The first item in my winter capsule wardrobe is a black merino knit turtleneck. This one is from
Arquette. It's the ultimate wardrobe staple and a great piece for the colder months. It's ideal
for layering as it's a slim fit and an easy item to dress up while still keeping warm whether you
wear it with leather trousers or a satin skirt and add gold accessories. It's a really handy
basic to have and I find myself reaching for it time and time again for everyday outfits or for
workwear too. Here's one way I'd style a black turtleneck knit for a smart casual occasion.
I also find it useful to have a lighter shade such as cream or camel for variety which pairs
well with black, white and denim. This is also a merino knit turtleneck and from And Other Stories.
If you're looking for great quality staples both Arquette and Other Stories are great options.
A relaxed roll neck jumper will keep you warm and cozy as well as looking chic during winter.
I particularly like this cream roll neck from H&M. This is cashmere so it feels incredibly
luxurious and soft. It's one of my favourite jumpers and it's such a useful versatile piece.
I've paired it here with white tailored trousers and a black coat for an elegant winter whites
monochromatic look. And it wouldn't be a winter capsule wardrobe without a tailored black coat.
I would choose a long line tailored fit for a wearable style that will work for casual
workwear and evening attire. If there is one coat you invest in for winter
it should be a smart black coat and this one is from Mango. I've been reaching for this wool blend
camel coat from Reece a lot recently and find that it works so well with many pieces in my wardrobe.
Outerwear can completely transform an outfit especially in winter when we need to wrap up
and a coat becomes the key part of an outfit. Camel is a classic and timeless colour that
will never date in your wardrobe and it's such a great colour for spring too. I love the shape and
style of this particular coat and I know it's going to be a key piece in my wardrobe for many
years to come. I love a short style of coat to create a different kind of look. This cream wool
coat is from Marseille London. They do gorgeous classic pieces with a modern twist. I adore the
boxy fit and cut which really elevates my outfit. It also comes with a scarf which creates a totally
unique look than wearing it without so then I have two ways to wear it. Scarf style coats are also
majorly trending this season. I wear a blazer all year round but a wool blazer works particularly
well in winter to keep me warm while also looking chic and smart. This blazer has a houndstooth
design in a dark brown which seamlessly works with the other pieces in this capsule wardrobe.
I usually size up in blazers especially for autumn and winter so that there's enough space for
layering a knit underneath. A striped jumper adds something a little different to your wardrobe
and a Parisian chic touch. I love a striped jumper during winter but also throughout the other
seasons so it's a useful piece to have all year round and this one is from H&M. I like to use
jumpers as a layering piece and almost as a scarf as I've done here with the striped jumper adding a
nice contrast to the all black outfit. Another all year round staple are black wide leg trousers.
I always opt for a tailored trouser as this helps to elevate the look and add structure and shape
to your outfit. These work really well for work wear and meetings or you can incorporate them
into your everyday wardrobe paired with trainers and more casual pieces for a put together but
laid back look. Dark blue jeans are a favourite everyday piece for me to wear during winter.
I prefer a dark denim in the colder months which looks stylish with black browns and earthy tones
and they also look great when dressed up for the evening. These ones are from River Island
and in a receipt size. I love the fit of these and find them to be super flattering. For a change to
black trousers I love to wear white trousers during winter as they add a lovely contrast
and they look timeless and fashionable. Try a winter white outfit like I have here paired with
a black coat or a camel coat and you'll instantly look chic and put together. A comfortable and
piece I go for time and time again are black leggings. These can be worn in so many different
ways whether you wear them with an oversized turtleneck jumper or a blazer or a coat and you
can wear them for casual or dressing up. I recently shared a reel on my Instagram showing eight
different ways to wear black leggings which I'll link in the description box. Easily one of my most
worn trouser styles for winter whether it's for casual or dressing up faux leather trousers are a
go-to for me. These ones are from Abercrombie in the short petite length and I find them to be
super flattering and comfortable. A black satin skirt is a nice change and switch up to trousers
and feels more dressier and feminine while being versatile enough to wear casually or dressed up.
Pair with a chunky roll neck for a casual date night or lunch outing and then for office wear
pair with a slim fit roll neck and a blazer and a pair of heeled ankle boots and be the best dressed
in the office. This structured top handle bag is my go-to throughout autumn winter. It fits quite a
lot inside and I love the smart feel that it has. This is one of the bags that I reach for all the
time it's from Cofoon Official and this is the stance bag. Another favourite handbag is the midi
new yorker style from D'Amelia London. It's a gorgeous tan colour and it's easy to drop your
things into and then head out the door. One of my go-to shoes for winter black heeled ankle boots
wear for smart casual or work wear. I'm petite so I do love to wear a small heel for day-to-day
meetings and outings. Trainers are an absolute everyday essential. I like to wear my adidas
sambas for days when I know I'm going to be walking around the city and they have a cool and classic
design. Accessories have the power to completely elevate and change an outfit. A black belt with
gold hardware is a piece I wear all the time. You can change this to fit your own personal style.
It completes and pulls together the look and it's definitely a piece that shouldn't be overlooked
in your wardrobe. Thank you so much for watching. Please give a thumbs up and
subscribe if you enjoyed and I'll see you in my next video really soon.
