二戰中，美國就有一款飛機創造了非常多的罕見記錄，例如飛機的產量達到了15683架，戰損比爲4.6比1，千架出動損失只有7架，在歐洲戰場和太平洋戰場都立下了汗馬功勞。作爲二戰中最大最重的單發動機戰鬥機，這款飛機的形象實在和“優雅”不沾邊兒，巨大的機身使它飛起來十分笨拙，不過駕駛過這款飛機的飛行員都對它的性能讚口不絕，它就是美國共和飛機公司生產的P-47“雷霆”戰鬥機。
