This is the 2023 Washington Crossing the Delaware reenactment in Washington Crossing Historic Park, PA.
Background:
At the end of 1776, with failure following failure, lack of food and warm clothing, expiring enlistments, and little support from congress. General George Washington hatched a daring plan to cross the Delaware River under the cover of darkness and attack the Hessian outposts at Trentonon the morning of December 26. With no casualties, Washington won a crucial and miraculous victory that helped the war survive its most challenging crisis, re-ignited the cause of freedom, and gave new life to this great country.
