Hello everyone!
I'm here with my friend Natalie!
So, for those of you who don't probably remember, Natalie is my good friend.
We've been friends for 10 years now and we used to work together in Santa Monica, like
almost 10 years ago, and that's how we met, and then we traveled to Thailand together.
The first time I ever went to Thailand was with her and one other friend, and then she
came to Australia when I was there and we did a big road trip.
You can watch all of those videos if you want.
That's who she is.
She's awesome.
She's here visiting from LA.
We're in San Francisco at the moment.
She just got in.
She flew up and then we're going to hang out here for a little bit.
We're going to have a little San Francisco exploration.
Followed by a road trip to Santa Monica.
Woo!
It's a great time.
And then we ran into another vlogger.
My name is Jesse.
I run the Jesse Live and Flow channel.
I make a daily vlog and it'll be about lifestyle, travel, or fitness generally.
You never know who you're going to meet on the streets of San Francisco.
Yeah, you just wander around San Francisco, meet random other vloggers.
That's a great thing.
It is.
I'm happiest when I'm creating the vlog.
Pretty cool to meet another vlogger.
Go check out his channel.
So that was Koi Tower.
We just had a good little look around.
Now Natalie and I are going to continue our little San Francisco adventure.
I'm going to take her to a spot that is really well known for their Irish coffee.
So I've really been wanting to meet more of you guys.
So I wanted to have a meet up while I was in San Francisco.
So I put it on my Facebook and my Instagram.
It's at this food truck night in the Presidio and they have these like fires and little
cabanas to sit in and good times.
So here's what happened then.
We're at my meet up.
Everyone went to go get food.
There's a few people here so far.
That's exciting.
Well, I didn't know if anyone was actually going to come.
So like, thanks for coming people.
Ready?
Yeah.
Enjoy you guys.
Thank you.
We got our fire lit.
Hey, I'm Mike.
It's just nice to meet Mari and all these other folks and just talk about traveling.
Hello, I'm Tiffany.
I just tagged along.
I brought a gift to bring them.
We've moved inside a little cabana with everyone.
It's pretty cool.
I'm James.
I just got back from Sweden a few days ago.
Hey, my name is John.
My last trip was in January.
I went to Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
So it's a little great nice trip.
The meet up was fun.
Only one person on Facebook said they were coming so I was happy that anyone came.
I knew more people would come.
Thank you, James.
Anyway, we have James now.
We're going to drop him off.
Everyone else left and it was really nice.
We never did Natalie's intro.
Hi, I'm Natalie, Mari's friend.
I live in Santa Monica and I'm having lots of fun in San Francisco.
We're leaving San Francisco to go on a road trip to LA.
Ready for our road trip down the mud.
We're going to see some beautiful things.
Those are just some new friends from China that we made.
These women were wearing these amazing outfits, taking all these photos, posing.
We were just watching them and they were like, come in, come in.
Then they took all these photos with us in them.
It was lots of fun.
It was fun.
We got some photos too.
They gave us a new pose to do.
It's just the thumbs up.
Thumbs up 2018.
We've stopped off at Oño Nuevo State Park to see some elephant seals.
The sky has finally cleared.
Blue sky.
Here we have our float-a-go ride.
I recently learned more of the proper way to taste the wine.
I'm just like, mmm, tastes good.
So I was practicing.
I haven't done it since I learned it.
So we've learned a valuable lesson and I'm going to pass it on to you guys.
If you're looking for a campsite off of Highway 1 before Halloween, you should book in advance.
Well, probably not all of them because actually we called one at first and they said they
had availability but then we didn't drive that far.
Okay, wait, let me back up.
We've had a really nice drive.
We had a good lunch in Davenport and then we had some wine tasting at Bonny Doon.
One of my old co-workers in New Zealand, his favorite wine ever was Bonny Doon.
So we saw the tasting room and we had to go try it.
Then we went to Santa Cruz.
Natalie's never been to Santa Cruz so I thought she had to see it because it's so cute.
Also fun fact, after Labor Day, the boardwalk is closed on the weekdays.
Only open on the weekends.
So we walked around but it was like a deserted ghost town.
We put our toesies in the water.
Then our next mission was to try and find a campsite.
We went to a few state beaches that have really nice campgrounds but they were all full.
So lesson on Friday night, September, you should probably book in advance.
The thing about the state parks though is that if you want to book online, you have
to do it 48 hours in advance.
The other problem is that neither of us are very good at planning for an advance.
We wanted to stop, have our freedom where we could.
We're staying inside a sand castle right now.
We're in a place called Sand City, the Sand Castle Inn.
Hey, it's pretty nice.
I'm going to research a campground for tomorrow so we don't have this same problem again.
I really want to camp and we have all this camping gear that I've borrowed from my mom
so I feel like it needs to be used.
Now we're going to go find some dinner in Sand City.
So we've just been furiously looking for campsites.
But I've just found one that looks good.
We want it to be under trees with a fire ring.
Camping tonight is going to happen.
We've just stopped for lunch at Nepenthe but we're at the casual cafe part which is really nice.
This is probably one of the best views I've ever seen, especially while eating.
We've made it to our campsite.
Really nice people at the camp next door came over and immediately asked if we wanted help.
And then they set up our tent for us.
How's Natalie doing?
I don't know, we'll see.
Trying to get the fire.
Wow, that was beautiful.
I'm so bad.
All of a sudden there was five guys standing around.
I know.
It was very nice of them.
How gross are my hands?
Ew.
That was good.
I forgot to wash my hands and I just licked my finger.
Camping.
Successful camping mission.
Now we are headed back to L.A.
Well, it's not back for me.
I haven't been there in two years but hey, it's going back.
Alright, well that was an awesome road trip.
We made it back to Santa Monica where Natalie lives.
Thanks for watching that San Francisco road trip California Highway 1 adventure.
And I'll see you in the next video.
Bye!
