General George Washington hatched a daring plan to cross the Delaware River under the cover of darkness and attack the Hessian outposts at Trentonon the morning of December 26. With no casualties, Washington won a crucial and miraculous victory that helped the war survive its most challenging crisis, re-ignited the cause of freedom, and gave new life to this great country.
