Unveiling Lahore's Heritage | A Tour of Lahore Museum | Dekho Pakistan | Discover Pakistan
The heart of Pakistan, Lahore.
And the most beautiful city of Lahore.
I'm at Mall Road.
Behind me you can see the bangles.
On my left is the Punjab University Old Campus.
And on my right is the Lahore Museum.
Today I feel like taking you to the history of the old city.
Where different religions and traditions are present.
I will introduce you to everything.
You will see the program.
Dekho Pakistan with Ameen Afeez.
The central gate of Lahore Ajaibgarh.
On the right and left of the gate are two cannons.
It is written on the cannon that this is the cannon of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's era.
Finally I have reached the central gate of Lahore Ajaibgarh.
Now I will go inside and show you.
Dekho Pakistan with Ameen Afeez.
Ajaibgarh Lahore.
If you enter Lahore Ajaibgarh, you will see a central dome.
This dome has three floors.
Lahore Ajaibgarh was completed in 1894.
The fresco painting of this dome reminds us of that era.
Now let's go to the Lahore Museum.
There are such historical doors at the beginning of this gallery.
The first door is the door of Shalimar Bagh.
A beautiful and colorful painting has been done on it.
You can see that there are birds on it.
It has been done in such a beautiful way that it is amazing.
This is the wood of the Bera area of Sargodha district.
What a wonderful artist has done on it.
He has made flowers on it.
I feel like kissing the artist's hands.
He has shown his art on the wood.
This is the door of the Akbari style.
You can see that the doors of the old city were lit with lamps.
The walls of the Akbari gate are made of brick.
The doors are made of lime and mud.
There is also a place to keep small lamps.
Now I will show you a door that symbolizes Buddhism and Hinduism.
You can see that the artist has made the pictures of the Hindu deities on such a wonderful wood.
Even today, the one who sees it, keeps on seeing it.
In this small picture gallery, various pictures of the Hindu deities have been displayed.
In which important information has been provided about their bravery, wars, and their private lives.
Now I have come to the Indus Civilization Gallery.
This is a gallery that takes you to the stone age.
Whatever was there at that time, the things that humans used, they used through stones.
You can see that this is a human being.
He used to hit stones and create a fire.
It is said that the stones were carved in such a way that they were made sharp.
Even if they hunted him, they used to make people-friendly stones through the stones.
They used to hunt animals with it.
They used to remove the skin of their prey through these stones.
This axe and this hammer, only stones have been used in it.
You know that there were only wood and stones on it.
That is why the tools that were made by mixing these two were also used for hunting.
Even the exchange of knives was done through these stones.
The signs of Balochistan's Mehargarh show that human beings have become so conscious
that they have also started making clay vessels for their needs.
And you can see that this small glass of clay,
and a clay vessel to store it,
these small things can be seen to grind different things.
Similarly, when the clay vessels were made by humans,
they became more conscious.
So they started making maps on these clay vessels.
Right now, I have come to the Nawadrat of Harappa and Mohenjo-daro.
Where you can see that the clay vessels were first invented.
And we know that this is the same era of 2600 BC,
where you can see the Nawadrat here.
And for the first time, it is said that this bull cart was made for commercial use.
And it was used in business in the same way.
Then, you can see the different weights for weighing and weighing.
As we say today, 100 grams, 200 grams, 500 grams, 1000 grams, 1 kg.
You can see all these things here.
All this history is known to us only after coming to the Lahore Museum.
The writings that were written here at that time,
experts say that they have not been able to understand this writing till today.
Which language was it?
But anyway, whatever language it was, it was the language of that era.
And it was for the use of people.
The Ludo that we see today, the chess that we see,
they say that this is also not of today, but of that era.
You can see that the people who used to play Ludo at that time,
their different pawns are still similar to the existing pawns.
Similarly, you can see the pawns of chess.
For example, the chess that we play today,
there is a king, a minister, a cannon, a white, a pawn.
So, the same kind of shape is also called the pawns of chess.
And further, it is said that when a person died,
he was buried with his belongings.
He thought that perhaps these things would come in handy in his next life.
All this, you come and Lahore Ajaybgad will be the source of your knowledge.
