SURFACE, ROAM Original, is the story of how award-winning photographer Ben Thouard invented a new perspective on our world—shooting underwater from inside a wave that looks back at the landscape in a way never seen before. ever seen before. His love of the ocean, surfing and windsurfing took him to the small village of Teahupoo, Tahiti, where he could witness the legendary surf from his backyard. From the clear waters of French Polynesia, his creative vision and desire to do something unique was born. After 15 years of trial and error, failures and successes, he persevered to discover his own signature photography style, as seen in his beautiful new book, SURFACE. He hopes this new vision of our oceans, in their most pristine form, will inspire others to protect them. “Through this work, I hope people can realize that we need to tackle waste and recycle all plastic waste,” Ben said.
