so it looks extra yummy But do you smell like the stink though? It smells normal What's with that face Peanuts ice cream and this cilantro. I hope it's better than a stinky tofu Is it good okay Okay, I guess our final dessert of the day is gonna be these sweet potato balls with seaweed powder Wow looks absolutely fabulous You see what I mean the flavor comes a bit after The best way to start off your day in Taipei is definitely to try out some authentic Taiwanese breakfast So now we're headed to this restaurant called Xi Duo Shi Zao Chan Dian But apparently it closes at 11, and now it's like 10 20 so fingers crossed we can make it Okay We're dining they only open on deal 1050 and now the time is 1040. I'm so glad that we made it So these are all really authentic Taiwanese breakfast So I'm just gonna get the egg crepe Probably with the youtiao fried dough as well After you take out a straw you just put it and there's a little gap over here So this is the egg crepe and instead of it. There is two pieces of fried dough the youtiao How is it? And we are passing by this temple called the Xing Tian temple It's recommended by a lot of Taiwanese friends followers who said that you have to come here to pray for prosperity and good luck We are just doing our own version of Taipei City walk right now like basically aimlessly strolling around the city But we're feeling a little bit thirsty, so we're gonna find a cafe to get some drinks Okay, and that's the cafe that we are going to it's called Ming Sheng Gong Yu Crispy on the outside This is gonna be so good Just had a very filling meal and now we're at this place called Songshan Cultural and Creative Park It's kind of like an artsy neighborhood where people go for creative events And there's also a very famous bookstore called Cheng Bing Shu Dian. So we're gonna check it out It's reading something Wow, that's magic Okay, whichever page I flip to will be my next destination London That's too basic, okay one more try Towson? Is it Chicago? Oh my gosh, that's totally Chicago Oh my gosh, that's the most iconic building in Taipei Taipei 101 I really love the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park area like it's so artsy, so chill I really wish I could stay there longer, but now we're going on another food hunt We're going to this place that's pretty far away to look for a very famous taro ball dessert restaurant, so let's see Oh There are so many taro ball dessert places around this area Here we are 阿爸園 If you can't read Mandarin, this is kind of profane, but let's see if it's actually that good, okay This is humongous Just look at this Right 你好,這個會到新明路D嗎? And just to show you guys where we are right now like we're literally like in the mountains Yeah So we travel all the way up north to Beitou because one of our friends recommended, you know, the hot spring in Beitou to us But then like when we got off the minibus, we were kind of like in the middle of nowhere Okay, so the hotel that we're going to is called Grand View Resort Hotel It's a five-star hotel, but the location is not very accessible from like all the train stations Yeah, it's not very nervous And we kind of missed the shuttle bus to the hotel. So we're literally like walking all the way there Okay, let's see how that goes. At least it gives us pretty good views from here. What happened to my voice? Okay, I guess we made it. Are we still renting? Oh my gosh I Been out of my head Can't get out of bed Too much on my brain, but got it good It's like I'm losing my mind Oh So before we get into the hot spring we're gonna enjoy our dessert I think it's like cheese or something Homemade cheese cheese yogurt I put a dress on today. I don't get what you say Wow, that was a super duper nice experience. I feel like I can fall asleep like right here right now My phone is about to die, but we just came to this eat-a-cry restaurant because we're super duper hungry and we ordered these Skewers, it's so freaking good. Oh my gosh, dude. I am crying on the inside Right So at this point of the video I was just in my natural euphoric state which led to me totally not filming an outro You know, I was really trying my best just to look for any clips that can use like any horizontal clips I can throw into the video, but Unfortunately, there is nothing but on a positive note This is not gonna be the end of my Taiwan travel series Because after Taipei I went to Taichung do some nature stuff before heading over to Tainan So definitely stay tuned for that.