The model that is kept in the gallery,
this is the model of 2600 BC,
in which the area of Harappa and Mohenjodaro has been marked,
that where people used to live and their civil system,
it was made according to such a planning,
that if it used to rain, a flood used to come,
then there was no water in the streets and houses.
Today, you can see that the Orange Line Metro train has also been built.
And the metro bus has also been built.
We have also made progress.
But if you go out of these big roads and go to the streets,
then the water of the sea bridge and the sea bridge gutters are still closed.
I feel that I should catch Vasa Hukam and take him to Mohenjodaro and Harappa areas
and show them how they made the sea bridge system.
Today, if we copy it,
then the water that is scattered in the streets of people,
the water of the sea bridge,
they can be saved from it.
There are many other historical monuments in this gallery,
Now I have entered the Islamic Gallery.
And let's see what all is here.
Here we can see that tilla has been done on silk and woolen clothes.
And see what an era it was.
It was a very good time.
How they used to wear clothes.
There was silk and a great kind of fried mango in it.
Look at this.
These are royal robes.
And look at the embroidery on them.
Look at the embroidery.
What great artisans have expressed their art on clothes.
And look here too.
These are the clothes of Bukhara.
And the faces of the people have been made on it.
The human body has been carved on clothes like this.
Clothes are made even today.
And there is a great fashion design on it.
But the clothes of the old days,
the embroidery on it,
the handwork on it.
Kashmiri shawls are still very popular.
But even then, the style of Kashmiri shawls,
you can see how many colors have been used in it.
These shoes,
these are shoes from different parts of Bar-e-Sagheer.
The color used on it,
the embroidery on it.
Today, there is so much machinery.
But when there were no machines,
people used to do all the work by hand.
The things made by the hands of the artisans,
we still see them today.
And look here,
the wooden shoes that were made as sandals,
you can see them in this gallery too.
In Lahore, Ajaybgarh,
the paper,
the utensils that were made from it,
in the past,
you can see these utensils here too.
These utensils are so beautiful.
Look at the engravings on it.
They are so attractive.
And look at this too.
This too is made from paper.
Different things made from it.
And the engravings on it,
how clear they are,
you can see them here too.
Now comes the wood,
which is made of clay.
It is so beautiful.
What an amazing design.
It was made in the first period.
It is still made today.
Chinioti furniture is still famous.
But the furniture of the old period,
is also kept here.
Now look at this,
the work of Gesu.
I have heard this many times,
that the work of Gesu.
Today, I got the chance to come to the museum
and see it.
What an amazing color it has.
It looks like gold.
It is made of gold.
Look at this.
The different decoration pieces you see,
they are not made of plastic.
These are made of real elephant teeth.
These are the decoration pieces.
And these are of different types.
The utensils you see here,
these are pieces of elephant teeth.
They are used in the mini furniture.
This is a mirror.
It is a visible mirror.
But in the frame,
pieces of elephant teeth are used.
Due to which,
the beauty of this furniture increases a lot.
What an amazing type.
The joining of brass in wood.
First, you saw the joining of elephant teeth in wood.
Now, the joining of brass in wood.
Look at this.
What an attractive type of furniture it is.
Even today, it looks beautiful.
Whenever we go to the Haram Sharif for Umrah or Hajj,
to touch the Gulaf-e-Kaaba,
to see it,
and to ask Allah for His wishes,
this is also a big thing.
The pieces of Gulaf-e-Kaaba in the museum
are also framed and placed here.
Music and musical instruments
have a long history.
The musical instruments of
Bar-e-Sagheer Pak-o-Hind
are kept here.
I feel like playing the taar and saaz like this.
In the museum, you can see the arrows and bows.
You can also see different swords here.
The soldiers at that time
used to wear clothes like this during the war.
So that the head, neck,
and the vital parts of the body
could not be affected by the sword and arrows.
In the central gallery of Lahore Ajaibgarh,
different pictures of Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
have been displayed.
And you can see that
looking at these pictures,
it seems that Qaid-e-Azam
was always busy fighting for the freedom of Muslims in Bar-e-Sagheer.
In this gallery,
different pictures have been used
to depict the modern era.
This is not just a picture,
it is a real painting
in which our culture is represented.
In this gallery,
all four corners of Pakistan,
Azad Kashmir,
the northern areas,
and Kailash,
all parts of the culture
have been introduced.
Now I am in the gallery
related to the Jain religion,
where the statues
of their different leaders
have been kept.
