Hi everyone and welcome back to my channel. In today's video I'm decorating
my home for Valentine's Day. I love decorating for Valentine's Day. I love
the bright happy spring colors with the pink and the red. If you know me you know
I love pink. And then I'm also going to be showing a little Valentine's baking
idea. It's really quick and easy but super yummy. So if you're in need of some
Valentine's motivation go ahead and keep on watching. Alright so first up I'm
going to be taking this Valentine's heart wreath and I'm going to be hanging
it up above my microwave. And this was actually a DIY project. It was using
dollar store items and I just followed a YouTube tutorial. So if I remember I'll
link it down below. If I forget just leave a comment if you're interested. But
it just used three dollar store items. Next up I'm going to be taking this
Valentine's spatula. I picked this up from Target and I just tucked that into
that crock. And then this towel is also from Target. It came in a two-pack. So I'm
going to hang one over the mixer just for cute little decoration. And then the other
towel I'll be hanging up here in a little while and that one we will
actually be using to dry our hands on. All of these Rae Dunn mugs that I'm
going to be showing I picked up from Home Goods. It's hard to tell on camera
but they're actually a pale pink color. I love them and as I find and collect
more of these pale pink Rae Dunn mugs for Valentine's Day I'll just add them
to this tiered stand.
And here's the kitchen with little touches of pink and red for Valentine's
Day. I love how it turned out. It adds just the right amount of the Valentine's
color in my opinion without going overboard. Now I'm heading into my living
room and I just popped up a Valentine's screensaver on the TV and then I'm going
to hang this garland across my mantel. I picked this garland up from Target and
it was only $3. It was a very affordable.
I got these heart picks from Dollar Tree and my idea was just to put them
into these flower vases on top of my bookshelves. And my two-year-old
accidentally got into them and so he broke some of them while playing with
them. I only had enough to fill up one vase so I will be picking up a second
set of those heart picks to put in the vase on the opposite bookshelf but it
just is not in that video. But like after the video I went and picked some up and
popped them in there so it does match now. This XOXO sign I picked up from
Home Goods.
This beaded wooden heart is also from Home Goods. And then all of the gnomes
you'll be seeing me put on my bookshelves are from the Dollar Tree. So
I'm just gonna layer that heart and the gnome together on this shelf.
And then once again just adding a Dollar Tree gnome. I love the gnomes that they
had there this year if you haven't gotten some yet. They had big ones, small
ones, and all different colors.
Moving over to the opposite bookshelf I'm taking another one of these beaded
wooden hearts from Home Goods and then another gnome. And I'm gonna layer those
together as well.
This little Valentine's sign I picked up from Home Goods.
So now that my home was decorated for Valentine's Day and it had all the happy
red and pink colors all over, I was inspired to make a Valentine's treat for
my family to enjoy. So to do this I'm just going to be alternating between
milk chocolate and white chocolate. And I'm going to lay those down on a cookie
sheet. And I also stuck down a layer of parchment paper underneath just to make
no mess. And then I preheated the oven to 170 degrees and I'm going to pop that
chocolate into the oven for 10 minutes just in long enough to get it all melty.
I ran out of toothpicks so instead of using a toothpick I'm just using the
handle of a plastic fork. And I'm going to drag the chocolate around and swirl
it together. You could make any pattern you want on this. You could leave it in
straight lines. You could swirl it like I did and it makes a nice pretty
marbled effect.
Once you have the pattern that you like, then now is when you will add the
touches of Valentine's. So you could add Valentine's sprinkles or heart shapes or
whatever you like. I just used this Cupid's mix of M&M's. So it's all the
reds, pinks, and whites. And I'm going to lay those down.
And then I'm going to be taking these plain red sprinkles as well as this red
and white mixed sprinkles and I'm going to just sprinkle those on. But I couldn't
honestly decide if I wanted to add sprinkles or not so to compromise I just
put the sprinkles on half of the chocolate.
Once you have it decorated how you like, you're going to put it in the freezer
for 30 minutes. And then you're just going to break up the chocolate bark
into little bite-sized pieces and put them on something cute. I decided to put
it on this marble and wood tray. I also think that it'd be really cute in a
heart-shaped candy dish or anything like that. The ideas are really endless and
it's just so quick and easy and you really could remake this for any holiday
using different decorations. I would love to know in the comment section down
below if you recreate this chocolate bark for Valentine's Day or any other
holiday. I would also love to know if you decorate your home for Valentine's
Day as well. And if you enjoyed this video be sure to give it a thumbs up.
Make sure you're subscribed to my channel so you don't miss out on any
future videos and I'll see you in my next video. Thanks so much for watching!
Bye!
