A Day In The Life Of Davidson College Baseball Commit Will Brooks

I'm will Brooks 2024 catcher I play for metalina Christian Academy and in the summer I play for dirt bags National and this is the day in the [Music] life for January's giveaway I am giving away another pair of 100% sunglasses but they are the hyper crafts and all you have to do to win these is going to be the same thing as last month you have to one be subscribed to the channel two like this video three leave a comment down below four watch this video all the way through to the end and do that for every video in the month of January and the winner will be announced on February 2nd here are all the dates that will be dropping videos be sure to follow all the rules to be entered into the giveaway and best of [Music] luck so I got into baseball at around the age of five I was in kindergarten and um a lot of my friends were going out and playing t-ball so it didn't really mean anything then so I was I was just going out and having fun um wasn't very good obviously but um yeah so one of the biggest influences for me going into baseball was my coaches for sure I've had a lot of coaches grow going from all the stages is of baseball up until where I am now a lot of great coaches and um they've really been there for me all the way and then my parents have pushed me to be the player that I am today so [Music] no I don't think there's any pressure because I've played this game my whole life and it's baseball doesn't Define me as a person um so I can just go out and I can just go out and play and um try to do what I can to help the team um there's really there's really no pressure [Music] just I'd say the biggest strength um I bring to the game is definitely my baseball I Q behind the plate um definitely my hands how I receive the ball um helping the pitcher out is is what I pride myself on the most and then I'd say um a weakness would probably be um not accepting failure but not letting that failure take over and if if you strike out one at bat not letting that carry on to the next at bat and when you go out into the field carry that into the field I got I got to um leave it leave it with the atat [Music] [Music] yeah [Music] all [Music] [Music] oh [Music] my favorite baseball memory um whenever I was really little um we were my travel team was playing a rival rival organization and it was in the championship game and it was the last inning and we were down by one run and um the bases were loaded and I ended up hitting a walk-off Grand Slam to to win the game so I don't think you can get much better than that okay so my mindset behind the plate is um I anytime I go out there it's just like a bulldog mentality like we're going to um I'm going to get the pitchers to to put the throttle down and get a pace going and I like to if if a pitcher's got got a good Pace going I want to keep them on that pace and um I don't want anything to get to get by me I just want to I want to help them out as much as I possibly can and bring a lot of energy if we if we get a big out or or a big pitch um I want I want everyone to know that that's a big pitch and that's a big out and we just and we just did that [Music] so that's all um we started off we started off the day um in the cages Hitting off the tea for a few rounds and then we headed over to do some flips in the cages to get my get the swing feeling nice and good and then we came out to the field and and hit some BP hit some onfield BP and um swing felt pretty good so that was good and then um we went behind the plate and and threw down some worked on some defensive skills so and that was a day in the [Music] life
