“卓玛”是藏族对女子的称呼，它的意思是“度母”，一个很美丽的女神。度母是度脱和拯救苦难众生的一族女神，同时也是藏传佛教诸宗派崇奉的女性本尊群。因此二十一位度母在藏族地区被广大信徒或百姓普遍敬拜，有着极大的吸引力。

"Zhuoma" is the Tibetan term for a woman, which means "Dakini", a beautiful goddess. Dakini is a group of female deities in Tibetan Buddhism who liberate and save sentient beings from suffering, and are also worshipped as female deities in various sects of Tibetan Buddhism. Therefore, the twenty-one Dakinis are widely worshipped by believers or people in Tibetan areas, and have great appeal.