What a wonderful way
work has been done on it
and how beautifully
they have been kept here.
The Jain religion
has been depicted
Here you can see
Peshwa Shri Atma Ram Ji.
And how beautifully
it has been made.
And here,
different statues
have been made
with each pillar.
The colors used in them
and the statues
have a complete history
in their own way.
In this gallery
of Kandahar culture,
different statues
of Buddhism have been kept.
It is said that
whoever comes to Lahore
does not stay without
seeing the Kandahar gallery.
Here, the different
statues of Buddhism
are the most important,
whose importance is
very high in the world.
These are the statues
of Buddhism.
In this gallery,
all the statues
and statues of Hindu,
Jain and Buddhist religions
have been kept.
You can guess
from this that
our history is so rich
in this area.
I think that
in any part of the world,
so many people of culture
and religion
who are present in this area.
And whenever you come to
Lahore Ajaibgarh,
the rich information
about Buddhism,
Jain and Hindu
religions you get here,
you cannot get
anywhere else.
The works of these great people
have been presented
in different pictures
in the best way.
In the second part of the gallery,
we can see that
the struggle of Tehreek-e-Pakistan
has been mentioned.
In these pictures,
the picture of Qaid-e-Azam
Muhammad Ali Jinnah,
Allama Iqbal and
Qaid-e-Azam's sister
has been depicted
in such a way that
these pictures are
proof of the struggle
of Tehreek-e-Pakistan.
And here,
the most important thing is
that when Qaid-e-Azam
Muhammad Ali Jinnah dies,
his funeral is brought.
Those pictures,
those unique pictures
are kept in this pictorial gallery
and in the end,
Qaid-e-Azam's grave in Karachi
is also shown
prominently.
In this gallery,
coins of different eras
have been kept.
Coins of the Mughal era
are also present here.
Coins of the British era
are also present here.
Coins of different Tughlaq families
and families
have also been kept
in this gallery.
The most important thing
of this gallery is that
we can see Pakistani coins here.
The smallest coin
was of one paisa.
Then there was a coin of 5 paisa,
10 paisa, 50 paisa
and all these coins
are kept here
prominently.
Today,
even if you take these coins
to any market,
you won't get anything.
Today, the smallest currency
is of one rupee.
And in one rupee,
I can say that you won't get
banana, apple,
dal, rice, double roti,
you won't even get
Even if you want to buy
a pill and a toffee with one rupee,
you won't even get that.
Now, in this gallery,
you can see that
different Pakistani coins
are also kept here.
And this currency
is that currency,
which was given to Pakistan
by the Indian State Bank
That is the currency
which was used in the beginning of Pakistan.
After that, Pakistan
made its own paper currency
and here in Ajayabgarh,
you can see that
two rupees, five rupees,
ten rupees,
and one hundred rupees,
which was our paper currency
in the initial period,
is kept here.
One of the qualities of this gallery
is that national honors
are given here,
civil awards,
military awards
are also kept here.
You can see that
in this gallery,
the various national honors
are also kept here.
Apart from this,
the civil honors of Pakistan,
the military honors of Pakistan
are also kept here.
You can see that
Pakistan's biggest military honor
is Nishan-e-Haidar,
after that Halal-e-Jurat,
Halal-e-Imtiaz,
Satara-e-Jurut,
all these honors are kept here.
In Lahore Museum's
historical gallery,
along with other famous personalities,
the poetry of East
Allama Iqbal
has also been written.
You can see that
it has been said that
Allama Iqbal was born on
April 21, 1937 in Sialkot,
and he died on
April 21, 1938.
It has also been said
that he had three wives,
one was named Kareem Bibi,
one was Sardar Begum,
and one was Mukhtar Begum.
Similarly,
the picture of Allama Iqbal's passport
and the picture of your
degree from Punjab University
has also been given here.
The picture of Allama Iqbal's
father, the picture of your brother,
the picture of Allama Iqbal's
mother, and the picture of
Allama Iqbal's sister
is also a part of
this gallery.
Now I am in the last gallery
of today.
This gallery is about
dark tickets and dark envelopes.
All the dark tickets
that have been issued
here from 1947
have been decorated
in this gallery.
I hope you
our information
about Lahore
today.

to take your leave
and keep watching
