全线长19公里，共10个入口，东北连接左海环湖栈道，西南连闽江，横贯象山、后县山、梅峰山、金牛山等山体脊，贯穿福州五大公园，是福州市首条城市山水生态休闲健身走廊。
福道主体采用空心钢管桁架组成，桥面采用格栅板，缝隙在1.5厘米以内。设计既可满足轮椅通行，也给步道下方的植物最大限度的生长空间。在环线悬空栈道上，有增设景观电梯进行接驳，以缩短绕行时间。同时，为确保游客能快速便捷的往返，福道着重考虑将悬空栈道、登山步道和车行道三个对接形成环形系统。
在设计上，步道珍珠般地串联起十几处自然人文景观，如杜鹃谷、樱花园、紫竹林、摩崖壁、兰花溪等，除了满足市民休闲健身的需求，也是览城观景的好去
The Fudao is the first urban mountain and water ecological leisure and fitness corridor in Fuzhou, with a total length of 19 kilometers and 10 entrances. It connects the Left Sea Ring Road in the northeast and the Minjiang River in the southwest, spanning across several mountain ridges such as Xiangshan, Houxianshan, Meifengshan, and Jinniushan, and passing through five major parks in Fuzhou.
The main structure of the Fudao is composed of hollow steel pipe trusses, and the bridge deck is made of grille plates with gaps of less than 1.5 centimeters, providing maximum growing space for plants below the footpath. In addition, scenic elevators are installed on the suspended ring road to shorten the detour time. To ensure that visitors can travel quickly and conveniently, the Fudao focuses on integrating the suspended ring road, mountain climbing trails, and roads into a circular system.
In terms of design, the footpath connects over a dozen natural and cultural landscapes like Azalea Valley, Cherry Blossom Garden, Purple Bamboo Grove, Cliff Wall, and Orchid Creek, satisfying both the leisure and fitness needs of citizens and providing a good place for sightseeing in the city.
